"Go! Go! I'd call the office I'd be there half day." Pam had to send him he would normally just walk to the office.
"I'm bringing car then, so I can pick you up."
"No need, i can take a cab going home." She smiled at him as she pushes him outside so he can take his leave.
"I insist! Check your message later." He gave her a quick kiss on the forehead and left for office.
Pam took her phone thinking of calling the First Consulting Office when she saw a message sent by Dindin. It was sent last night. 'Is it true that you are married Tim?' She could simply answer yes to this question. However, Dindin is someone close to her like distant relative. She is assistant to Lissy and she knows about her past hurdles, but Dindin is not aware of existence of Tim in her life.
'Ahhh… what should I do?' It feels like there is a need to talk about it whether over the phone or in person. Since she is here, it may be better to meet her.
Pam: Hi Dindin I am here, do you want to meet later after office or lunch time?
Dindin: It's good to know you are here! I miss you sure we can meet later. I am arranging something for my new boss lunch time. See you after office. Café downstairs?
Pam: Ok see you!
Before preparing herself she quickly sent message to Tim.
Pam: Hubby I am going to your office downstairs later. I am meeting Dindin. We can go back home together later if you want. I love you.
Tim: Ok, see you. I love you My Queen.
Lunch time during the day, Dindin was about to pick up food and documents for her boss. In the elevator there were some discussion when she entered. The three ladies are probably do not know her.
"Have you seen the photos?
"Looks like handsome IT boss was seduced by that pam-pam*"
"I heard she was a licensed professional PM; she can lose her license if someone complains. They should follow high ethical standards."
"Yeah poor Lissy she's been cheated on to think that she got impregnated by that guy."
"I heard someone is filing complaint to the board. Tsk tsk tsk"
Dindin could only clench her fist and grit her teeth. These shameless employees gossiping openly about this. She wanted to reprimand them, but she is not in the position. Hearing their conversation, she felt the need to talk to both Pam and Lissy. Did Tim really get her pregnant? She felt sorry for her previous boss. Pam is not likely to be a home wrecker; it is out of her character to seduce men.
Dindin has been distracted since lunch time after hearing firsthand discussion concerning Pam, Tim and Lissy. As if God has noticed her wariness, she bumped on to Lissy who is looking very pregnant. When she looked at her eyes were filled with concern and pity.
"Hi Din! How are you? What's with that look in your face?" She said this in her usual gentle tone and lady manner while giving her soft smile.
Dindin does not know where to start. She is also guilty of making assumptions that she is married to Tim. "Lissy hi…how are you?"
"I am good, you seemed to be bothered?"
"Ah hmmm how do I say this?" Dindin took a deep breath before continuing. "I am sorry for making assumptions that you are married to Tim. Last time when we had conversation…" She really could not continue properly.
"Why are you so worried about it it's fine. I guess we are not meant to be, this baby is important to me." Lissy gave her quick smile as she said this however her last statement is vague as if Tim is the father of the kid. It will be hard for Dindin to ask who the father is.
No matter how difficult it is Dindin chose to ask, "I thought everything was going on well with you and Tim. How did this happen? When did you break the engagement?"
"I was in Shanghai then for the assignment. To be honest I was not expecting it. I thought we understood each other, I thought my brief absence will not break us apart." Lissy kept on saying ambiguous statements. In reality she was the ones who broke the engagement, she was the one who cheated him.
Thinking that the other party is Pam, Dindin carefully phrased her next statement, "The baby is definitely a blessing to you. It would be difficult if you have been married and had to fall apart." To Dindin even if they have a kid, if Tim was not 100% faithful to Lissy then falling apart is inevitable. With this she now even more worried about her friend.
"Me working Shanghai was indeed a test of how strong our love for each other is. No matter what, there would be ladies who will cross a man's path and test a relationship."
Lissy then left Dindin analyzing the last statement. Is she hinting that Pam actually seduced Tim? Never! she has known Pam; it is likely that Tim is the problem. She needs to figure this out later.
At around 15 minutes before 6PM, Pam is already seated in the café waiting for Dindin. She messaged her to take her time, she is seated anyway at the café. She also messaged Tim that she is downstairs waiting for Dindin when her phone rang.
"Hey! Will you just wait there? Do you want to come to my office?" Tim is no longer honoring whatever Lissy requested before. He sensed that someone may be fueling the gossip as it is funny how his private affair had become am organizational interest.
"It's fine, she is going down anyway. I will message you when we are done."
"Hmmm ok. I'll see you later. I love you."
"I love you too."
Shortly after receiving Tim's call, Pam saw Dindin walking towards the café.
Pam who was standing to receive Dindin hugged each other, "Pam! It's good to see you!" She looked at her and continued, "you are looking great! I am so glad you don't look anorexic anymore."
Smiling back at Dindin, "thank you! It's good to see you again. I am sorry for getting in touch late."
"No worries, seeing you all well like this your married life must be blissful."
Pam could only give her a sweet smile. Her face radiating that blissful aura.
