"You are at the hospital child, do you remember what happened?" Xander asked as he stepped forward from the black veil that hides him from human sight.
"N...No...Who...who are you? Is this your fox? Can I pet it? Please?"
Xander smiled at her short attention span, it was something he'd learned about very quickly in his death dealings of the human's.
"This is Akshai, he is my friend. My name is Xander, we've come to take your soul to the River Styx for Judgment. Don't be afraid though, we've done this lots of times. There're other children there that you can play with if you like, animals too. Most importantly no one there will ever hurt you again." Xander said in his softest voice.
Lillian clutched her little hands together, appearing to be thinking about Xander's offer. Akshai stepped forward, placing his head beneath the girl's hands and swishing his tail back around her in a protective way.
"We promise you will be alright Lilly. I'll even let you ride on my back." Akshai exclaimed.
"But, but you're too little, I'll hurt you. I don't wanna hurt you." She said as she hung her head and began to sob.
"Oh no, no, no we can't have you feeling all sad and blue. Here, watch this." Akshai said as he leapt off the bed, instantly quadrupling in size.
He now sat on the hospital floor and still had to bend his back because of the ceiling. Lillian laughed and gasped at his size and uncomfortable position. He winked at her then in his mist he shrank to the size of a deer.
"How's this? Better?" he asked.
Lillian giggled and clapped her approval. Xander carefully helped her down from the bed and placed her gently onto Akshai's back. As they strode through the hospital room door Lillian gave her bruised and broken body one last glance. Akshai tilted his head a bit.
"Where we're taking you, you'll feel no pain, no sorrow, no disappointment, only happiness and joy. Oh, and did we mention...you'll be able to fly?"
