CHAPTER 18
They were all shocked as they saw Yibo behind the door. All of them were looking at him as he entered the room.
Yibo: Even if he help you again, you yourself know the end result of this. You will all still have a small chance of passing and coping to the training and he will drag his group down during the evaluation due to his health and emotional distress because you fail again.
Gee was shocked, Se Ju and the rest felt sad upon hearing Yibo.
Gee: senior Yibo why you-
Yibo: They were not given the remedial evaluation for the third time. They just pleaded to the board members to give them another chance.
Kite told him after he got back from the clinic.
Gee was very shocked she couldn't believe what she was hearing, she looked at Yibo then she turned her look to Se Ju and the rest who were all looking down holding their tears. She felt even more depressed and become more eager to help them. She slowly walks to Se Ju but Yibo grabbed her in her right arm. She looked at him and was trying to remove her right arm from Yibo's grip. He looked at her.
Yibo: You are not obligated to help them.
Gee was even more shocked. Japanese girl was crying.
Yibo: Why do you feel so responsible for them? Do you have any relationship with them in the first place? You just know them recently.
Gee swayed her right arm to release herself from Yibo's grip. Looking at him in the eyes trying to hold back her tears.
Gee: Why are you like that?
Yibo was just looking at her eye to eye.
Gee: Did your coolness turned your heart cold?
Yibo seemed to be a little surprise upon hearing it from her.
Gee: You don't have to have any relationship to be concern with others. It doesn't matter how long you know someone before you lend help to them.
She was almost crying when she remembered her mother saying when they left a pack of food for two to the mother and daughter sleeping beside a clothing store.
Gee: when you can help, lend help even if you just saw them for the first time. Even if you cannot solve their problem in instant.
She remembers her brother Jake crying but still cheering up his friend who was holding a rope and was crying.
Gee: You might never know you just save them from the verge of giving up ( keeping her tears but it fell, she remembers how Moru came when she was about to cut her self)
Yibo was very shocked seeing her crying, he doesn't know how to feel. Gee was walking to Se Ju. When he seem to overcome the shock he blocked Gee's way.
Yibo: I don't understand why your being stubborn and dramatic but your risking what is more important. Even if they still try, they are not as talented as you are and the rest of the top ranking trainees. We have seen how far they will get, they won't survive this batch.
Gee was even more shock, she saw that Se Ju and the rest were not shocked by what Yibo is saying in front of them, instead they are trying to keep their tears. She pushed Yibo.
Gee: Why?- why are you saying those things? (she looked at them) B-but they said they have improved right? What if-
Yibo: its useless (he said in a cold voice) You should focus on your self, and don't meddle on other people's problems. Don't waste your time and energy on something you already know the outcome.
Japanese girl was crying even harder and Se Ju who was trying not to cry was not able to hold it back. Gee has felt something heavy on her chest.
Se Ju: I- I thought we did our best, but senior Yibo is right even if his words hurt. Don't waste your time with us bro…
Gee felt something on her chest that she can't breathe looking at Yibo. She felt so disappointed seeing him without any sympathy on his eyes. She was shaking her head while walking away from him then she walked away without a word. Se Ju and the rest walked away from Yibo by sitting on the floor relieving each other specially the Japanese girl. Yibo was trying to comprehend what just happened. He was looking to them then he went to the door. He glanced at them for the last time then he started to walk.
Meanwhile, Gee was crying at the corner of the stair room. She was so mad kicking her feet.
Gee: How cruel can you be senior Yibo! You -you just killed their hope! How sure you are that they won't pass this time! (she cries) why- do you have to hurt them like that… (she cries putting her face down on her knees) they still have a chance! I believe in them! Who are you to judge them right away even if you are a trainer and talanted!
Se Ju and the rest heard Gee's crying. They were looking for her after Yibo left them. They looked at each other and they nodded. They went in and Gee was surprised to see them.
Se Ju: (smiling) bro! Thank you for believing in us! We know senior Yibo was right, but we will not let his words to totally take away our hope!
They all nodded and smiled to her. Gee smiled back and bro hug them even Japanese girl. They went outside the stair room when Gee was about to go step away from the elevator, Se Ju stopped her by blocking her on her shoulder. She was surprise with question in her eyes.
Se Ju: bro, I know you really want to help us, but we can't just let you risk your health again. Besides you have your own performance to think about. You have your friends who need you 100%. We can do this on our own (he smiled)
The other smiled at her too. She was still asking.
Japanese girl: Please Gee, you have already helped us before and you still are. Now, we want to help you (she smiled) Don't worry about us, we will make it.
Se Ju: yeah (he nodded at the other two male trainees)
Trainee: Now go back to sleep, rest.
Trainee: you will be busy tomorrow and so are we.
They escorted Gee holding her two arms but Gee was trying to free her self.
Gee: w-wait
Se Ju and Japanese girl held her in her legs lifting her.
Gee: Hahahaha wait, what are you doing? Hahaha hey wait where are you taking me?
They were lifting her to the elevator like she was a big plastic bag. They layed her on the elevator floor.
Gee: HAHAHAHAHA what did you hahaha
They were all laughing.
Se Ju: seriously bro, just leave it to us this time okey. Go back to your unit and rest, and sleep all day so you will regain all your strength.
Gee: (smiled but still laying on the elevator floor) then I guess I have no choice left now huh
They smiled and pressed the elevator button.
Gee was still laying on the floor smiling thinking about them. Then her smile vanished when she remembered how Yibo stopped her from helping them. She felt sad about it.
Gee: senior Yibo is such a cold guy but I don't think he is a bad person. He lied before just to help me and he is keeping my secret until now. But why is he like that to them? Just because he is not close to them? Will he really be concerned only if they are his friends? (her thoughts) I understand that he is just saying the truth but he doesn't need to say those things in front of them (she felt hurt and sad)
The elevator door opened on the 5th floor. She turned to her side. She was about to stand up when she noticed her reflection on the floor.
Gee: hmmm this floor is clean I can see my own reflection haha (she was laying on her stomach) aha! Hehe (she layed her back again, she bent her knees then pushed herself by kicking the wall)
She was sliding out from the elevator. She laughed at herself when she was able to get her whole body of the elevator floor and was three feet away from it. She bent her knees again and kicked the floor making her slide farther. She did it again for another three kicks and she was even farther from the door.
Meanwhile, Yibo immediately rode the elevator when it opened. He was still thinking about what happened earlier. How the remedial group were still determined to try again and how Gee was almost crying telling him about when to lend help to other people even if they are strangers. He didn't noticed he accidentally pressed the wrong floor. The elevator door opened. He reached the 5th floor. He was about to go outside but he saw someone laying on the floor. He was very shocked when he recognized it was Gee. She turned around then she is now standing up. Yibo was shocked on what he just saw. He was surprised to see that he was in the 5th floor. Then he pressed the button immediately.
Yibo: w-what's wrong with her? (he was shaking his head)
It was 8:10 in the morning when Gee and Yuna came down from their unit. Gee tapped Yuna on her shoulder. They both stopped walking and Yuna turned to her.
Gee: ah Yuna, you go ahead I, I will just-
Yuna: Brother told me to stop you from going to-
Gee: I will just take a look at them and greet them, promise I won't barge in
Yuna: (sighed) okey,
Gee smiled and ran off. Yuna was left looking worried for her when Leo came.
Leo: where is he going?
Yuna: he'll just greet them.
They were both looking at Gee. Watching her as she entered the remedial training room. After a minute Gee came out with a smile on her face. Then she smiled upon seeing them. She was waving while running to them.
Gee: hey you two, did you wait for me?
Leo and Yuna both nodded in sync. Gee laughed.
Gee: You two look good together haha
Leo blushed but Yuna just gave him a look. Then she walk first. Gee was smiling at Leo while elbowing him on his stomach. Leo wrapped his arms to Gee's neck choking her.
From a distance, Yibo was watching them he turned his look away and was gripping the chocolate bars on his pocket seeing the two. He walked away.
Gee went back to her piano lessons but Mr. Zhang was not there as he was even busier than before.
After the Chinese language training they went separate rooms for the vocal training. Male trainees are being trained by Ms. Geronimo while the females are being trained by Ms. Kim.
During their lunch. The remedial group entered the cafeteria everyone was looking at them. Gee was looking at them then she stood up and went to them. He put her arms to Se Ju's shoulder.
Gee: Seat with us (she said smiling to the rest)
Se Jus and the rest smiled back at her. When they were walking their way to Gee's table with Leo and Yuna, along their way everyone smiled at them gesturing "fighting"
Maya: We will be cheering for you
Maya's friend: Fighting!
Everyone were smiling except for Emma.
After the lunchbreak. They were all heading to their separate training rooms. Female trainees went to their room where Ms. Nana is waiting and male trainees to be trained by Yibo and Kite. Gee and Leo were laughing as they entered the training room but Gee suddenly remembered something
Gee: ah Leon, I forgot to go the toilet.
Leo: huh? Why do you always forget about it?
Gee: hehe just tell them okey? (then she ran off)
Leo was left shaking his head.
Leo: That kid's weird, good at memorizing dance steps but forgetful when it comes to names and toilet break.
Gee was running when she saw Emma walking and bumped to Yibo. She fell on her butt first.
Yibo: Im sorry (then he started to walk)
Emma was hurt waiting for Yibo to help her up but she was disappointed she tried standing on her own looking at Yibo. But Yibo was not looking back. She was left stomping on her feet. Gee hid herself when Yibo was getting close to her direction. Yibo didn't noticed her.
Gee: wah, what's wrong with him?
Then she walked out heading to the comfort room when she bumped to Emma. Emma fell on her butt first again. She immediately went to help her stand.
Gee: ah s-sorry, im sorry
Emma looking away.
Gee: a-are you okey?
Emma: yeah, t-thanks (then she walked away from her)
Gee came back and they were already starting the body conditioning routine.
When they were about to perform the part where the other one has to hold the other one on their hips, Yibo grabbed Leo on his shoulder and he gave him a look that he will be the one to do it, but Gee look at him too.
Gee: Thank you senior Yibo, but I think we can do it on our own.
Yibo glared to her. She was also glaring back. Leo was confused looking at the two. Gee grabbed Leo's hands, Leo was surprised. Yibo was shocked for a moment then he was looking at Gee's hands holding Leo's and they glared at each other again. When Kite noticed he immediately went to them and grabbed Yibo on his shoulder taking him away from them. Yibo sighed and turned his look away leaving them.
Leo was still shock. Gee was having a face of fighting her anger.
Leo: hey, did you two had a fight or something?
Gee just remained silent, then she sighed.
Yibo seems to be in a bad mood during the whole training. Gee was quiet without looking at Yibo. Good thing the training ended up at 5:00 pm so they can rest and spend the remaining hours practicing for their group evaluation.
Yibo went out first after he talked to Kite waving bye to everyone but without smiling. Gee was looking away. Leo was looking at Gee.
While they were practicing. Yuna noticed that Gee looks serious so she went to her.
Yuna: hey, what happened to you?
Gee seemed to snap back then she looked at her and smiled.
Gee: I think im hungry
Yuna: (smiling) should we eat first?
Leo and Maya's stomach suddenly growled and they all laughed. They went out and they were eating energy bars they bought from the cafeteria. While they were walking back to the training building they saw Yibo walking coming to their way with Mr. Zhang. They bowed and greeted them. Yibo and Gee were not looking at each other and they can feel that the two are having a fight. Yuna, Leo, Maya and Mr. Zhang are looking at them. They looked at each other asking with their eyes. Gee was not speaking. It was a moment of silence.
Mr. Zhang: ah! Where are you going to?
Yuna: To the training room
Mr. Zhang: w-what are you going to do there, you were all dismissed.
Yuna: we will train for our group perfromance what else do you think?
Mr. Zhang: ah right, yeah
Yuna: We will head first
Then they went separate ways.
Mr. Zhang: hey, Yibo what happened to the two of you? Did you had fight?
Yibo just gave him a look and turned away heading first to the remedial training room. Mr. Zhang was left confused.
