[Warning!!! Due to interruption in system maintenance the host will experience slight to moderate backlash and should see a physician emedeatly to avoid further damage]
The damage to the barrier before the had reached it had apparently been far greater than he had anticipated, becouse the amount of energy it was taking to fix it was starting to make his head spin. He wanted to avoid going to the doctor as long as he could, becouse if he did go then his family would realise just how bad his condition was at the moment. It wasn't anything that he couldn't handle, but still it wasn't like it was a walk in the park either. He walked into the assembly hall and quietly made his way over to his assigned place in the large hall. No one noticed him as he walked into the room and passed by all of the people without making a sound. When he reached his location he found that another group of students was standing in the way of his own students, trying to start some kind of fight, but at that point nothing seemed to have happened yet. He was glad that that was the case, he walked over and stood between the to groups. It want until he came between the two groups that they noticed his existence.
"Well now, what do we have here? So nice to see that everyone from different classes are getting along, but I think that your teacher is most likely looking for you. and the assembly is about to start, so you should head back to your seats."
The way he said slcertian words in that sentence made his students shoved in fear. The other students also had a slight feeling of fear, but they did not k ow where that sence was coming from. All they knew was this person was most likely one of the new teachers so they probably didn't know the ways of the school.
"Teacher, we were only saying hello to our peers nothing more. You do know what class they are from correct?"
On of the older students spoke up to Atlas who smiled at them kindly.
"Of course I know what class they are in, after all it would be quite bad form if a teacher didn't know their own students, don't you think? You should head back to your teachers, the leader is finally here."
The group of students were stunned silent, and Atlas led his group around them without a second thought.
"Where were you? You were supposed to get here before we had to deal with those jerks."
John was tired from all the fighting they had done that day and he was worried for Clare, she hadn't said anything but he had the feeling that she would be dealing with backlash from using her abilitys that frequently after just starting to use them. He spoke out like this becouse he felt hurt by their teacher abandoning them for so long in such a dangerous place.
"Well funny you should ask that question, I was..."
The Assembly suddenly began and Atlas silenced his comment. The meeting mostly went over such things as the plan for the next season, like the different classes that the students would be going through in order to bust their skills. At the end of the assembly, the leader suddenly stood up and raised his voice so that everyone could hear him.
"I have an announcement to make, which doesn't come listed in the plan so far. Due to the lack of actuall experience, next semester the students will be sent on patrol outside of the barrier in order to have a better understanding of the world we currently live in. I will give your teachers further briefing at a later date. This meeting is adjourned."
He stood up and walked out of the room without another word. As soon as he had left the room erupted into exited chatter as the people tried to look for a reason to the absurd idea that had been dropped on them so randomly.
"Well that was fun, now you kids head back and go to sleep. I have some business to take care of."
He smiled and tapped all of the children's shoulders except for Clare. Once they were all gone he gently took Clare's wrist and dragged her to the infirmary.
"What were you thinking? Using that much of your ability at once could cause you to overload worse than you already have."
He indicated the small black ring forming around her wrist which was already pitch black, there was no doubt about it. Clare wouldn't be able to help him with her low tolerance. Recovery abilities were always quite difficult becouse they sapped energy at an accelerated rate. He led the Clare out of the assembly room and down the twisted corridors until they stopped infront of a small door in a back hall of the old building, which wasn't used as frequently. The door looked shabby and a little suspicious which made Clare a bit hesitant to enter, but Atlas opened the door without hesitation and pulled Clare in behind him. The inside of the room was alot cleaner than Clare had thought it would be.
"Ah so you finaly decide to come visit... Who is the kid? I thought you were here for your appointment."
Atlas raised up Clare's arm revealing the dark circle. The doctor who had been sitting at his desk stood up and took Clare's hand.
"Fine I can deal with this, but make sure that you stick around to get your treatment okay... And he's gone."
The doctor put his head in his hand and sighed. Clare looked at him curiously, wondering why her teacher had suddenly disappeared after the doctor had mentioned treatment.
"What was that about?"
Clare was completely confused, the person who had taken out a humungous creature with ease, had disappeared when it came to a simple treatment.
"It's not what you're thinking you know."
Clare was even more confused but waited to see if the doctor would explain. He sat her down in a chair across from him and pulled a rock which was about the size of a baseball, which glowed brightly with a green light which reminded her of when she had used her recovery ability earlier.
"He had work which came up suddenly, it happens every now and again. But lately he's been over working even more than usual, wonder what could have happened that he was off in such a rush."
[Warning!!! Host will go into a comatose state for the next hour, for emergency repairs, this is a non-opional effect which will activate in one minute.]
Atlas lowered his sword and touched the large creature which was laying infront of the barrier. The creature was the size of a skyscraper and had been trying to break through the barrier after the others had weakened it earlier that day. He hadn't gone thought the fight uninjured but he had been able to heal himself. He looked down at his hand which was turning gray, he could feel himself starting to get more and more groggy. He teleported the corpse to the office and then fell to his knees.
[Warning!!! The host is going through slight genetic changes, the system will take measures to slow down the prosses.]
Atlas dragged himself into the barrier and collapsed against a large stone which was placed so what he could lay in a semi reclined position. He felt his eyes start to flutter shut and wondered when the last time was that he had gotten a good sleep. He sighed, he had a bad habit of over working himself, he needed to get better at that, but he really didn't think that would happen any time soon. He already knew that it was an inevitably that he would turn into a monster soon so that the others would be able to take their places on stage. He would finish teaching them and then let himself turn, at a time like this, retirement didn't really look like a realistic option, but it might be fine to live as a monster who would be able to live without worry before suddenly being killed when the hero's came unto their destiny. He wouldn't turn until he was no longer imperative to the equation. His vision faded and he fell into a deep sleep forgetting all of his current worries.
[Warning!!! The host is experiencing a rapid change in genetic makeup, rest from power use is advised.]
[Warning!!! The host is no longer human, this effect will be deactivated in (1) minutes.]
Atlas opens his eyes at the last notification and looked down at himself. His skin was completely foggy and his fingers and toes were claw like. He ran his claw across his teeth and felt that they were extremely sharp. He seemed to be around the same size as he usually was becouse the sword which he had been holding in his hand was still the correct size. From what he could tell he had become a humanoid monster of some sort. He stood up and walked over to the barrier and walked through it without leaving so much as a dent in the design. He blinked several times and began walking toward the fog. He knew that he should stay in one place and think about things rationally, but he wasn't exactly himself at the moment, but he couldn't tell why that was exactly. Atlas smiled to himself at the fact that he didn't seem to be that powerful of a monster, but as he approached the fog it seemed to be excited for what ever reason. He was about to reach out his hand when suddenly a notification went off.
[Warning!!! Effects have been repressed, host will now revert back to being human. It is strongly advised that the host go to a doctor to deal with the other injuries in order to prevent further permanent damage to the host.]
Atlas sighed and appeared at the training grounds where the boar was already engaged in a fight with the students who were now working in two person teams letting Clare focase on healing them when needed. For them to have only been fighting for three sessions so far, they were doing incredibly well, they were truly naturally talented, almost to the point were it would have made Atlas annoyed if it wasn't so useful for his goals.
"Time to take a bit of a break."
He clapped his hands and the fighting stopped. the students all looked over shocked to see their teacher actually at the training grounds. They all stopped what they were doing and walked over at his beckoning.
"It's about time we got down to some actuall training don't you think?"
He smiled at them and everyone fell to the ground with sighs of exasperation. wondering what in the world he would have them do next.
