Chapter 56 - Meeting (2)

"Rosch, we should start with something else. It's about the Elves.", Randan came to the point instantly, which Rosch thought would happen. He knew they wouldn't just talk about the war.

"What about them. They are my subordinates now. I don't want to hear anything right now. I only came to talk about strategies for the war, not about my subordinates.", Rosch instantly said trying to stop further questioning, but it seemed to hit on deaf ears.

" I do understand, but can Goblins and Elves really live together? I mean they must be horny, right? They all look beautiful. There have to be some rapes already, right? I do not care about that, but what I don't want is a new fight from the inside, when a big one from the outside is threatening us.", Randan said with fake concern. He needed the other family heads on his side and it seemed to work. Only Norbert was silent. He didn't want to go against Randan or Rosch, that's why he held back and Leonard, too, he starred a bit but didn't say anything. Gargaschar was the one, who complained the most.

"Be quiet goddammit.", Rosch said tiredly. He wanted to look as annoyed as possible to make them think it isn't a problem at all, which it truly wasn't. Rosch had the same concerns at the beginning, but Galia's brothel was the saving grace it seemed. Even the weakest Goblin could now get sexual satisfaction and that made them much more tame. It was luck that everything played out that well with Galia trying to help, because her legs were paralyzed, but Rosch took it as his accomplishment in this battle of words. They needed to think that he had everything under control.

" That's the reason my female made a brothel. For some valuable things to trade, you can have sex with the females you want to. It is perfect. No rapes or anything similar. You know what is even better? I make some profits, too. ", Rosch said bored, shocking the others. His confidence and disinterest is showing and makes Randan, as well as Gargaschar nervous. If they are truly living in harmony, they can forget about throwing them out again after the war. It will be to hard. The other family heads lost their interest in the talk as soon as he said that it won't be a problem.

Some even started to think about this brothel business Rosch mentioned.

The way and pace in which Rosch's territory is being build, is shocking to the other family heads, too. They started to question in their beliefs that only a strong hand could rule over the Goblins. If you give them something and have them satisfied, it seems that they are listening and showing some loyalty.

Rosch looked around and saw the various family heads thinking, which amused him very much. His plan wasn't to talk about the war. He was closest to the foot of the mountain. Right from the main gate is Roschar's territory and left starts the territory from the pure blooded Goblins. Further up his territory are the human mixes and further up from Gargaschars territory lies the Ogar and Orc mixes. They haven't got big territories, since they aren't that many. They are, like the races they are mixed with, unable to produce as much children as the others. It is a miracle if they get a second child in a span of 3 years. To that comes they are very competitive, which sometimes results in deaths or exiles. Further up the mountain from the right side were Roschar and Norbert's territory is, are the dwarf mixes and between the dwarf and orc mixes are the beast tribe mixes. The family heads make a circle around the plaza like that. Above them all is Randan and his territory. Theoretical, his territory goes up till the peak, but it is to cold up there. Still he has the biggest territory of them all.

So being one of the closest to the forest, Rosch and Gargaschar would get attacked first. He already thought some plans with his subordinates and found them very helpful. He wouldn't come here for the strategies only. He needed to have them do other stuff and not mind Roschar's business for now.

"First, we should find as many boulders as we can. We need to line them up on the mountain and hit the enemies that want to attack our flanks. With that we will limit the enemies attacking range to the front gate, as well as mine and Gargaschar's territory.", Rosch suddenly said getting annoyed by the family heads that still tried to think, if Roschar's way is the better way in how to handle subordinates. Only Randan and Gargaschar weren't really considering Roschar's claims. They wanted to have their ruling systems as it was, not any different kind.

"Are you stupid? The others won't have to fight, while we should bear all the losses?", Gargaschar suddenly screamed back. He didn't understand Roschar's plan, but he felt like it would be something bad for him, fucking his entire territory up. He got even chills just thinking about it.

" You are the stupid one. Just think for once. If we limit the area they can attack, we make it almost impossible for them to break through since we will be packed on our front walls and the main gate. We can rotate tired warriors and attack from up the wall.", Roschar's sentences shocked them again. Those standard tactics for the elves were to much for the Goblins. Order, collective thinking or working as an unit was never done before. Blindly attacking, while trying to win with their superior numbers was their tactic. Surprise attacks were another thing Goblins were good at, but defense battles not so much.

"Why should we help defend another territory?", Slither, the Ogar family head asked confused. While he looked the strongest, he surely wasn't the brightest. The others knew that if one territory fell, the war would be horrible and hard. A Nightwalkers speciality was assassination. Hiding between stones and the caves is what they wanted, the wall is their best bet to take the enemy out.

Rosch didn't want to explain and looked annoyed again. He didn't want to make an enemy out of Slither. He needed something from him. Randan was the one, who explained everything. They talked for a bit further and knew that they needed to make as many arrows as possible, to that they had to find big stones to throw them down the wall and roll them down the mountain.

"Since almost everything seemed cleared, let's see who will fight together. Humen, dwarves, beast-tribe mixes and Moonwalkers will fight on the Moonwalker territory. My soldiers and I with the Ogar and Orc mixes will fight on the Goblin territory. I don't want to lose. My father told me the story when it all began with our mixing and the wrath of the Nightwalkers hitting us. We weren't more than 300 hundred and only at the beginning of mixing with other races, but now we are more than a thousand Goblins with strong mixed ones in our armies. They will probably underestimate us and that is our chance to cripple some of their forces and get revenge. We will not lose and show them our worth. ", Randan said with a hate-filled gaze. He truly worked for this moment. Hearing from his father how weak and useless the Goblins are, Randan truly became obsessed with with the idea to change that. Randan didn't even care if his own blood would get killed in that change.

"He truly is crazy. He is just like the Sunshine lord. While the Sunshine lord was greedy, Randan on the other hand wants to show of and heal his broken pride. My Goblin grandfather must have been a truly broken being to destroy the mind of a child, maybe he didn't even want to hurt Randan, but what happened can't be changed and now I clearly see that he can't be changed. ", Rosch thought hurtful. He always had the hope to change Randan, but like the time they trained, Randan only thought about himself and they strengthening of the race. And Rosch saw it now after the fight with the Sunshine lord. Some beings are just purely evil without hope.

Rosch still talked with Randan about making Vilcet a Vicemaster. He couldn't raise ranks above great warrior. After that Randan had to give his approval and like always it would cost him something. Rosch accepted and would meet Randan two days from now.

Randan closed the meeting and the family heads went slowly away, some still talking.

" Norbert, thank you for holding back. And you Leonard, too. To not speak and listen first is a good characteristic.", Rosch said complimenting Leonard, while only showing Norbert some courtesy. He didn't help, because Rosch knew he wasn't truly loyal. Only taking his time to decide which one of those two father and son duo would win the battle for leader.

" You speak to highly of me. I just wanted to hear the full story before making a decision. And while you are truly remarkable and even able to deceive those other idiots, I do not believe that you showed all those strategies to them out of the good in your heart. Like Gargaschar guessed, you probably plan something right? But I don't care as long as you won't hurt my people. One wrong move and we will be enemies. ", Leonard said trying to intimidate the young Rosch, but was stunned that Rosch wasn't scared at all.

" Don't be my enemy. Because it won't end well. Take your time to decide, if I am someone good or not. But enough chit-chat. I need to do something. ", Rosch told Norbert and Leonard. Which left both of them shocked. Norbert was even scared a bit as he looked at Leonard. While Slither was the strongest in the brute force category, when it came to overall combat strength, nobody could handle Leonard, except Randan. But even he would have to fight for his life to take Leonard down. The fight for the Chief's position showed it years ago.

Rosch run after Slither.

"Slither can you wait? I want something from you.", Rosch suddenly told him appearing out of nowhere.
