So boring. Life that is. That's how one more year has gone past, and now I finally have my privacy time. I'm starting primary and have less adult responsible stalkers AKA matrons to actually control my movements. That means, I can start to plan the differences I will actually make in this world instead of being a passive snot monster. And that's what I did.
The year is 1917, mid of August, and I'm working on a long, really long list of dos and do nots that I though not as necessary, but as a defined guideline, with timeline guesses and approximate places. Okay, I was not sure of anything this early in the marvel universe, so I didn't have that much material to work on. I made this Secret Information Stash, dearly nicknamed Sis, that goes more or less like this:
Step 1: Fullmetal
.... I don't even have to continue right, you got the idea. It sounds simple when simplifying like that, but as I said before, there are dates and places that need to be reached. Step 1 is subdivided in a few different sections that need to be accomplished before the main part of the step can actually be done, or else I will die. Not high risk, but I WILL die, 100%. Why? Simple really, unless you have been blessed by God with divine luck, is the main character of the story, frequently breaks the 4th wall, is leader of a future secret initiative funded by the government or has a wolverine on your dog tag, there is no way to survive a full body modification, point. And I'm neither. So, preparations. And that comes to steps 1.1 and 1.2:
1.1- Acquire enough quantity of adamantium, vibranium, or both.
1.2- Find a way to boost my surviving / healing capabilities, even if temporary, to actually stay alive and sane after the transmutation.
Right, didn't I mention that? After all, why would I inject myself with molten metal using needles if I have alchemy?
1.3- Find a way to work out internal alchemy viable, with no aftereffects. Or sequelae. Seriously, that's important.
Now, my smart little unknown reader, you must have guessed why Step 1 is named such, right? I think I have left enough hints. That's right, I will build an armor. Ha, sorry, could not resist. Side tracking again, some of the steps and sub steps have alternative options, that may or may not facilitate or make it even harder to accomplish, the next steps. Why is said variables important, because, when you transmute something, after a number of times, and depending on the material used, it will develop a "resistance". The most commons are either:
A- Alchemy works less and less on said object, requiring more energy, or materials, and that fundamentally goes against alchemy's rules, so it stops working.
B- The material accommodates the most used, or latest use of alchemy on it, and from then on, no other changes can be made aside from going back and forth between it's original form and said change.
And I don't want my body to be stuck on a semi immortal metal skeleton form with no definite closure. How do I prevent that? Blood stealing. No, really, James Howlett is from 19th century, so he should exist, and I know for a fact that in less than 2 decades he will be a soldier on the Howling Commando. If I find him before that, I can participate of the WW II more or less prepared, you know, besides future mental problems from trauma and such. Damn, add Step 1.4, get a trustworthy psychologist.... maybe psychiatrist.
Anyway, Primary School. Every morning, after my shores on the dorm I live in, i go to a nearby public library. Guess what, Chemical table is not complete, i mean, i know, a whole century of technology developed through two world wars, one cold war and enterprise espionage, but it leaves a bad taste. So what did I do? Made my own, obviously. I may have been a boring guy last time, but when all you have to do a whole day is sell merchandise through a phone call, time is something you do not lack. You just need to learn how to do two things at the same time. There was a woman at the neighbouring cubicle that watched drama, made her work and polished her nails, at the same time. I'm still normal.
So, made my own, not the chemicals, I mean I organized a 21st century chemical table based on guesses and bits of memories from browsing news on internet. And then studying, took some time, but by the end of the next year I had not only memorized, but completely understood the relationship of the materials, and it's fascinating, I had some time to test alchemy some time ago, and folding papers is a good manipulation training, so I tried to change not the papers form, but density, colors, and it was easy, it was fundamentally still the same material.
But when I tried to turn the paper into gold..... Well, I failed, miserably, getting sudden riches is not so easy. But the feeling I got from trying was actually a good experience. I got to "see", that's not exactly the word but I think it's better then "feel" the molecules shifting, trying to mold themselves, nature trying to destroy anything that is out of its rules, and that is what happened. In just 15 seconds of experiment, learned so much. Not trying that again anytime soon, one of the thing I learned is that playing with uncontrolled energy makes it go haywire, burning ozone and liberating electricity.
Curious right? You would guess that the lightning around an active transmutation circle to be light effects, that's wrong, that's what happens when you lose control of a part of the energy used on the process. That means the more showy the lighting, the worse the actual transmutation, cause you wasted that much energy for nothing. How did I learn that? Well, next day there were newspaper saying that a lightning fell on the schoolyard. With no clouds. Haha.
