Chapter 44 - Bellesimo

"So, do you want to go?" Old beggar asked. Red thought about it. It was advantageous to him, but the old beggar did not know that. "Honing our combat skills? The benefits really don't offset the risks if it is as you are describing it."

The old beggar laughed inwardly as he prepared his net to trap the fish. "Why do you think the alliance is suddenly interested in a planet no matter the cost? The resource they are interested in are the Zergs themselves. The Zergs on this planet are special. When you kill them, you can increase your affinity to the element they possess by a very little bit."

Red thought for a bit but he wasn't too sure. "Won't you need the proper cultivation art to go along with the element though?" The Old Beggar shook his head. "Not for these bugs, no. Go there and see it for yourself."

Red nodded. "Alright, I'll go. What about you Shuli?" Shuli nodded as well. She didn't have any particular to go to and the palace was not where she wanted to rot in.

The old beggar rubbed his hands together in delight. "Great! When you go there, do me a favor and collect this object if you can." He took out a picture of a yellow gel like crystalline object. Red looked puzzled. "This is?" Old beggar looked at it as if he were looking at his own child. "This thing is known as apholite. If you find this, just collect some for me. A jar's worth is enough." Red was suspicious, but he agreed nonetheless.

A few days later, Red and Shuli were on a covert corvette class ship flying to Bellesimo. He had to unfortunately bid permanent goodbyes to Yui and Rin. He explained that he had to join a merchant group and thus had to leave. Princess Rin didn't say anything, but Yui was reluctant.

The old beggar didn't mistreat them. An automated covert corvette had picked it up. The ship was invisible to detection and extremely quick. It took the two of them to the eastern edge of the human alliance within five days. Red had spent the time widening his qi capacity and holding more qi gas, while Shuli was practicing the Fiery Asura Fist.

The corvette arrived at Planet Bellesimo and offloaded them from the lower atmosphere before flying away. The two almost crashed into the ground because of the rude corvette's maneuver which almost made Red feel like his bones would break. Luckily, his physical body was strong and Shuli was an Asura.

On the barren ground they stood for a minute taking a look at the scenery and geography. It was a very barren planet with only rocks as far as the eye could see. The air was breathable and the climate was not too extreme, but immediately Red could see that food and water would be troublesome to acquire. The thing that was the most galling though, was the immense gravitational field. The planet was at at least 15 Gs.

"What covert operatives? There is no base, no point of contact, no help seeking mechanism and worst of all no intelligence. He just dropped us into the planet to slaughter bugs! He swindled us again! A rat weighs as much as a bull on this blasted planet." He raged, while Shuli was busy observing the area.

Luckily he had a storage ring and brought some basic supplies with himself and so did Shuli. Shuli looked at Red and commented. "Your teacher is indeed very weird. But this is effective as well."

They didn't have to wait for long either. Zergs had spotted them and with clicking sounds surrounded them for slaughter. Red took out an alloy sword from the storage ring. It was one of the objects that Chiba Clan Young master had collected within the storage ring. Shuli took out a pair of gauntlets. She was going to use Fiery Asura Fist.

Red performed a slick movement to rush to the zergs in front of him and slash with the sword. His speed was actually slower than the Zergs because of the planet's high gravity and it was harder to maintain balance. Every slash of his was the same simple slash. There was no variation, just the most basic downward slash.

Each time he slashed, Red tried to replicate that amazing sword move by the Sword God from the Sabre's intent. What he wanted was to capture the essence of the move as best as he could. So he kept practicing that basic downward slash.

Shuli, on the other hand, was pummeling the Zergs. Red could see slight wisps of elemental qi each time a Zerg was killed enter his body and be absorbed. But he didn't feel any real effect because the wisp of qi was very minute at the same time with each death blood qi was entering his body and Bloodline Art was constantly running.

Initially Red was struggling and needed two to three slashes to kill a zerg, but with each slash he had a tiny improvement. He was constantly trying to recreate the slash of the Sword God. He was nowhere near it, but he kept constantly improving.

Soon the group of Zergs had been killed. Red and Shuli had been exhausted by the first group of Zergs. The gravity was the most tiring aspect of the combat. The zergs seemed very easy to kill.

However, Shuli looked worried. "Our time here is going to be very difficult. If I'm not wrong these Zergs are the most weakest of the species. They aren't warriors."

Red was worried by her analysis. But he realized that Bloodline Art had a curious benefit. Once he finished a battle, latent energy suddenly emerged from his blood and energized him. He was no longer fatigued. Shuli was surprised. Red was only in Qi condensation compared to her, who was at the peak of Foundation Establishment seemed to have more stamina than herself.

After scoping out the area, the two found a cave in a hilly area that formed a crevasse into one hill. The cave was filled with more Zergs of the same kind as before. After spending an hour slaughtering through this group, they finally explored the cave and decided to make it their base for now.
