Chapter 1 - Pain

I honestly have no idea how the hell it happened. I was just going to visit my brother and that really should not have been that big of a deal. Except it was because we were never on the same page and way to stubborn to ever apologize to one another. In fact we never apologized for anything we did to each other. We fought and we ignored. But his Old Lady was pregnant and I wanted to meet the woman who was gonna make me an aunt.

So I took the road from my humble small town home of Bisbee to the second biggest city in Arizona;Tucson. I have driven this route so many times that it should have been the simplest thing in the world. I drove my scooter because I hated cars and they hated me. I could have gotten a motorcylce but I really wasn't a biker; that was my brothers forte.

Rounding the corner ad I was coming into town and I really should have been paying better attention. But it was too late and I hadn't seen the semi that had its tire pop and eighteen wheelers can't stop on a dime. But a scooter can and I threw myself from my little transportaion method and into the sandy desert banks that lined the roads. Damn driver hadn't seen me and no one else had either.

I was stubborn and cranky and there was no way I was waiting for an ambilance or a tow truck to take their sweet as time to get here. So I picked myself up, grabbed my scooter and began walking. I have no idea how long I was walking before the dehydration took over and I found myself watching the world turn vertical on me.

I really have been an idiot today. My feet hurt and so did my lungs. My mouth was dry and my lips chapped and this had to be the dumbiest shit I ever did. Guess my brother was right. I did have a death wish! Happily letting the blackness overcome me I closed my eyes and passed out.

I was awoken by rolling thunder. No not thunder...but motorcycles. If I could I would have laughed at myself. I was too sore and tired to do anything but meakly throw rocks at the passing bikers. Apparently the Sun God decided to take mercy on me because they stopped and muffled voices called out to one another.

Next thing I know shadows of bulking men loomed over me and I smiled. Bikers were safe. To many that was a fucked up logic but I grew up in a Sober M.C. and bikers meant family to me.

".....he...ight..." I blinked trying to make sense of what was being said but had to strain myself as one of the men kneeles beside me and blazing blue eyes looked at me. "We're gonna help you." his gruff voice sounded and I smiled brightly.

"No hospital. No cops. " I managed before it all went black again and I fell into my unconscious once again.
