The students woke up at five in the morning and were getting ready to go down to their cafeteria to get their usual breakfast of cereal and a piece of fruit. The dorm was divided into three sections, the two girls lived on the right side, the three boys on the left and the teacher in the middle. The first floor was a common area and the second floor was for the living area.
"Hey do you think he will make us go up against that thing again?"
The youngest child John, was just finishing getting ready, all of the children were extreamly exhausted after their ordeal the day before. When they had gotten back to the dorm they realised that the knives they had used earlier were still with them, and they had each if the students names ingraved into them. It really made the students wonder what in the world the new teacher was thinking.
"Of course, did he really strike you as the type of person that would joke about that sort of thing?"
Ralf spat out the response at John who instantly recoiled at the harsh tone which he was not used to. Even though he knew that Ralf had that kind of personality with other people he was usually fairly civil with the other students in their class.
"That was unnecessary Ralf. He had to go through the same thing that we did, so you don't have to be so harsh."
Ralf clicked his tongue and finished tying his shoe laces. The speaker, Bob was the oldest of the group and for the most part, the most level headed of the people. Ralf didn't mind Bob for the most part, and even relied on the fact that he could talk him down from most situations, but still in this situation he was extremely angry at their new teacher. Normally if it had been another teacher they would have played many pranks on them by now, but this teacher was different, his teacher had the ability to kill them at any given moment.
"Well we had better head down, who knows what will happen if we are late for training."
Bob gathered up the three of them and they all started down by the stairs, where they ran into the other two students.
"Clare, June, nice to see you this morning. How are you feeling after the training yesterday?"
Both of the girls looked like they hadn't slept well at all so the others decided to stop talking and just continue down the stairs. Suddenly a smell drifted up the staircase which made their mouths watter. They rushed down the stairs and into the dining area to find six places set up at a single table. Each place had a piece of toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, a muffin, and a glass of juice. It made the group wonder over without caution which led them to neglect the presence of the chief who was standing in the kitchen making a cup of tea watching the groups reaction before heading over to the table behind the rest of them.
"Well all of you seem to be quite cheerful this morning. That's good to see, I hole this means you are fired up about defeating that boar monster."
All of the students stopped eating and looked to the head of the table where the teacher was calmly sipping on a cup of tea. He was wearing the same kind of clothes as the previous day, but bow they were completely black, instead of mixed in color. He smiled at them and then took another sip from his cup before starting to eat his breakfast slowly.
He could feel the tension in the air and it made him smile unconsciously, which was due in part, to the memories of their previous teacher who had been subjected to their endless pranks over the years. He enjoyed his tea and finished off his food before suddenly standing to his feet.
"We head out in half an hour, so don't be late. Okay?"
He waved to the children and went into his room locking the door behind him. Small beads of sweat were dripping down his face as he slowly walked over to his bed and sat down on it cross legged with his back against the wall. He began breathing deeply and focase on his mind.
[Host Maintenance will commence in: ten seconds (Yes) (No)]
Atlas pressed the yes option and his conscience began to fade out of being while his body was repaired from the injuries that he had accumulated from keeping the barrier constantly active. The process took twenty five minutes, but during that time he was completely unguarded so he would lock himself in a secure location before starting the cycle.
The students all finished their meals slowly wondering where he had gone off to in such a hurry, but they didn't dwell on it for long and instead went about doing various things unrelated to school, like reading, taking a nap, or just talking amongst themselves. A load sound suddenly came from the middle of the building and all of the students jumped to their feet in terror. A clowd of smoke began pouring out of the teachers room and down the stairs into the living area which was soon filled with smoke. The students looked around and realised they were no longer in the dorm, and now they had their ingraved knives in their hands. They heard the boar let out a roar and the training started once more. It didn't take the group long to get back into the same pattern that they had been in before, but Ralf and Clare, who had taken the first break noticed that there was an extream lack of teacher in the area.
"Where in the world could he be? I thought that he was really into watching us suffer out here."
Clare spoke in a interested tone of voice, she didn't really know what to think about the new teacher as a person. He acted like a monster in his actions but, in all fairness they had tried to play a prank like that on him on his first day of teaching which had been quite rude, especially since he was the one who had put up the barrier which currently protected their families. That didn't mean that she was any less scared of the person, but she was rather curious.
"Who knows? But what you said makes sence, he doesn't seem like the type of person to just abandon us in this place without at least watching us suffer a bit first."
In Rlaf's opinion there was only one thing that he needed to know about the teacher. He was dangerous, and nothing could change that. Ever since he had shown up Ralf had been on red alert, since he was unable to sence him at all it made him much more afraid to be anywhere, since he didn't know what would happen at any given time. He had always relied on his sences to help him out, but now he would have no guaranty on that.
"Hey guy's you're up next!"
The two of them stood up and brandished their knives to get fight the monster who seemed to be almost waiting for them to be ready.
"Okay, let's do this."
Clare wished that she had worn a more appropriate outfit for training in this way, but she really didn't want to compromise her fashion sence all that much, which is what had led her to go with the skirt which she was now wearing. She clicked her tongue and dogged the boar's next attack, but she was a second to late and she felt the boar's fiery hide brush against her leg making her flinch slightly from pain. She ignored it and continued on with the fighting.
After several hours of turns, the group began to get worried about their teachers absence. So far they had managed to slightly injure the boar but no more then they had the day before, the only difference was that they were getting extreamly tired and hungry.
"Hey, you don't think that he left us out here do you Bob."
Jones was sitting down panting heavy while asking the question which was on everyone's minds. The fear of the possibility was starting to sink in and the group was becoming quite uneasy about it. To make matters worse the students were starting to accumulate injuries at increasing rates. It was getting to the point that, even though Bob had heard the question he didn't even bother answering it.
"You guys are up."
Clare and Ralf fell to the ground next to the rest of the group who instantly got up and continued the fight in their place. The turn seemed to be going rather well until the boar got in a lucky shot and John fell to the ground clutching his stomach crying in pain. The sudden change for the worst freaked out Clare who was closest to John when he fell to the ground, and she ran forward instinctively dragging him out of the way of the fighting pressing her hands against the wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding. She closed her eyes and wished for the blood to stop flowing, she didn't want the one of her fellow students to meet such an simple and avoidable mistake. If only he wasn't injured. then they could keep fighting in the way that they had been before.
"Um Clare? What are you doing?"
Clare opened her eyes suddenly and looked down at John who was staring up at her with a confused expression.
"I'm trying to stop the blood flow!"
Then she looked down and saw that her hands were completely clean and the injury had vanished entirely. The only evidence that remained was the rip in John's shirt.
Clare felt a strange sensation flow through her and she lifted up her fingers to see green mist playing over his fingertips.
"So I'm a healer?!?"
The words made all of the other students stop what they were doing and look briefly in her direction. They had all been trying to find out what their abilitys were for so long that hearing Clare suddenly announce what her ability was made a small spark of hope grow inside them and John emedeatly jumped back into the fray.
"Okay then let's do this! June you take Clare's place in the second group so that she can focase on using healing for injuries and fatigue. And you Clare, try and heal the others before our turn is up."
And so the fighting began with redoubled vigor, the thought of potentially being able to unlock their abilitys made them find new purpous in their work. It wasn't like they enjoyed being the only ability holders who couldn't use their abilitys, before they had been moved from the regular classes they had been constantly picked on for their inability. All they wanted to do was be like the others and be able to use their abilitys to help save the world.
