Chapter 3 - Gifting You An Evil Lord (1) : Calling Of Sirens

Mo Yin stayed inside the training space for two hundred years. Although it sounds like a long time, every day she was so busy that she didn't even notice the flow of time. There was so much new knowledge that she never knew about that 200 years weren't enough for her to learn everything that she wanted to.

The time in the training space came to an end before she knew it.

[The time limit is up. Dear host, please prepare to be exited out of the training space.]

Mo Yin placed down the gun that she was holding. The shooting target in front of her was filled with holes all densely concentrated around the center.

She had picked up shooting recently in the training space. In her world, there were no such things as guns however in the training space, there were more than a million variety of guns gathered from different kinds of worlds. There were ordinary guns from modern eras, magic guns from fantasy setting worlds and even high tech guns from futuristic settings.

"Alright." Mo Yin placed the gun down.

Mo Sheng, who was playing with a laptop looked up, "Sis Yin, you're going to be leaving?"

Inside the system space, the time of their body stopped so they still retained their looks from 200 years ago. In other words, Mo Sheng still had the tender appearance of a 6-year-old.

013 explained to them how aging works inside the system space.

[Inside the training space, time will stop for your body but once you exit it, you will continue to grow until your body reaches optimal condition. The system will automatically preserve the host's body at its best state. This function exists because certain missions may take a while to complete and it would be problematic if the host's body withers up and dies while the host is still completing the mission. Of course, this function applies to Mo Sheng as well so you don't have to worry about him. Mo Sheng will be placed in the system space's virtual environment along with your body while you are doing your mission.]

When the countdown clock reached zero, Mo Yin and Mo Sheng were transported to an empty white space.

[This is the system space. I have received permission to activate the virtual environment setting so just tell me what kind of environment do you want.]

Mo Yin looked at Mo Sheng and said, "You're the one that's going to be staying here so you can choose."

Mo Sheng thought for a while before saying, "Then just make a bedroom ba."

Mo Yin gave him a questioning glance, "Why not chose something more interesting?"

"Sis Yin, your body is going to be here while you do the missions. The bed is for your body to sleep on naturally." He smiled, "Also, who says a bedroom has to be boring, in name it's a bedroom but I can just move everything into the bedroom ah."

Mo Yin smiled, "You're right."

In the white space, tiled floors began to materialize. A large canopy bed appeared in the white space along with a fluffy white carpet. Mo Sheng also requested bookshelves filled with various books that he wanted to read and multiple electronic devices to keep himself entertained.

[Dear Host, please prepare for mission transfer.]

Mo Yin looked at Mo Sheng and smiled, "Well, I'm heading off. See you later."

After she said that, she collapsed onto the floor. Mo Sheng hurried to catch her but his small body couldn't support her weight and he fell to the floor too.

"..."

Mo Sheng grunted and picked himself up. Mo Yin's body was only twelve and she was thin with barely any meat on her. Her body wasn't heavy at all but due to their height difference, Mo Sheng struggled to carry Mo Yin onto the bed.

When he finally reached the bed, he plopped onto it along with Mo Yin's body.

Ah, so tiring.

He reached out and puffed up the fluffy pillows before laying Mo Yin's head on it. He also very carefully covered her with a blanket.

Sighing, Mo Sheng sat on the bed while staring listlessly at the white walls.

Sis Yin ah, come back soon.

.........…..

"Hurry up and catch them! Don't let any of them escape!"

Shen Xiaotong crouched behind a cargo box and waited. He didn't dare to even breathe for fear of being discovered.

"Ah!"

A child had been discovered while trying to run away. A man immediately grabbed onto the child's arm and dragged him back.

The child was thrown into a room. The room was dark without any windows and there were many other people inside the room. Some didn't dare to escape and stayed inside the room the whole time while others, like the child just now, were brought back here while trying to run away.

"There's still more. Go catch them!"

Shen Xiaotong waited until there wasn't any more noise before slowly getting up. Just as he was about to move, his arm was suddenly grabbed by someone.

It was a man with a shaved head and tattoo over his left eye. He yelled, "There another one here!"

Shen Xiaotong acted fast. He lithely twisted his arm that was held in the man's hand at an angle and kicked the man hard in his lower region. The man yelled out in pain and his hold on Shen Xiaotong momentarily loosened. Shen Xiaotong took this chance to run.

The man recovered after a few moments. He chased after Shen Xiaotong while cursing.

"Just you wait until I catch you little sh*t!"

Shen Xiaotong continued to run, they were on the deck of a ship and soon he reached the end of the deck. Any further and he would fall into the ocean. There was nowhere left for him to run.

He never swam before...his eyes darted around for something that he could use to keep himself afloat in the water. However, there was nothing around him but piled up cargo boxes.

If he pushed one of the boxes into the water, will it float…? He wasn't sure and there was no time to think it through. The man was only an arms width away from him. If he waits any longer he would be caught by the man.

He longer hesitated. He held his breath and jumped.

Splash.

Cold water enveloped him as he sank deeper into the ocean. His eyes stung from the saltwater and he could only squeeze it shut. He moved his arms in an attempt to get to the surface however he sank faster then he could move up.

He was running out of air. His lungs burned and his mouth involuntarily opened up causing him to swallow a mouthful of seawater.

Was he going to die here?

His arms were leaden, trying to move through the water was like moving through cement. If he couldn't think of something fast, he would meet his end here.

At this moment, there was another splashing sound in the water. Someone reached out and grabbed his hand. Another hand went around his waist.

Who is it?

Shen Xiaotong felt himself moving upward, the person was pulling him up to the surface.

"Cough, cough!"

When Shen Xiaotong felt the contact of air against the skin of his face, he began to hack violently. His chest heaved up and down trying to inhale as much oxygen as possible.

Mo Yin patted Shen Xiaotong's back a couple of times to ease his coughing.

Shen Xiaotong raised a watery eye to look at her. The person that had saved him was a girl around the same age as him. He managed to nod his head towards her.

"Thank you."

The minute that Mo Yin had arrived in this world, she had to escape from a bunch of people chasing after her. Then right after she received the world's information, she saw the mission target jumping off the ship. The mission target also didn't know how to swim so she had to jump with him to save him.

Her current body was untrained and its natural athleticism wasn't great either. After running away from the men on the ship and jumping into the water to save Shen Xiaotong, her body was feeling extremely fatigued.

Right now, she had to figure out how to get themselves onto a shore. They were in the middle of the ocean and there was no sight of any land. But Mo Yin didn't want to stay near the ship for too long. If the men on the ship saw them, they might be captured back. Mo Yin randomly chose a direction and began swimming towards it while dragging Shen Xiaotong along. Shen Xiaotong could tell that it was physically taxing on her to swim while carrying him at the same time so he did his best to distribute the majority of his weight onto the water.

Even so, Mo Yin still began to slow down after a while. After about an hour, they were barely even moving anymore. Mo Yin felt like her limbs were on fire but at the same time, her entire body was freezingly cold. Her face was pale and her lips had turned a grayish-blue.

There still weren't any signs of land.

Mo Yin decided to take a break before continuing. It wasn't safe dangling in the middle of the ocean but Mo Yin's body really couldn't go on anymore.

"We're stopping for a minute."

Shen Xiaotong saw her ashen face and nodded. He bit his lips and asked, "Why did you save me?"

They didn't know each other, even if they did, she wasn't obligated to help him.

"What, you don't want me to help you? If you want to drown, then let go right now." Mo Yin was too tired and didn't talk any further. Shen Xiaotong also stayed silent and didn't say anything else. Right now, he wasn't in a situation where he could ask questions.

The two stayed silent, each thinking their own thoughts. The only sound was roaring of the waves. Mo Yin just let the waves take them wherever. Maybe they'll be lucky and stumble upon land.

Suddenly, melding together with the shalala sounds of the waves, was an eerie and strange melody. Mo Yin heard the melody and her expression became strange. Who will be singing in the middle of the sea? Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw a flash of gray fins glinting in the sunlight before disappearing into the ocean. Mo Yin had a foreboding feeling. The gray finned tail that arced elegantly in the air confirmed her thoughts.

They have met with sirens. This kind of creature also existed in her world.

In her world, sirens were low-class creatures that only scare ordinary mortals who had never cultivated before. Anyone with even a bit of cultivation would be able to use spiritual energy to block the sound of the sirens.

In the defenseless state that she was in right now, she was absolutely fucked. She also didn't know if the sirens of this world would be any different than the ones from her world making her even warier.

The head of a siren popped up to the surface. It had metal- like silver hair that flowed into the water and eyes that were completely black including the sclera. Following the first one, four more sirens also revealed themself. Pale skin covered in grayish fins, blood-red lips and large black eyes, they looked both innocent and curious.

The first siren opened its mouth and cried. Its wail was high pitched and mournful, tugging at people's heart. It sounded like the very waters of the ocean were crying.

Mo Yin's eyes glazed over and became misty. She struggled to cling on to her rationality that was preventing her from swimming towards the sirens.

Sirens were the hunters of the sea, their beauty only exists to drag others to the depth of hell. Any creatures who lost their minds listening to their songs won't meet any good end.

Mo Yin tried to swim away from the source of the song but the five sirens immediately circled around them preventing them from leaving.

They were so fucked.

Mo Yin suddenly felt a movement by her side. Shen Xiaotong had reached out a hand and was beginning to head towards the sirens. Since he couldn't swim, he dragged Mo Yin along as he moved.

"Hey, stop!"

Shen Xiaotong didn't listen to her and continued to move towards the sirens. Mo Yin raised a hand. She was about to knock him out and drag him away but she suddenly stopped.

Mo Yin paused.

Shen Xiaotong's eyes were clear and conscious. He doesn't look like someone that was mindlessly under the influence of the siren's allure.

Mo Yin debated in her mind. In the end, she decided that it was still best for her to drag him away. She can't complete her mission if he's dead.

Abruptly, one of the sirens took the initiative to come closer to them. It rubbed its face against Shen Xiaotong's palm. It was like a kitten seeking approval from its master, there was even a look of currying favor in its pitch-black eyes. Mo Yin was stunned by how obedient it was.

"..."

...Were the sirens of the world friendly to humans like dolphins?
