Chapter 7 - I Will Never Marry Someone Like You

Mollie knew why her mum hadn't said anything against her when she confessed about being pregnant. It was because her mother couldn't have explained it as she hadn't met him yet.

Mollie wasn't fazed. She had expected something big coming from her mother. She smiled and asked, 'thank you for the flowers. But who exactly decided this?'

Peter was suprised by how composed she was. Wouldn't a woman freak out if they were pregnant and had a boyfriend but were being introduced to someone they were supposed to marry? He thought this but kept his composure to get a good first impression and answered, 'My family had done your family a great big favour, our families had decided this because your family owes my family big now. Not only are you beautiful, but you are very talented so it's such a pleasure to have you connected with our family. Our families had arranged our marriage because of this. I only found out about this around 9 months ago. And you only found out now. We are to marry once you become 18.'

'Well, this decision is cancelled as I have a boyfriend and I'm pregnant with his child. I'm sorry about this. It must be embarrassing that I'm with someone else. Oh, he's also poor. I really don't care about your money and your position in the country. So, I won't be getting married to you, but instead, I will be marrying my boyfriend.' Mollie explained.

'No, I knew that you were pregnant already. I don't mind. I'll just look after your child with you instead of your boyfriend.' he smiled.

'You don't get it, do you?' Mollie shook her head, 'I'm in love with him, not you.'

'That's fine. I'll deal with that after we are married.' Peter replied.

'Love doesn't work like business.' she said mockingly.

'Pardon me, I mean that I will take care of you and pamper you all you like. You will eventually fall in love with me. As for your boyfriend, he will realise that you love me and he'll know that he doesn't have what it takes to be my rival.' he explained.

'I will never fall inlove with you.' Mollie said determinedly.

'What about your child, atleast marry me so that your baby will have the best life he or she could possibly have. They will be very healthy and have the best possible health care. As a family, we could go to so many places and experience many beautiful things. We could do all that others can't. Wouldn't you love that?' he tried to persuade her.

'I can't leave Kyle. I won't.' Mollie said.

'Oh, don't worry. I'll give him a lot of money so that he can live a carefree life. He won't have to work so much to look after you and your child all by himself. It's not fair on him.' Peter said.

'What do you mean?' Mollie asked.

'You wouldn't understand. If he were to stay looking after you, your child and himself, all by himself, it's not fair because he'll have to work triple the amount as other men do just for you, isn't that selfish making him do it all by himself. Whereas if you marry me, I will give him however much money he wants, and give you the best life you could ever wish for.' He smiled.

Mollie thought about it. Maybe it was unfair that Kyle had to do all the work but she just stayed home doing nothing. Also, they are only young, Kyle wouldn't have to worry about bringing up a child at such a young age and neither would she, as she would have Peter who had everything she needed.

There was one problem with this though, she was in love with Kyle. She couldn't leave him. He would be so heartbroken, and so would she if he were in the same situation. She thought some more, then came to a conclusion.

'I understand what you're saying.' Mollie said.

'Great, so you agree to the plans?' Peter was so happy until he heard her say her next words.

'No. I understand that you are being reasonable about how it will benefit me, but I also understand that you're selfish and you just want me to yourself, and that you don't care about my feelings at all. You aren't taking this seriously. I won't marry you even if it's beneficial. You think that money solves everything. You plan to give money to the one I love so much to get him to leave me just because you're selfish. You only care about yourself.' Mollie explained.

'Huh? I'm selfish? I'm putting so much effort into taking you into my family, to help you, to help the people you love, to love you.' He denied.

'But you don't care that I love Kyle.' Mollie said.

'Atleast I care about you and you should atleast be grateful for that.'

'No.' Mollie rejected.

'Why? I haven't done anything wrong. I just want to help you. I want to marry you.' Peter responded, feeling wronged.

'Listen to this, I really love Kyle. I do not love you. You're selfish. You're disgusting. Whether it's already decided or not, I refuse. I will never marry someone like you. Ever.' Mollie smiled then made her anger visible and shouted, 'Now get out!'

'I didn't know you had a temper.' Peter commented.

'Well I do, get over it!' she replied.

'Real women shouldn't have bad tempers.' he said, 'but if you come with me, I'll teach you to be a real woman.'

'Real men should be gentlemen and shouldn't force a women into anything. Then maybe women would not get angry at them.' Mollie replied mockingly.

Peter furrowed his brows, 'If you start acting like a women around me, then I'll start acting like a gentlemen around you.'

'You won't be around me much.' Mollie once again rejected him.

'You really need to be taught a lesson, young lady!' he sneered.

'So do you, young man.' she copied.

'How dare you keep copying me?' he shouted, 'you should not be allowed to do this. It's very impolite of you!'

'I really don't need your comments on my life and how I should live it.' she started to get bored of talking to him.

'A man should teach their woman how to act, so I will teach you. You are coming home with me.' Peter commanded arrogantly.

'Okay, let me get this straight. For one, I'm not your woman, and if you weren't talking about me, then it's unlike a gentleman like you to command a lady who is not their women to come home with them. And secondly, as I have nothing to do with you, you can't tell me what to do.' Mollie explained.

'Ugh, why are you acting so hard to get?' Peter asked.

A second later, he felt a sharp pain in his left cheek with a loud echoing noise following after. Mollie had slapped him. She had had enough of his rubbish. 'Just f*ck off! I don't care about you so why would I play hard to get? I have a boyfriend. It's natural for me to reject you. Adding onto that, it's natural for any smart girl to reject you as you really don't give a sh*t about their lives, but only your own. You're such a narsacist.'

Peter had now slightly come to his senses. His arrogance had dropped from high sky to below sea level. He was more upset than angry from her words now. He knew that he just couldn't win with her.

'For the third time, please just leave.' Mollie was getting really fed up, 'I'm being polite as I really can't be bothered with you. I shouldn't waste my energy on you.'

'Fine!' he stomped all the way to the door and opened it to see a good-looking guy standing outside. This must be Kyle. He humphed. 'I envy you, ' Peter said to Kyle before shoving past him, running towards his car.

Peter then heard Mollie's voice calling his name, 'Peter, wait!' Huh, has she changed her mind? Now that Kyle was here, she realised what she was missing. He thought this until he saw what she did next.

'Peter, you forgot something.' she ran up to him grinning with her hands behind her back. She pulled her hands to the front, followed by the large flower bouquet that he had given her earlier. She threw them onto his face and said mockingly, 'I don't like these flowers. Also, do me a favour, give them to the next women you find. Maybe they'll like them more.'
