Chapter 19 - Sword of Tartarus

The gods looked at each other. Vreta gave a small chuckle while Sefie giggled. Yubis though was embarrassed. Hades looked at him amused.

Ryuji's years with project management seemed to be put of use. For clients demanding a goal, he had set a definite plan for them. In his case, for him to see his brother faster, he needs another arsenal aside from magic. He cannot always cast something that he needs to imagine at first. Right now, his offensive magic is which cannot be used most of the time because he is afraid of setting the forest ablaze. is decent but it only aims on one creature plus the difficulty of moving, he needs to practice his aim. is a defensive move but he cannot use it as offense. All of these spells are pretty useful depending on the application, but he had one big problem with this, control. When he first used on Pyun-Pyun and yesterday's crisis where he felt that his mana is leaving him which made him very tired, and he suspects mana deprivation was the cause of it.

"Ryuji-san, of course we will." Yubis awkwardly answered. He was indeed the cause why this man barely survived yesterday. Sending a lone low-level goblin to melee to hunt a wild beast, definitely the goblin will perish. Where are the furry wolves when you need one? The jackal cursed inwardly. Fortunately, there was that slime who saved this guy. Maybe they should bestow something also for the little jelly as well.

"Oh, you seemed to have lots of spells and skills…" Yubis glanced at Ryuji. Some items have leveled up some have not. It seems a few days that this goblin was able to survive had accumulated skills and spells. Some spells like was not on the original database of Zariya which surprised Yubis. Though the crisis with the Green Vine Pit Vipers were very dangerous, it yielded a lot of rewards skills wise.

Ryuji looked at Yubis and gave an embarrassing smile. "... But I don't have adequate skills for controlling my magic and combat skills." He replied with embarrassment. He can probably try and the silk items but he has not yet encountered things to try, it was always magic that he utilizes which is uncontrollable. "Also, pharmacology skills…" He added. He was just being crafty for the past few days.

Yubis looked at Hades like asking for a signal. Hades just nodded at Yubis. Yubis waved his hand and a holographic image of a black sword with intricate handle and a curved blade that looked like a scimitar. It resembled a unique weapon that is dropped by evil boss in a game. "As I have said earlier, we will be giving you power ups as compensation. We can only add subsequent blessings, but we will provide you items."

"Here is the Sword of Tartarus, a semi-divine item that you can only use. This will allow you to increase your weapon capabilities." Yubis explained. "This is tied to your soul so no one can use it, if they attempt to pick it up or steal the items from you, they will be cursed."

Ryuji got a screen interface.

Effect: temporary +5 levels on all weapon combat skill level. It also doubles weapon proficiency. All level movements will depend on the form of weapon.>

'What the fuck! This is a semi divine item or a cursed sword?' Ryuji thought. Well, it is much better from a makeshift spear. He quickly glanced that this seemed to be a weapon that changes forms as well. This is some power up, at least he can practice using several different weapons using this. His only problem left was his hand-to-hand combat proficiency. Now it might be absurd, but he needed to depend on the weapon and learn its use along the way. He had no training at all with weapons.

"While it shows an image here, it would be best to pick it up later once you wake up." Yubis said.

It was great receiving a weapon, but Ryuji cannot help but wonder about the name of the sword. It was something that came out from a Greek mythology. When Yubis introduced himself, he was a former Egyptian God Anubis. Hades in front of him did not change his name, but if he was following the same thing happened with Yubis, Hades should also be the God of the Underworld for Greeks. To confirm this, he had to ask. "This sounded something from Greek mythology, is Hades-sama a Greek God?"

"Yes, Me and my husband were from the Ancient Age of Greece." Sefie truthfully answered.

Ryuji was shocked but by this time, he easily recovered. He was not well versed with the Greek mythology but the only thing that he remembered when Takehiko was asking him before was the god of the underworld had only one consort which was Persephone. He did not know why Takehiko took a Greek mythology class back in the university. He did figure out Sefie about being a spouse to Hades, which the Greek mythology back on Earth did confirm it right.
