I felt as if a huge fist had just socked me hard into my gut. A group of people that were, supposedly, fighting against the most powerful being of all, only consisted of six people.
"I...I don't understand," I said, my mouth the only muscle in my body that was moving. "What's up with all of those rooms up above?"
"Well, our group did consist of exactly 1,484 people three months ago," Kagashi said. "However, most of them died fighting. Some of them quit. Now here we are three months later."
I wasn't surprised by the fact that people died in this group fighting in the war, or the fact that people quit out of fear, but it was the fact that this group was still even able to continue fighting.
"How come you guys still fight with these small numbers?" Leonna asked, understanding my confusion.
"We've fought with small numbers since the beginning," Kagashi said. "Our chances were small, our fighting experiences were small, and our hope was small, but I've managed to keep this group together and give them the hope and our leader manged to give them the fighting experience that they needed."
I'm a little surprised that these six people decided to stay and fight instead of just give up and go home. Although, I guess any fighting chance of coming out of this war alive would be worth taking at this point and time.
"We should start with some introductions." Kagashi said as stepped back to allow the six Saviors to speak to us.
The first one to step up was a tall, middle-aged male with icy blue hair and eyes. His clothes were of a pale white shirt, dirty black jeans, and brown sandals. His face wasn't the face of a fighter, but more of a nerd.
"Hello," he said in a light voice. "My name is Norman. I've been a Savior since the beginning, so I hope that I can teach you all well."
The next one to step up was a girl who looked to be a few years younger than me. She had jet black hair and dark green eyes. She wore a white jacket, a shirt with a moe anime girl on it, black pants, and a pair of modern house-shoes.
"What's with her clothes?" Leonna asked me in a whisper.
"If I had to guess, I'd guess that she's also from Japan." I said.
"My name is Yuno," she said. "Don't ask me any questions. It's annoying."
She's pretty direct.
I noticed Kagashi shaking his head in the background after Yuno walked away. I'm guessing that this Yuno girl isn't really committed to this group.
The next person to walk up was a lot more enthusiastic than the last two.
"Yo, what's up," he said. "My name is Jaden Green. I'm from the US and I hope that I can be helpful to you guys.
He wore a shirt with some sports team logo on it, grey sweatpants, and black tennis shoes. His hair was brown and his eyes were a bright hazel.
"It's nice to meet you." I said, reaching my hand our for a handshake.
Jaden took my hand, but then started to move his fingers around in an odd way.
I looked at him a little weirdly. He noticed and then suddenly took his hand back.
"Oh, my bad man," he said apologetically. "I do this a lot with my friends, so I guess I kind of forgot that you guys don't know what it is. Though, it's not like I do this anymore anyways."
Jaden had some sort of sad look in his eyes as he walked away.
Poor guy.
Sora was, apparently, the fourth person in the group. The fifth person was a girl who looked to be in her lower thirties. Her long hair was a velvet red, and her eyes were auburn. I don't really know if what I would call what she was wearing clothes since she wore what looked like bandages around her boisterous chest and a really short pair of shorts. She didn't even wear any shoes. She was pretty shredded, so I'm guessing she keeps her clothes light so that she can stay loose and active.
Although, I would argue that her "clothes" are a little too loose.
"My name is Aria," she said, a little pumped up. "I hope you guys know that I'm not going to go easy on you newbies!"
"Well, I'll be looking forward to training with you." I said with a smirk.
"Heh, I like you already kid."
The sixth and final person was a boy who looked to be thirteen or fourteen. He kept a hood over his head, so I couldn't tell what he looked like, but he was a little shorter than me and he wore brown shorts and sandals.
"Kay." he said.
He then walked off.
"He's...been through a lot." Kagashi said.
"Haven't we all?" I asked.
Though, I didn't need an answer to that question. We've all had our tough moments.
"So, what do you think of our group?" Kagashi asked me.
"I think that Yuno girl might be the one that I might have a bit of trouble with." I said.
"I'm not surprised. She's been like this ever since she joined us. Apparently, she was supposed to be dead in her world."
"Huh..."
Well, I guess anyone would be traumatized over something like that.
I don't know why, but, though every part of me is telling me to stay away from her, I get the feeling that I should try and be friends with her.
I don't get it. Why is this Yuno girl making me feel nostalgic?
