Ken has been wondering if the old man knew something. The fact that the old man asked him to bring a weapon on his way to the hut meant he knew something's going to happen. And what he heard from their conversation confirmed his suspicions.
"What did you say?"
Ken stared at them intently, and asked his question again.
The two were initially surprised that Ken has already woken up and just pretending to sleep, but upon being asked again, they grew serious. At first they didn't want to disclose anything to him relating to their family, they just wanted to check up on him, but who knew that Ken was already awake and just pretending to sleep.
Since the cat was already out of the bag Albert decided to explain some things to Ken. "Look, kid, your parents used to live around here, your father and I were best friends. Your father choose to head in the city and work there. While I choose to stay behind here, so when I decided to head to the city too your father helped me to settle down there."
"Why didn't father mention anything about you?" he asked doubtfully.
"Because I was already away and got involve in this underground world." Albert said with a melancholic look in his eyes.
"Then is my dad part of this so called underground world?" he asked without any expression on his face. His father were a soldier prior to his disappearance, ever since then their family has been living in a frugal way until his brother started to have success in his job, only then their standard of living improve. And if the cause of his fathers disappearance was because of this stupid involvement in this so called underground world...
"No, your father were only a normal soldier and wasn't involve in anything." Albert said.
"Then what is the cause of my dad sudden dissapearance?" He asked the old man grimly.
Albert shook his head and said. "I don't know, I only know that your father was sent to intercept the enemy nations soldiers."
Ken stayed silent for a while, he still had his doubts about the old man's word, but he decided not to press on the issue, since he didn't want to tell the truth. Instead he asked the old man about what happend that night.
"Did you know what would have happend that night?" he asked seriously.
"Yes." the old man readily answered his question.
He was surprised when the old man admitted to his question, but the surprise only lasted momentarily, he started gathering power on his leg, ready to spring out of the bed. Although the old man asked him to bring a weapon on his way back, saved him in a timely manner, and knew his parents. But that doesn't prove anything, the old man could have just asked him to spend the night on their house and safely passed the night without an accident, but asked him to bring weapon instead. He could thought of two reason why the old man asked him to bring weapon rather than asking him to spend the night in their place. One, the old man couldn't make a move because of certain reasons or the old man has a sadistic nature. Just the thought of the latter send chills down his spine.
Albert raised an eyebrow and smirked upon sensing the change in atmosphere. "It seems you've been up for a while and have been fiddling around."
At the instant the old man finished his sentence, intense amount of pressure suddenly emanated from him. All of a sudden, Ken felt he was plunge in a tub full of ice cold water, large amount of sweat started dripping down from his back. He felt suffocated, like a hungry predator has locked on to him, ready to deal a fatal blow. Alarmed, he stared blankly at Albert with a terrified look, wondering if he's going to survive his attack.
"Attack! attack you idiot! seize the initiative!" like the shot signaling the start of the marathon, his whole body erupted with power, shattering the bed and sending him flying like a bullet in the old man's direction. With splinters flying around the place, he arrived in front of the old man, delivering a devastating blow to the old man.
Although surprised with the speed and power of his opposition, the old man still manage to raise his hand and cover his face to block the blow. But he was still sent flying, crashing on the wooden wall of the hut before skidding outside the yard.
"Dad!" the woman accompanying albert shouted and rushed at his direction, but before she could reach him, Albert stood up and waved his hand.
"There's nothing to worry about April, I'm fine." He said to woman in white dress.
He looked at Ken. "You sure packed quite the punch there kid. I didn't even expect you to attack with that pressure bearing down on you." Then he raised his left hand which had been twisted out of shape, "very few people manage to harm me, in fact they could be counted in one hand."
The old man looked intently at Ken, he suddenly grinned like a wounded beast, his muscles expanded and like an arrow being released from a bow, he dashed at Ken with unbelievable speed, like a cheetah hunting for its prey, he jumped up and released a series of punch and kicks at ken.
Ken scrambled pathetically to dodge his attack, he didn't expect the old man to retaliate, he thought the old man would be incapacitated upon receiving his blow. He concentrated his entire strength on that attack yet the old man only received a fractured bone. He thought even if the old man had some strength he wouldn't be able to withstand his full blown attack.
All of a sudden, he recieved pain on his chest, sending him flying for a few meters. He tried to stood up immediately but found he was short of breath.
"Not giving your entire focus on the battle can cost you your life. If I had followed up on that attack you would have lost your life today." The old man said while slowly walking towards him.
He stood up and tried to stabilize his breath, raising his hands in a defensive position, determine to fight till his last breath.
Albert raised his eyebrows upon seeing his stance then suddenly laugh out loud.
Ken was confused at the sudden bout of laughter but nevertheless didn't let his guard down even for a single moment. He stared intently at the old, trying to predict his next move. But the old man just continued laughing, he then decided to initiate the attack.
He rapidly approach the old man and was about to strike again when he heard the old man said. "That's enough."
Then he felt pain at his neck and darkness consumed him.
