I can hear water dripping and hit stone floor. I can hear sound of torch. I can feel my leg is weak. I can also feel my hand is chained and can't do anything. And my eyes is barely opened.
My eyes feel numb and I think it's the spell's after effect. I stand on my feet just to realize I'm inside a cell. I look at myself that still using body armor just like yesterday. I turn my back and found a bed. I examine the chain and try to cast heat spell, but I failed because I have no mana left.
After knowing I'm hopeless, I just lying down on the bed. "Hey, you're finally awake." I get shocked because of the unexpected voice. "Sorry to make you get shocked." Someone says again.
I back to my feet to search who's talking to me, and I find one man in his late 50s inside another cell across mine.
"I see them taking you here like... Three days ago? I don't know," three days? That's so long. "But yeah, you just standing there like you have no soul. What's really happen?"
I thinking for second. Remind what just I do and what's the outcome. "I go after Alexander, but things didn't go well." I says as leaning against my cell.
"You go after him? Why the hell you do that?"
"If it's not me, so who's gonna do it."
"Wait... Who are you? You're brave enough to reach him, which is... not all of man can."
"I'm Vincent, and you are?"
"My name is Blaire, but that's not what I mean."
"Do you expect I'm going to says 'I'm the son of Wilhelm' huh?" I says and make him surprised.
"You're Vincent Walch? Like son of the dead king?"
"Yes, and I know you're Duke of Switzerland region, is that right?"
"Yes, and that's why I think its awkward to meet without permission."
"No, it's okay, maybe I'm the heir but I still from a folks like you."
He doesn't says anything, and make the jail more quite. I lean against the cell as examine the jail. It's quite big, there some other prisoner but I can say none of them is criminal. There's also no guard except one guy who sleeping on his desk in far side. I look at the wall, and found some Deutchland banners that make me also think this is a fort not a totally prison.
"Why they take you?" I ask Blaire.
"It's obvious isn't? Alexander capture all of Duke and Duchess to have control of the Deutchland. He also capture activities and kill all of the protesters."
"How you describe him? A mad man?"
"Indeed."
The entire prison is back to silent, except for dripping water. Another prisoner in other cells are just sitting and look at the floor hopeless. But suddenly I hear a steps. Some pair of steps.
I look around but there's no other guards nor guy walks. In completely sudden move, the guard's head suddenly lifted but seems not by himself because of he's still sleeping. Some second later, the guard's head get bashed constantly to the table he sleeping on, and doesn't stop until the guard's bleeding.
"What the hell was that?!" Blaire watches in horror.
I place my finger in my mouth to make him silent, but he just get more stressed out. The steps that I hear suddenly get closer. And then the invisible spell expires, then reveal a woman with red hair.
"Miss me yet?" Ask Valerie.
"Don't ask about that thing right now, it's not so important." I says when she tried to cut the cell's lock with his burning spell.
She answer me when she have done with the lock. "So I claim that as a yes." Now she trying to opened my shackles.
"Uh...my Prince? Did you know her?" Ask Blaire.
I look at Valerie's that grinning at me. "Yes, I know her. She has some kind of bind spell on me."
She answer my explanation with a punch in my shoulder.
"I assume you two are friends then." Says Blaire.
"What about him? You know him, Vincent?" Ask Valerie.
"Yes, he is Duke of Zurich region." I answers.
"Name is Blaire, mademoiselle." He says.
"How you know I'm France?" Ask Valerie, and still working with my shackles.
"A... feelings?"
"Done." She says when she's done with my shackles. "I'm going to help Duke Blaire."
I walk my way outside my cell, and see other prisoner are wanting to get freedom. I'm walking to the dead guard to search his body.
"Did you knew, he has a key?" I ask Valerie while holding a prison key that he has.
Valerie just finished to cut the lock when he says. "E.. maybe I'm not thinking about that yet?" She has 'I feel dumb' look.
"Catch." I say as throw her a key for shackles. The other key is for the cells, and I starts to free other prisoner. When I free them one by one, I realized just me and Blaire the one using shackles.
All of the prisoner has been escaped from their cells, even if they're not escaped from the prison yet.
Suddenly one door opened, and show other familiar face. "Quick your ass up, I got some companions back there." He says as holding the door with his body.
"Gali? He's here too?" I ask Valerie and she's nodding.
"Okay all, take your weapon from the armory and join us out." Says Valerie as pointing to other doors.
Me and the prisoner including Blaire goes inside to take a sword, and some of them also taking a shield. For myself, I take my belonging, the Sword of Odense. After that, all of us back to the cells room where Gali and Valerie already behind the door that Gali came from.
"Want to lead the battalion?" Ask Valerie to me, that make me also realize that the prisoner is so many and maybe can outnumbered the guards.
"Okay." I say and look at the rest of battalion. "I know I don't know what all of you came from, what are you doing that make you jailed, or even your name. But I give you all my thanks to join my part against this betrayer." I raise my sword. "Patriam Nostram!" All of them chanting the Greywarden motto.
"Can you guys stop shouting? It's hurt my ears and I need some help back here too." Says Gali as he holding a door that tried to breached from the other side.
I nod to him, and he's understand what I mean. He get away from the door, and let the door opened. When the door breached, the guards stop in freeze after seeing us with the equipment. It's three against one battalion, and I think it's a dumb move.
The three guards are not moving frontwards and instead, they're moving backwards. They're not trying to run because they're already defeated inside. I get closer to them followed by others behind. I draw my sword and just to make them looks more defeated.
Suddenly someone dropped from second floor, and bash one of the guard's head with his war hammer. The two other guards trying to run but forced back and get chocked by force untill die.
"Doin' good Vincent?" Ask the horned man.
"You still remember us right?" Ask the fanged girl that dusting her shirt.
"Okay... Now I got Najeen and Riga, how much people you bring, Valerie?" I says in confused mind.
"Actually.. Sir. Fransisco with a quarter of your army is outside fighting against the fort's guard." Explain her.
"Okay that's too much." I admit. "But if they're here, let's not make them waiting." I says as leading all of them to the front door.
I opened the door as the sun burst in and almost make my eyes blind. I got to outside of the fort followed by others. The yard condition is exactly like Valerie says, Sir. Fransisco is in the middle of clash with the guards. All of them seems doesn't realize us yet, and make this even easier.
"Charge!" I shout as running to the fight scene and join them. The guards is not a big deal and we all easily take them down. And as a tribute, all of them chanting the leaders name, and that's my name.
"My Prince, since we take down the fort and release all of the prisoner, I think it's good move to claim the fort as yours." Sir. Fransisco says.
I think for some second and I think he's right. "Blaire, since you're the Duke, I'm going to give this fort in your lead. And as soon as Zurich claimed, you're going to lead your homeland." I says. "And for the main team, I think it's good time to run now."
"Thanks my Prince." Says Blaire and start bowing but I stop him.
"No one is going to bow except the enemy." I says and shake his hand. "Sir. Fransisco, shall you lead the way back to Paris?" I says when done shaking Blaire hand.
"A..sorry my Prince, but I think it's suicide move." He says and make me confused. "We're losing our Frankurt siege, some of man died some of them captured. I think they're already know that Gallia is helping your rebellion my Prince, they got some kind of barricade on the border." He explain.
"Truth, that's what make us late." Says Gali.
"Okay, so...where you suggest then? You know I got lack of alliance's land." I says.
"What about.. East Hesperia?" He suggests. (East Hesperia = Italy)
"I think it's good enough, but I never met the King or Queen." I says.
"Good for me because I do, Vincent." Says Najeen.
"Wait, since when? You never tell me" Ask Riga.
"You know they're Merchant's Kingdom, from laws, habit and ruler are about Merchant, and I'm a Pirate where I can make them safe." Explain Najeen.
"I get it." Says Valerie.
"Well I'm not." Says Gali.
Sir. Fransisco is looking at me expectantly, and he look like never wanted a child if it's going to be this annoying.
"Okay, enough I think." I says and make them quite. "Sir. Fransisco, want to lead the way?"
"Of course my Prince." He says and then lead us through the border.
What Sir. Fransisco says is right, it's more quite down here than what they say about France border. It takes one day to actually reach the capital. While marching, I look back to my quarter army plus my friends. This is longer than I think, but we spent our time talking with each other even with the army. The rivalry between Riga and Gali seems done, they've no doubt to talk and laughing with each other. And I think that's the point of being a leader. To combine them altogether.
