Noctis couldn't help but stop in place and swallow a mouthful of saliva, as he took a while to digest the information that Spirit Magi had said to him.
"The Old Great Ones… will I ever reach their height one day?" Noctis thought to himself because it felt too distant for him… and this disparity further increased after he found out about the power of Old Great One Animo's foresight. He felt that the concept of being comparable to an Old Great One will never settle in with him, as long as he was still alive in the present age.
Noctis moved again and lightly ran as he caught up to Spirit Magi before promptly saying,
"The 12 Prime Insights: Qi Essence, Body Transformation, Astral Soul, Sacred Will, Chaos Intent, Berserk Might, Battle Spirita, Bloodline Quality, Elemental Synergy, Duality Control, Inner Comprehension, and Karmic Luck… if what you say is true then these are available to me within the Insight World. This is the essence of Old Great One Animo's inheritance because if I'm able to unlock the secrets to these insights and master them, then I would be able to stand above all the 100 Races! It is known that some high-tier races have people who have reached the peak stage for several insights, but not all of them!"
["Yes… you are correct to assume that being able to understand and master these 12 insights by reaching the peak stages of them should make you stand above all others! Not only that, I dare say that it is also a main requirement for one to ascend and become an Old Great One! The other requirement would be your cultivation base… don't forget about it because it has to reach the peak of this world as well!]
Noctis didn't doubt Spirit Magi's words because he felt that what the spirit had said made sense. It wasn't like he was the only one who had thought of this because countless of people before him had!
The only problem is that it could essentially only be realized in a dream because this level of difficulty was practically impossible… but there were still innumerable amounts of people in the high-tier races that were still trying!
Noctis had grown quiet for a moment and thought about his cultivation base before he replied to Spirit Magi, "My cultivation base… it's at the First Level of the Mortal Blood realm, which is not only the lowest level, but also the weakest realm. It would take an unknown number of years and countless amounts of resources and lucky chances for me to ever reach the peak realm of this world… not to mention the World Venerate realm, which is the highest realm that the Human race have reached in the present age!"
He thought about this matter more closely and felt that his future regarding his cultivation base wasn't quite bright. Overall, he didn't feel too bad about it because he was confident that he would at least reach a certain height that no human had ever reached before!
This was because he already held two advantages in his body that nobody else had, which was his inheritance from Old Great One Animo and the Insight World!
Noctis lightly smiled and was still calmly walking right behind Spirit Magi before he heard Spirit Ster's voice within him that had a seemingly urgent tone,
"Hey kid! There's something that you need to check out… the Fallen Space-Time Chasm object is strangely glowing and the damn imprint on it is slowly disappearing! If this is what I think it means, then soon you will be able to use it again! Damn… what good luck you have kid! This is a sacred item, so use it with utmost care. I don't want to see you going around blowing up kingdoms and empires for your own amusement! Actually, that doesn't seem to fit your style at all... and you can forget what I said because it's not like there's unlimited energy to it!" |
Noctis was very curious about this sacred object that he received from his adoptive father, so he couldn't help but be drawn in by what Spirit Ster had said.
He stopped walking and shortly after, he closed his eyes and searched within his sea of consciousness. He quickly found the Fallen Space-Time Chasm item and then said,
"Hmm… I feel a somewhat greater connection to it and I think what you said is right. I should be able to use it again soon, but I don't think it's a coincidence… it should be related to me accepting Old Great One Animo's inheritance and accessing the Insight World. You said something about not having unlimited energy… what's that about? Surely, it's not a one-time limited use, right?"
Noctis had no choice to pay attention to this matter because if he was able to use it several times, then that would mean he would have a life-saving item that was equal to having multiple ones!
It felt rather cheap, but anyone would willingly use it if it meant keeping their lives!
Not to mention that it is an overall large-scale destructive item, which means that it is also an extremely powerful offensive type item.
Noctis firmly believed that if this sacred item were to actually have several uses on it, then he would become immensely rich overnight if he puts it up on an auction! He wasn't dumb though because if he does go through with it and gets revealed, then not only would it attract countless greed from the eyes of others, but it would also greatly endanger his life!
As others have said before him, "too much treasure or a priceless treasure could cause the downfall of a person." Noctis thought that this principle was generally true, but it wouldn't really affect the individual if that person was strong enough or had an immensely large backing.
The principle held true for Noctis since he was extremely weak right now and he had no backing, so of course he wouldn't let others know that he has the Fallen Space-Time Chasm item on him!
"What the hell… do you think that this sacred item would be so easy and convenient for you to use, kid!? Ever since it has been first used, even during the Age of Fire, it always had a pre-determined limited use. After all the uses are up, that is to say all the energy has been exhausted, it goes into a dormant state for a long period of time to gather energy once again! Also, if a person does plan to use it and releases the energy within the item, then it would be extremely taxing to the mind immediately upon use! You can forget about thinking that this has 20… 10… or even 5 uses for you!" |
Noctis changed his expression to an uncomfortable and regrettable one upon hearing what Spirit Ster had said. He believed that the spirit's words made sense, but he was unwilling to fully believe that he couldn't do something about the Fallen Space-Time Chasm's limited use.
Noctis opened his eyes again and felt like it was best to research more about it with the use of the Insight World because he strangely felt it had something to do with it.
He started walking again while Spirit Magi was floating and moving ahead of him, as it led the way to the cave's exit. Some time had passed, and they both strangely reached a dead end, but before Noctis was able to say anything, Spirit Magi had said something that surprised him,
["Old Great One Animo had created me to pass down its inheritance but… for as long as I could remember, I had been trapped within this cave for an extremely long time. You could say that I wasn't present when the Age of Fire had existed because I was still in a dormant state, and it wasn't only until around the beginning of the Age of Insight when I had woken up. The Humans of that time had created this shrine because they felt a mysterious connection to this place and a profound origin that they were unable to comprehend… I do not know what happened to those Humans because I was still in the midst of recovering, so I was unable to investigate. But, it's not like I can leave very far from this cave either way because I am bound to it… luckily I was able to notice and rescue you when you were floating down the Senile River since it wasn't far from here."]
Spirit Magi was contemplating about its own life, but to Noctis it felt like the spirit wanted to share its past to him.
Noctis faintly smiled and thought that it wouldn't hurt to get to know the spirit better since they were going to be companions from here on out.
"You shouldn't be bound to this place anymore, right? You have not only read through my memories, but you have completed your task and have given me Old Great One Animo's inheritance…" Noctis felt like there was a spiritual connection between him and Spirit Magi, so it wasn't like he said these words without consideration.
["Yes, I am bound to you now, so wherever you go, I will follow…"]
Spirit Magi thought for a moment and then moved in front of Noctis, so it was directly facing the dead-end wall before saying,
["This dead end is actually the entrance to this cave, and it appears this way because I had sealed it before and after I had taken you here. I can unseal it, but before I do, I want to make it clear to you that this shrine is not like anywhere else in the world! I have made it special, which is the reason why you were able to fully recover your overall state and your Grand Celestial Elemental physique!"]
The spirit then turned around and looked at Noctis with its deep red ember eyes before saying in an enigmatic tone,
["When you are lost in both body and soul… when you have nowhere else to go and must clear your mind… when you want to return to the origin… you must remember this place! You must return to the Animo Shrine!"]
"…"
Noctis was at a loss and didn't really know how to interpret Spirit Magi's words since it was very vague and mysterious… He played these words in his mind a number of times, but before he was able to get anywhere with it, he heard Spirit Magi speak again,
["I will now unseal this wall, so you should take a few steps back. After we leave this place, I will explain the conditions to you upon accepting Old Great One Animo's inheritance… are you prepared?]
"Let's head out." Noctis nodded at Spirit Magi and calmly replied.
