Tim's eyebrows are still knitted when Pam returned to his side after checking in her luggage. Tim just responded to Lissy and is controlling his anger over how assuming this lady is. He gets the feeling that Lissy is under the impression that he is too hung up to her. She may have been very important to him over the past two years, but it doesn't mean he can go down the pathetic route just to keep her by his side. He realized; this lady is too proud.
"Something wrong?" Lissy asked with her face very near Tim. She wanted to exaggerate that she is actually looking closely at him.
Tim gave her a peck on the lips and said, "some random message, let's go."
Pam was still surprised by sudden show of love, Tim is able to drag her for few meters when she stopped. "You can send me off here. "The immigration gate is few meters away and she does not want Tim to see her too lonely to go. She may not be able to help but look back at him from immigration checkpoint and cry at the sight of leaving someone very special behind.
"Let's go together." Tim was about to pull her holding her hand but Pam stood firmly from where she is.
"Tim can you not make this hard for me? I don't want to create drama. We can part from here. Go home safely. I will call you when I reach Singapore. I will also call you before leaving for Sydney and when I arrive Sydney."
Tim pulled her to his embrace. How obedient this wife is? "I am going with you to Singapore. I will send you off to Sydney from there. Is that okay with you? Can I go now with you at the Immigration Checkpoint? I have my passport and ticket here." He lovingly kissed her on her temple.
Pam embraced him back even tighter. "Bad! Why are you only telling me this plan now?" She is now sobbing as she cried out of happiness. "I was getting myself emotionally prepared to part with you today."
Inside the plane, Pam is even more surprised that she is seated just next to Tim. Even if the business class would have barriers in between the seats, Tim is nevertheless within her reach. They were having the welcome drinks when Pam said, "Mr. Connor you kept ton surprising me these days. I might expect for more in the future."
"You like it?" Pam nodded her head rigorously and gave him a wide smile. The smile that he missed a lot. "I'll make sure to think of better surprises in the future."
Pam replied without a sound, saying 'I love you' when lip read.
Tim find her so cute that he kissed her lips passionately. Too embarrassed, Pam could only make a coughing sound after, "Ahem!"
Tim copied what she did by making a coughing sound and saying 'I love you too' without a sound. Pam gave out a silly smile. She is so happy, she wanted to have this feeling last forever. She started to fear how to handle lonely days ahead alone, but she quickly snapped out of it, she wanted to savor the moment for now.
Meantime in Shanghai, Lissy is meeting Li Bin's family over dinner for the second time. She is returning back to the NextGen soon to resign. She accepted a position in Xin Technologies and will start next month. The initial meeting with Li Bin's father was neither good nor bad. The old Li has been known to be strict but very doting to his youngest who is Li Bin. For Lissy, she needed to be sure. She must put her best foot forward especially that Li Bin's sister has ignored her in one of the encounters at the Xin Technologies building.
Lissy has been anxious for the last couple of days after learning about this formal meeting. Since she has decided to win Li Bin, she must go all the way. It did not help that she received some messages from colleagues in NextGen congratulating her with marriage to Tim. She learned that Tim hinted to the project celebration that he is now married. She thought it was a desperate move for Tim but what surprised her is the response she got from Tim when she messaged him.
"I need to focus on this family gathering!" Lissy took a deep breath. She calmed herself by doing breathing exercise. She needs to be a calm, collected and graceful woman. She still has an hour before Li Bin picks her up.
Later, inside the car towards the family dinner Lissy is trying so hard to keep her composure. Her strategy has always been to be pure and unassuming, never materialistic. She needs to make sure that people would feel her interest is of what is generally perceived as good.
"Are you nervous?" Bin asked Lissy.
"A bit…" she smiled back to him.
"Just be yourself, I am sure everyone in the family will like you."
"I hope so, its not like I am taking away their precious son from the family." They are in the very early stage of dating, getting to know each other. "We are happily seeing each other, that's it."
From time to time, Lissy would turn down some presents or offers from Li Bin stating she is not in need of that or its too much. There were also times when she had to fork out money for meals, insisting that she also treats him. For this, she earned admiration from Li Bin. She has successfully earned his trust when it comes to this area, she is never interested in his status or wealth. Its all about the happy feelings they have when they are together. This is the main point.
"Of course, I would like them to know how wonderful you are."
"Don't worry about it, if they say something which may not be pleasing, I will definitely understand. The cultural differences and our social status gap, are given." While Lissy tells Li Bin about this, inside she is trying har to keep herself calm. She does not want to be intimidated by their wealth.
Li Bin held her hands with eyes full of admiration. Lissy acted a little surprised and even turned red with Li Bin's action, it is all part of the packaging and image she is projecting.
