Chapter 4 - GreenValley High

Students were lining up for the morning flag ceremony. Some Freshmen's were busy chatting at each other as if they were in a public market. The first year adviser Mrs. Jessica caught their attention.

"So early in the morning and you are already talking like parrots?!"

The freshmen girls smirked and decided to lower their voice. "Who are talking like parrots?" said the Freshman sporting a red hair-tie. "Looks like she is the parrot. Look at her mouth." replied the girl on a Jansport bag.

Next in row from the Freshmen were the sophomore's who we're also busy murmuring with their classmates. One of them was talking about the boy who allegedly drank a bottle of bleach because of a broken heart. "Are you sure it was bleach?" "Are you that close?" said another girl. And in a minute the morning prayer began. It was followed by the singing of the National anthem. After which, the students started to proceed to their respective rooms. It was the Seniors who were the first to move from the line. They were followed by the Juniors and the rest of the high school students.

Rhee was walking towards their Chemistry room. Miss Minerva is going to give them a long exam, one of the pointers given to them by their teacher was about Dalton's Theory. She is familiar of who Dalton is. At least she remembers the topic when their teacher discussed about this many moons passed. Rhee felt a little bit nervous. After the party at the Garden last night she wasn't able to concentrate on the book she was reading. Her thoughts were somewhere in the streets of Osaka, and she was ruminating about the boy covered with blood.

The alarm rang and Miss Minerva entered the room. Rhee was on her seat next to the window, her favorite seat alongside her close friend Vannah. Vannah is an intelligent, tall and pretty girl. Rhee adores her a lot. But despite their being close friends, Rhee and Vannah has drawn a line that they never tried to cross; Politics. Their parents are both politicians who belong to different parties. Vannah's father belongs to the Red Team while Rhee's mom is from the Green Team. So whenever they are together they don't talk about politics instead they talk about music, food and poetry simply because those are their common ground.

Rhee was staring outside, she saw something that was moving on the bushes. Suddenly her attention was caught when Miss Minerva said: "Rhee pass the paper to the back."

Rhee picked the test paper that was on top and decided to read the instructions. She tried to answer the test with her best might. They are already in their Fourth Grading Period and she knew how crucial that is. She was reading the last question: "The molecular weight of caffeine is 194 and the empirical formula of caffeine is C4H5N2O. What is the molecular formula of caffeine? "

Rhee was scribbling on her answer sheet and as she was about to write her answer her head suddenly ache. She closed her eyes and suddenly she saw the boy's face again.

The bell rang and Miss Minerva asked the class to pass their paper. Everyone was excited for the recess. "Chemistry is so nerve wracking it felt like my hair is gonna fall off", said one Rhee's classmate. "Let's check our answers if it was correct" said Vannah grabbing Rhee's shoulder. "I felt a little bit dizzy awhile ago, maybe I'm just hungry. Let's grab some snacks first, "Rhee replied. The girls then proceeded to cafeteria and bought some cheeseburger and sandwich. Next to Rhee's table were a group of Sophomores.

"Willard was acting weird in class." "Yeah right I know, he probably is pressured to be a perfect role model since his dad is the principal." "Sometimes I wish I was a born from a principal father but when I look at Willard, I am grateful that I am not." said the one of the girls.

"Rhea, but isn't Willard and Josh close? Do you think Willard is gay too?

I was so shocked to found out that Josh was a closet gay." said one of the girls.

"Lorin do you have a phone or what, are you not following him on Facebook."

"No I'm not." said the girl named Lorin.

The bell finally rang and the students in the canteen scampered away. Among them were Rhee and her friends.

Meanwhile at the principal's office Mr. Ferrera was talking over the phone with the towns elite "Ofcourse Madam we will make sure Takashi will feel comfortable at GreenValley High... however " and their was a long pause.

Another GreenValleyHigh employee went inside the office. "Oh yeah Miss Daisy, I was waiting for you."

Miss Daisy seated in front of the table. The principal's office is nothing extraordinary but every time you enter the room you will smell Mr. Ferrera's scented humidifier. Miss Daisy the school nurse handed a folder to the the principal. "I was going to send it thru mail but I decided to print it for you to see the final draft."

The Principal skimmed the passages and he felt a little bit anxious. What was on the paper triggered his anxiety.
