I must admit after I knew I was wearing a suit I got so much more happy. I started thinking about what I would wear with it. Do I want earrings? What kind of shoes should I wear? Do I wear my hair down or up? Should I wear makeup? Suddenly all these little thoughts floated through my mind and I got excited. Do I want to wear a hat? Do I want to carry a cane?
My mom seemed to be happy too when I suddenly felt enthusiastic. When we got to the ladies shoe section, I instantly knew what I wanted. I wanted a nice pair of either grey or blue suede platform boots.
My friends were looking at platforms too but not boots. I actually found my shoe rather quickly. I found the perfect blue color suede boot and slipped it on. I then walked up to the girls in the boots for opinions and they made approving coos.
"Someone looks excited." I heard his voice and instantly tensed up. I turn around and sure enough, Lee was right there.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I bought a suit for the dance." he said holding up a suit bag that he bought off the rack.
I narrowed my eyes at him. It seems like an interesting coincidence that he bought his suit in the exact store I went to.
"I didn't know you were even going."
"I considered not going. I don't have a date, but then a girl I barely paid any attention to walked up to me and asked me herself. I was surprised but flattered so I said yes. Women nowadays are very bold." he said.
My mom walked up to him and ruffled his hair. "Glad to see you have a date. I hope you have fun."
Lee tried to flatten his hair down and looked at my feet "Nice shoes."
"She is wearing it with a super cute suit." said Karen.
Lee smirked "Of course you would wear a suit."
"You say that like it is a bad thing." I said.
"Eh not really. It just suits your personality. Are you planning to cut your hair short too, wear a top hat and gloves?" he asked.
"I was thinking about a hat, gloves and cane. I am not sure if I want short hair. I quite like my curls the way they are and I am worried how they will behave if I cut it. I was also wondering if I should wear earrings and a necklace." I said.
"I think short hair would look cute on you. It's super trendy too." said Marie.
"A top hat might be too much..." said Karen.
"A cane and gloves aren't really necessary. I can see you setting it down and forgetting it at the dance." said my mom.
Dang it. They were right. I still wanted a little more flair though. I pondered it for a bit. I still don't want short hair.
"I'm going to say the hair is a no from me thanks but maybe I can do a cool updo and wear some earrings and a little bit of lip gloss?" I suggested.
"Wait...is My daughter suggesting makeup and jewelry?!" she asked.
I rolled my eyes. "Only lip gloss and earrings."
"You don't even own Chapstick!"
The girls gasped.
"Even men own Chapstick." said Lee.
And just like that shopping wasn't fun anymore.
