The following morning Shew came down with high fever due to all the action and stress. She had holed herself up in her room not even able to move without causing immense pain in her body.
Lisa had stayed with her and helped her as much as possible. She couldn't bear to leave her friend in that state.
The morning passed silently with no other event or more visitors. In the afternoon, Shew's hone rang disturbing the quiet of the small house.
Lisa couldn't recognise the number so she answered the call dubiously, "Hello?"
"Is this Shew?" A familiar voice queried from the other side. Lisa recognised the caller immediately, it was Ray.
"No its Lisa, she is not well so I am attending to her." Lisa walked to the kitchen to get a refill of coffee for herself.
"Is everything alright?" Ray asked quickly. He doubted that it was related to their raid yesterday.
Lisa shrugged, "Yes, she just came down with a fever that's all."
"Oh ok. I called to warn her beforehand." Ray took a relieved breath, "Timo came to know about our last night's escapade. He threw a tantrum around here and is now on his way there."
"Was it bad?" Lisa frowned looking at the door.
Ray smirked, "Nothing other than the usual. He was angry that we might have caused discomfort to her."
"I think he is already here," Lisa replied hearing the frantic knocks on the door.
"That was fast. Don't tell him I called." Ray pleaded. He didn't want to be beaten up.
Lisa rolled her eyes in amusement, "Sure thing."
When Lisa opened the door it was as she expected, Timo standing there impatiently rocking on his heels. He stormed into the house without thinking twice or acknowledging the other biological lifeform present in front of him.
Lisa held back a frown before pointing to a closed door, "She is in that room, sleeping."
"Thank you." Timo nodded gratefully before barging into the room.
In the room, he saw Shew sleeping, ashen-faced. Little sweat droplets dotted her forehead. She was writhing and her face was twisted in agony.
Coming to the other side of the bed Lisa quietly held Shew's hand. It seemed to be comforting her.
"I will leave you guys alone for now." Lisa said, "a word of advice Timo if you were a smart and logical man you really would stay away from her."
"What if I am not?" Timo whispered almost inaudibly.
Lisa smiled and shook her head, "I figured as much. Never leave her side, if you hurt her I will break more than just your nose." She added a threat to improve the effect.
Timo didn't speak but only nodded in response.
"I just hope she finds her happiness soon," Lisa muttered to herself before taking off.
Her last sentence confused Timo but he stored it for a later time. For now, he just sat beside Shew on the bed holding her hand which was burning up.
The events that took place in the morning came back to him.
