I watch the flowing rivers from afar, glisten like stars. Surprisingly, the temperature of the underworld was chilly. It wasn't too hot, and it surely wasn't too cold. The faint wind brushes against the water's surface, causing it to stir.
I wonder what would happen if someone fell in.
"Do you like the water?" A voice says, coming out of the middle of nowhere. I quickly turn around, coming face to face with a woman. I freeze not knowing what to say. She looks so... Gorgeous. I know I've called half the women here tonight beautiful, but this woman here has clearly put that statement to shame. The woman chuckles softly. "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you." She says, walking forward.
Is this love at first sight? I ask myself.
"H... Hello." I stutter. I mentally groan.
I'm making a fool of myself.
"You must be the hybrid everyone is talking about?" She turns her head to the side. "Natasha right?" She asks. She's somewhat taller than me. Her blue eyes, like the sea, were calm and emotionless. Long, wavy blonde hair, so smooth and silky.
I nod. "Yeah, that's me." My eyes trail down to her pale pink lips and for a moment I think to myself what it would feel like to have her lips against mine. I curse at myself. I shouldn't have thoughts like this. We just met and she's a girl... We both are. Relationships like that are frowned upon by people. Besides that, she's white and I'm... I'm different.
"I'm Claire." She says sticking her hands out for me to shake.
I shake her hand, making a note as to how her hand fits perfectly around mine. Her hands are cold, yet very soft. I looked at her blue eyes and then I noticed something. "You're dead aren't you. A vampire right?"
She lets go of my hand and smiles. "The queen of vampires actually." Claire leans against the wall. "I've never seen anyone like you." She states.
I chuckle humorously, taking offense. "I've never seen anyone like you either," I say. "But then again, you do look like a typical colonizer.
The smile that was once on her face, is now a frown. She looks at me and is taken back. "I didn't mean to offend. I was just making a statement."
My shoulders slouch and I instantly start to feel bad. "You don't have to apologize. I'm sorry, I just tend to overreact sometimes." I said, embarrassed. "And you don't look like a typical colonizer, you look gorgeous." I blush. "Not that colonizers don't look gorgeous or anything. They're just evil, you know. We'll not all of them, just the ones that I've met. But you're different. Did I say you're beautiful already? Yeah, you're beautiful." I ramble on.
Claire starts to laugh, and I can't help but love the way it sounds. I bit down on my lips, frowning.
She thinks I'm a joke. I say to myself.
"You're cute when you're nervous." She said, catching me off guard.
"Me nervous?" My heart clenches. "I'm not nervous. I'm never nervous."
Lie!
She scoffs. "You do know you're still a human right?" She asks.
"Yeah, what's that got to do with anything?"
"It means that your heart still works," Claire says. "And right now your heart is pounding so fast in your chest, proving that you're lying and indeed nervous."
I pause for a moment, not knowing what to say. My hands start to sweat. "Maybe I am nervous," I admit.
Claire chuckles. "It's alright." She tells me. "Believe it or not; I'm nervous too."
I raise my brows. "Why is that?"
She smirks at me. "I'm having a conversation with someone I think I like."
Someone clears their throat, causing us to turn around. It's Odessa. "Am I interrupting something?" From the way she said it, I can tell she knew she was interrupting us.
"You weren't," Claire says. "In fact, I was just leaving." She turned to me. "See you in a bit, Natasha." She walks out of the room, not waiting for me to even say anything.
Odessa waits until Claire is fully out of the room to talk. "Be careful around that girl Natasha." She looks me in the eyes. "She has a thing for breaking hearts, and I don't want you to become one of her victims."
I frown. "She seems nice, though."
Odessa nods. "Yeah, well remember this; Satan comes in all shapes and sizes." She walks toward the door. "Come on, it's time for you to set us free. Everyone is waiting for you."
I let out a breath, standing to my feet. The sooner I finish with this, the sooner I'll have time to myself. Odessa and I walked beside each other. Both our heads held high, looking at everyone that passed us. "What am I going to do?"
Odessa turns to me. "All the originals have to stab you with a very ancient sword and then you have to bleed... A lot. You have to cast a spell with Raine while you are bleeding." She smiles. "After that, we'll all be free."
"When you say, bleed, do you mean like a bucket of blood?" I ask.
She shakes her head. "When I say, bleed, I'm talking about bleeding to the point you fill up all of the rivers."
My feet stop moving and I turn towards Odessa. "Have you gone mad?" I yell. "What the hell makes you think I want to bleed that much?! Will I even survive that?"
Odessa glares at me. "Calm down Natasha. You're overreacting!" She yells. People flinch at how loud she is, but I only remain emotionless. She could yell all she wants, but she doesn't scare me. Not one bit. "You're a freaking hybrid for goodness sakes, you'll heal quickly. And for the last time, you can't die!"
Now it was my turn to glare at her. "I have the right to be worried, you mbwa jike!" I yelled back. "And don't yell at me, I'm sure as hell, not your child." I stormed off, not daring to even look back. Everyone is starting to get on my nerves with this hybrid crap.
"You do know you're going the wrong way, right?" I turn around, instantly recognizing the voice. It was the Indian. He frowns, touching his chest. "Ouch, that hurts, you couldn't just call me by my name."
My eyes widen.
Can he hear me?
Yiska chuckles. "Of course I can hear you. You're a Lycan, meaning that you can communicate with other Lycans with your mind. It also means we can hear each other's thoughts." He walks towards me, placing his hand on my shoulder. "Try reading my mind." He smirks. "I'm not to blame if you hear something nasty."
I roll my eyes before focusing. My eyes close as I hear the thoughts of the many Lycans in the underworld. My eyes open when I can hear Yiska's thoughts. "I wonder what she tastes like." I hear him say in his head.
My hand forms into a fist and I punch him in the arm. The punch harms neither of us. Yiska lifts his hands up in surrender and laughs. "I told you I wasn't to blame if you hear something nasty."
"You're disgusting." My head shakes. "Tasting someone's skin is disgusting."
Yiska only chuckles. "Who said I was talking about tasting that?" I frowned about not having any clue what else he would want to taste. Yiska chuckle turns into laughter. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "You're so innocent, it's so cute."
Yiska guild's me in the right direction as we walk towards the ceremony. He wasn't that bad of a person. Other than him being nasty, he was funny. "How old are you?" I question.
He smirks. "If I tell you, I will have to kill you." Even though he's smirking, I can tell he's serious.
"Good thing I'm immortal," I replied. Everyone looks at us as we near towards the river. From the looks of it, every creature of the underworld is here. They're all holding lit red candles. "All this for me?"
Yiska nods. "Well, you are important." I ignored him, looking at half of the originals already in the water. Shouldn't there be more originals? Odessa is already there too. Yiska dives into the water, not even waiting for me. I let out a breath, before stepping into the water. The cool water stops just below my waist. I walk to where they all are waiting for me.
"Welcome my queen." Hades greets. He has a sword in his hand. The handle of the sword is bound with black leather, the hilt decorated and the blade short. "The other originals couldn't be here today, due to the barrier my brothers put in place. But do not fret, this ritual can still work with just us."
I nod. "Let's get started."
"Yes, my queen." They all say in unison.
Hades was the first to stab me. The sword pierces my shoulder, sending me falling to my knees. It hurts, but the pain is bearable. "Thank you, my queen." He says before passing the sword to Odessa.
"You alright?" She asks concerned. I shake my head, yes, not wanting to speak. She raises the sword and stabs my arm. I look down at the water and watch as it turns red with my blood. "Thank you, my queen." She passes the sword to Yiska.
Yiska smirks. "This is gonna hurt sweetheart." He stabbed me in the chest, making a scream escape my lips. "If only you were screaming my name." He laughs when I glare at him. "Thank you, my queen."
Raine takes the sword, stabbing me just inches towards my breast. "Thank you, my queen."
Claire is the last one to go. "I wish there was another way to do this, without physically harming you." She lifts up the sword and drives it straight into my stomach. "Thank you, my queen." Blood pours from the different parts of my body, blending into the water. I close my eyes for a moment, feeling myself start to heal.
Raine takes my hand into hers. "Repeat these words after me." She says. I nod in understanding. "Audi tacens immortali pulsu heartSee lunae circulos meos semper caliginosa soulBe taces dilecte diabolus loquitur MeMy nigro patroni non mihi feara obscuratus uoce susurrat iuxta meonly extasi simplices purus clearan interminatum Orgasmic alto veniens freeimmortality mea."

You could sense the atmosphere of the underworld change.
"Say it again," Raine says. "Audi tacens immortali pulsu heartSee lunae circulos meos semper caliginosa soulBe taces dilecte diabolus loquitur MeMy nigro patroni non mihi feara obscuratus uoce susurrat iuxta meonly extasi simplices purus clearan interminatum Orgasmic alto veniens freeimmortality mea."

The whole ground was shaking, it was as if the place was breaking apart. "One more time Natasha," Raine says. "Audi tacens immortali pulsu heartSee lunae circulos meos semper caliginosa soulBe taces dilecte diabolus loquitur MeMy nigro patroni non mihi feara obscuratus uoce susurrat iuxta meonly extasi simplices purus clearan interminatum Orgasmic alto veniens freeimmortality mea."

That seems to do it. The barrier keeping us from the outside falls. I stand on my feet and everyone bows, including Hades.
I smile. This feels good. Having this amount of power feels so good. "You may all rise." Listening to my command, they all stand up facing me.
"What now, my queen?" Hades asks.
My eyes look around and examine everything. Thousands of creatures are here, standing behind me waiting for me to make a decision. I wasn't a little village girl anymore; I was a queen. A leader. I look down at the fallen barrier.
"Now, we change the world."
