Do you believe in second chances? A relationship that went wrong can be healed but not all people are reunited in the same state as they were before. It is something you let fate to lead you where it takes you.
Tim wiped the tears in Pam's eyes. He pulled another set of tissue and said, "wipe your snot." He was smiling back at Pam. "You are a grown up lady, such a messed up face is a big turn off."
Pam laughed and took the tissue from Tim. She Gave her nose a good blow, "it's clean now Mister! With or without tears my face is messed up."
"There you go again...I never liked anyone with such low self esteem. How can we go out of the car with that puffy eyes. They might think I did you wrong."
Pam pulled down the sun visor of the car to check her face on the mirror. Indeed her eyes were puffy crying on the way to the office. She let out a big sigh, took her face powder out in effort to conceal it.
"Do you want to go back your apartment?" Tim suggested.
"We did nothing wrong. I don't have to explain to anyone. Besides even if they gossip about anything I'd be here in you office only until today." She is getting Tim more inconvenienced by staying in the car for too long, whatever will be will be she will be out of the country soon. "
"Let's do something wrong then..."
Pam couldn't help but think that Tim is being suggestive, "can you not talk dirty to me?"
"What? Wow! Have you been this twisted? I was just trying to imply we go upstairs together in the same elevator. Even if people think something is wrong with it who cares? You said it you don't need to explain to anyone." Tim acted surprised, perfectly concealing the mischievousness.
"Sorry..." Pam bit her lips.
They headed toward the parking elevator. When it reached ground floor as if fate was playing with them Dindin and some other colleague of Tim from NextGen joined them.
"Hey Tim!"
"Hi Tim!"
"Hello Mr. Connor!"
It was successive greetings to Tim with same person giving a mysterious quick glance at Pam. Dindin was the last to greet and he called Tim formally.
"Pam! It's been a while where have you been? Did you use the building car park?" Dindin thought its weird because Pam's apartment is nearby, she usually walks to the office. She doesn't drive.
"Yeah... I just came from the hospital."
"I gave her a lift." Tim did not want any speculations to he made the statement thinking it should clear Pam.
Dindin is aware of Pam's case so instead of asking her questions, she held her hand and softly smiled at her. As Lissy's assistant she knows Tim has been faithful to her boss.
The other colleague from NextGen we're looking at each other with questioning face. Everyone one knows Tim is engaged to Lissy. Then there is this beautiful lady from First Consulting who was with Tim. Coming from hospital with eyes puffy... what exactly happened?
"Catch up with you later!" Dindin alighted the elevator first along with colleagues from other teams leaving Tim and Pam in the elevator.
"Bye!" Pam wave as Dindin went out.
When the elevator opened, Tim held the door open to let Pam go out first he said in a low voice, "see you later," before getting out.
Pam just nodded her head. She thought it was just some courtesy words to say. She headed to the project war room. There were few documentations to you hand over and she should be good to go.
Jim was in the room when she entered. "Hey Pam what's up? I thought you are off today..."
"Nope, I am leaving soon and need to get some turn over documents done soon."
Jim looked at her, he noticed there is something odd in her eyes. 'Did she just cry?' He chose not to say anything, he doesn't want to appear nosy. Instead he took his phone out and messages Ronna.
Jim: "Where are you? Pam is here."
Ronna: "I bought coffee, like you didn't know."
Jim: "20 mins to get coffee? Really? Slacking u til the last day. Be here now. Her eyes are puffy!"
Ronna: "..."
In about3 minutes Ronna arrived the war room with 2 cups of coffee.
"Pam you are here!" She took one coffee and put it on Jim's side. "Do you want some coffee?"
Jim saw this. Ronna offered Pam her coffee but kept one of the cups for him. After his message he felt a bit guilty for appearing to be questioning her.
"Thanks Ronna! I am good I can't have coffee today. I just came from hospital checks." Pam just said this so Ronna can have her coffee guilt free.
"Oh you had check up. Everything okay?"
They unaware of Pam's plan in egg cell freezing so they thought it's a check up due to her previous sickness.
"All good I just need to have some nourishment and eat healthily to boost my immune system."
"Good to know! Stop dieting. You are already slim and beautiful enough. One more less meal and you will be mistaken as having anorexia!"
Pam just laugh out loud with Ronna's comment. She always make those silly remarks.
"I can take you to the Friday event, I can pick you up from the Gardens."
Pam has already planned to miss the event. She is flying back to Singapore on Friday morning. She does not want to make a big deal out of it so she chose not to disclose.
"No thanks Ronna, I have meetings with Singapore office then there is another cal with Sydney. I will just go there when everything is done."
"The office had good timings for call, why does it have to be on our R&R."
"It's fine! You all deserve to be rewarded and celebrate but I have an office to open in Sydney. I need to put on my best foot forward on this."
"Such professionalisms and passion! I really admire you Pam."
Pam just curled her lips up. "I'll get you dinner later."
"Yes! I love you Pam!"
"Jim you are joining right?"
"Of course!" Ronna answered for Jim and she looked at him with wide yes giving him no option.
"The pseudo boss give me no option to decline. I am in!"
Pam chuckled at Jim's comment. They are like cats and dogs. She wanted to treat them for dinner because she does not have plans of joining the party on Friday. She wants to leave quietly.
