Chereads / Doctor Jiang’s Beloved Sweetheart / Chapter 27 - Clearly Worried Sick

Chapter 27 - Clearly Worried Sick

Yan Nian's heart thumped at hearing the news.

What's wrong with the flower shop recently? Something is always happening every other day. Is this going to be an eventful summer?

"Alright, I'll be there as soon as possible!"

She then quickly left without bidding them goodbye so as to avoid embarrassment.

Jiang Beiyuan noticed her worried look.

And so, he kicked the man beside him. "Go find out what's going on."

"Why should I—"

Xu Kuangjie was always the unlucky one who had to carry out strenuous and unrewarding work for a certain man.

Logically speaking, he was not the doctor's father. So why should he worry about him so much?

Alas, it was his buddy who saved him when he nearly drowned when he was younger and performed his bronchial artery embolization when he was suffering from a serious case of hemoptysis.

So, he owed him twice for his life.

He puckered his lips, then took a deep breath before giving his younger cousin a call.

There was no need for him to go out to investigate what happened to the woman — just a call to He Huaiguang would do.

He got a rough idea of the situation after hearing him stammeringly explain everything.

After ending the call, he toyed with the phone in his hand and explained the situation to Jiang Beiyuan. "There are people causing trouble at the flower shop again. I heard that they are allergic to pollens, so they have rashes all over their arms and face now."

Upon hearing that, the doctor frowned. "They should visit the hospital if their allergies are acting up. Why seek her out?"

"Well, if you're worried, go there and take a look."

Pressing lips tightly together, he blandly replied, "Forget it. She'll definitely be able to handle the situation like the previous time."

After saying that, he looked down at the patient's case in his hand with dark eyes.

He had an upcoming pulmonary pleural resection surgery and thoracoscopic endoloop ligation of bullae later, which were major surgeries. As the attending doctor, he could not leave the hospital right now.

Xu Kuangjie took in his expression and thought, Someone is clearly worried sick here but is still acting aloof. Tsk.

...

A large and impenetrable crowd was found gathering outside the shop.

When Yan Nian finally squeezed through the crowd, she found He Huaiguang apologizing profusely to several middle-aged women who were surrounding him.

"What's the matter?"

She stood defensively in front of the man, blocking half of him with her slender and petite body.

One of the women, in emerald green cheongsam, took the lead and sized her up.

"You're the shop owner?"

"Yes, I am. What's wrong?"

Plop—

The woman threw a garish and beautiful red bouquet at her.

"You still have the cheek to ask? Our faces became like this because your staff delivered a bouquet to our office at the opposite building earlier!"

"Yes, exactly! My face is as good as ruined now! Pay me back for this!" loudly clamored the group of five with red faces despite their emerald green cheongsam.

Keeping mum, she calmly squatted down and carefully examined the flowers on the ground.

"These are poinsettias," she firmly enunciated in a light voice.

"The latex secreted by poinsettias are toxic and can cause an allergic reaction in people upon contact with the skin. You all must have accidentally touched its stems and leaves, that explains the red and swelling skin."

"So, what should we do now?! Who's going to be responsible for the faces of all five of us?"

"…"

She slowly tugged her lips as she got up to her feet.

"Calm down, ladies. The flowers I got my staff to deliver are not poinsettias."

With that, she turned to He Huaiguang and suddenly put on a stern face.

"Lad, what's wrong with you? I got you to deliver hibiscuses and begonias, which have non-poisonous leaves. Did you make a mistake since their colors are of a similar red shade to the poinsettias?"

"Cross my heart!"

He raised both hands in surrender and licked the corner of his lips.

"Didn't you instruct me to use gladioli for decorations? I did as instructed and delivered the bouquet after binding the primary and secondary flowers together."
