A heavy silence fell upon Xiao and Lily. Both of them are confused about why Xiao can see the Tower while Lily thought it can't be seen by anyone.
Finally, Xiao decided to break the silence by asking:
"So...you said that the forest was there to prevent people from seeing the tower, right?"
"Yes, the forest masked the presence of the Tower. Even if you travel inside the forest, you can never step into this place as it has been set with boundary magic." Lily explained.
Lily's answer has made Xiao think back the time when he moves deeper into the forest, he felt something was making him feel uneasy for a while. Still, that feeling lasted only a few sec, so Xiao didn't overthink of it.
(So that must be it, I wonder how did I break the spell? Does it have to do with me being the Hero of Darkness?)
Xiao thought to himself.
"Mind if I ask on how did you break through the boundary magic," Lily break Xiao thought as she asked him, almost as if she was reading his mind.
(No, I may be overthinking, Lily did say if the existence of the princesses gets to the public, it will lead to war. Seeing how each Hero is from other countries, I'm damn sure the King will never expose this place to anyone.)
"No idea, I didn't do anything special, just wander aimlessly into the forest and ended up here," Xiao gave up thinking and answered honestly.
"Hmm.....strange indeed," Lily exam Xiao intensely as if she was trying to see is there anywhere special about Xiao.
Xiao blush as he was not used to girl staring at him, especially a world-class beauty like Lily. So he quickly shifts the focus to her by asking:
"That being said, you seem to know a lot about this Tower, you can even enter here, did the princesses gave you permission to do so? And speaking of them, I wonder why no one came out from the Tower, considering we're at their doorstep talking loudly."
Lily got stunned when Xiao questions her, she was hesitant to give out a replied as if she was hiding something.
"Could it be that..." seeing at how Lily behaves and the information he had gathered, Xiao was about to voice out his speculation.
"You see...I...umm...I...." Lily get even more nervous, she was shuttering every word, afraid on what Xiao is going to say.
"Well, I guess they are not at home at the moment. Lucky for us, this garden and Tower are now ours to conquer, Hahaha!"
Seeing how Lily was troubled by the question, Xiao decided to drop the topic and turns it into a joke instead to lighten the mood.
Lily was taken back by Xiao's response. Still, her expression softens and chuckle at Xiao's joke.
"...thank you...." Lily's face shows relieve as she whispers softly, she knew that Xiao was taking consideration of not pursuing the topic.
"But the Magic that can hide one existence, I wonder how it works. Man, I wish I know how to use magic as well, Hahaha!" not wanting to make Lily feel uncomfortable, Xiao change the topic.
But, instead of agreeing with Xiao, Lily was surprised by Xiao's statement.
"You're joking, right?" Lily asked.
"Joking? That I can't use magic? Yeah, I have no idea how to use magic. I did understand the basic concept behind it though," Xiao answered, he never knew that not able to use magic is a big deal to Lily.
"That's impossible?! People in this world should know at least know one or two basic spells, you should have at least someone to teach you," Lily was even more surprised as she never meets someone who doesn't know how to cast magic at all.
(Well, of course, I'm from another world that doesn't have magic, and the one who taught me the basic of magic is a lunatic who recently died.)
Xiao thought to himself, he chuckles lightly while rubbing his hair, thinking on how to answer Lily.
"Haha! Well, it's.....complicated," Xiao decided to casually brush it off.
Lily was staying silence for a while as she was thinking something, which made Xiao panicked as he felt that he should pick a better excuse.
"I can teach you if you don't mind," Lily break the silence while Xiao was still panicking.
(And now she's saying she want to teach me magic, what excuse should I....wait.)
"I'm sorry, could you repeat what you said just now?" Xiao asked Lily to repeat what she said just now because it was a completely different response from what Xiao had imagined.
"Huh? That I can teach you magic?" Lily replied, confused by Xiao's request.
Xiao opened his eyes wide and stay speechless for some time, and without warning, he jumped and shouted:
"REALLY?!"
(This girl is REALLY a Goddess! She's cute, she's kind, and now she's willing to teach me magic!)
"Whoa!" Lily was taken back by the Xiao's sudden reaction that she jumped too.
"Sorry! Sorry! I didn't mean to freak you out like that, it's just...." Xiao quickly apologies his sudden outburst, but his excitement still lingers.
Xiao was not expecting Lily would offer him a magic lesson, which he had been asking Lars to teach him ever since he came to this world.
Xiao restrains himself from getting to excited as he took a few deep breaths. Xiao proceeds with the most proper bow that he ever made in his life to someone.
"Thank you, Thank you thank you thank you," Xiao said it with all his heart as he bowed.
Lily was so taken back by Xiao's action that her cheek turns red.
"Xiao....you're embarrassing me..."
"Oh! Sorry, didn't mean to make you feel uneasy, but that's just how grateful I feel to you."
"You're too dramatic."
Lily laugh heartily by Xiao's action. Xiao awkwardly rubs his hair and chuckle.
After a heartfelt moment, Lily starts to think and mumble to herself.
"Now which spell should I teach..."
A moment later, Lily open her eye, signalling she had made her decision.
"Alright, I had decided."
"Woohoo! I'm so excited, I promise I'll do my best to learn from you," Xiao said with a big grin on his face, like a child, his excitement was too much for him to contain inside.
Lily smile kindly in return of Xiao's enthusiasm and answer:
"Fireball and Ice Spear."
