Heavy rain is happening. The land is wet and start muddy. Puddle is placed everywhere. Thunder blaring here and there. I'm sitting tall on Pegassi, while my friends sits on their own horse beside me. Behind me, there's a a dozen of my army, and also Galagher with half of his army with their Griffin. Half of my army and the rest of Galagher's army is taking back Zurich. In other hand, other half of my army and the Gallia is attacking from their border.
We're here. On the small hill. Small hill of the city of Wangen, behind the Sttugard fort. Suddenly, I hear horseshoe clapping. I glance backwards, and see Valerie in her glazing body armor, coming to me. It has silver colour for the plate and black colour for the plate trim. Her armour also have a golden fleur de lis on the middle of her chestplate, and a deep blue cape behind her. But actually, it's contrary with me that using black cloth also black hood and silver armour.
She looks like got something to hear but doesn't visible to others. "They've sent reinforcement." She says, and that's our cue. When Zurich attacked and the Gallia-Deutchland border broken, they're going to overwhelmed.
I use my hood to cover my upper head as usual. I draw my sword, followed by others. Even Valerie, Najeen and the Elf magi are draw their hands, ready to cast some spell. All of our hands are placed on our mounts's back neck. Ready to whisper some support to make them faster.
"Attack!" I let all of my oxygen in my lungs depleted. I lead the group with Pegassi. All of the Griffins has flying widely but still following my lead. We're ignore the heavy rain, that actually hurt our bare skin if we go any faster. But we're still riding our mounts faster and faster.
In the dark of the night and in the middle of the rain, the guards of Sttugard fort is not recognize our action. We're riding and flying closer untill they're see the Griffins, but it's too late. We've arrived on the backside of the fort. They got no full force there, and also has no big deal.
"Valerie!" My shout breaking the sounds of the thunderstorm. Valerie is understand what I meant, and she teleport all of the horse riders include us, to the of the top of the fort. It takes just one second to teleport all of us. The guard are startled when they realize the intruder has land on the top of the port. The nearest guard to our Griffins is taken down one by one. The front side of the fort is also chaos. Clanging sound of blade and chanting leashed.
I found my own opponent. My own enemy. He got a Zweihander on two of his hand. He's standing tall, sword on his front, ready to strike me whenever he ready. I also got my sword of Odense on my right hand, and unclenched left hand. He knows if he strike me wherever it is, I'm going to be outmaneuver him, especially with my lighter armour than him. He just stand unmoving and also me. I spin my sword forward and he stand still, almost startle but still keep the stance.
I suddenly leap forward and give him fake thrust to the stomach. He appear to rotate the sword and block my thrust, even if I'm not touch him. I use this chance to kick his chest. He pushed backward, doesn't falling but the sword flying pass his head. I powerfully swing my sword, focusing the attack to the neck, the unprotected skin. When the flesh opens, and the blood dripping, the man hold his neck and even from his full helmet, I can see scared face. I finished him with one kick, and let the man fall to a hard rock of fort.
I look around. The battle is not over yet, but I can see the guard is outnumbered. The fort guard get beaten by either Gallagher's, my army, or my friends. It's not important. Cause in the end, the win is our. Five guards still breathing, but surrounded by our force. They seem knows the situation, and one of them drop his weapon.
"I yield!" Shout the man with yellow brigandine and no helmet, which is the Captain of the fort. "We yield!" He nudge his soldier to also drop their weapon. They all kneeling and put their and on the air.
I walk pass my force and they give me space to walk. "Check the fort, maybe found prisoner." I says to Gali.
"Soldiers, on me." He says to my armies and then lead them inside the fort. Galagher order his army to move the guard that has given up, but not the Captain.
I kneeling in the front of the Captain. "You... are leading your army, for what you think is right and also for your King. So do I," I says sharply to him. "We have same respect here. We're same. We're leader, but with different side and traits."
He keep his mouth shut. He's not even moving or trying to fight.
"Tell me. What he knows about us. What Alexander told you.. about us, about the 'rebel' as you say."
"He say...you're the invader from first time. The land of Deutchland is owned by Alexander's fami-"
"Deutchland is owned by people inside it!" I cut him off. "We've never been conqueror since the kingdom created. We got Denmark, Austria, and Switzerland, by truce, not muscle. You're got fooled!"
"But he says...." He got confused I think. "The land is belong to Prussian." His word make a sharp sword to my stomach.
The Prussian? Interesting. Yes, they're the first created civilization before Germania, means long before Deutchland. They got land in East Deutch (Poland) and around the border to the Berlin that day. Native of Germania thinks they're being friendly. But things change, they got possessed by East Empire of Slavia. "Do you think the East have something to do with Alexander?" I ask when I got back to the real world.
"I... I don't know."
"What ab-" My voice get stopped when I heard something unusual. Something growling. It's too loud and echoing along the hill. It's impossible to see monster in the middle of the tunder storm. But even if I'm not see the thing, I already goosebump. There's nothing ordinary can make this sound. No other than one thing. The thunder trembling and there comes the lightning, revealing the land for some second. And I see it.
"Dragon!" Shout one of my army. All of entire army come outside to look at the sky. And all of them seeing the same things. A flying big bird with scaly skin and wings, horned head and four bulky leg. The dragon roaring for second time while moving in circle on top of the fort.
"Vincent! I'm going to distract the dragon with my army." Says Galagher and don't need my answer to move.
"Whoa, now this is big one." Riga babbling.
"I sure you got plan, right?" Ask Gali to me.
"Not yet." I says as looking to the sky. The dragon chase the griffins and give me some times to think. "I don't know anything about dragons, just the lore."
"This one is Blood dragon," mention Najeen. "Not the bulky one, but powerful for fire breath thing."
"But he seems not leash the breath." Says Gali and point to the dragon.
"Cause the power, they can't exactly using it any time, so they usually use it when confront the prey on ground." Explain Najeen.
"Is there's cast timing like mage?" Ask Valerie.
"There is," Najeen answers. "Five minutes, can be faster."
"Damn." Gali seem frustrated.
"If we can stop he from casting fire breath, maybe I can use sun strike to finish him off." Says Valerie.
I thinking for some second. Calculate every move that we can do. Which need to properly planned. "Najeen, can you use your force to hold the dragon still?"
"Not sure." She answers while shrugging.
"What if you hold the dragon's face to the ground using your force shield?" I ask again.
"Worth to try."
"Okay, I need you to do that. Riga, I need you to hit the top of the dragon's head right after he land," I says. "In other hand, I'm going to ride the back of dragon. Just in case if the shield break I only need to jump to top of his head, as long as it enough for Valerie to cast her spell--"
"What about me?" Ask Gali.
"I need you to shield Valerie if the unwanted things happen." I says and they seems understand what I mean.
"Okay... We should get ready now." Replies Gali and pointing to the dragon, that baited by Griffin to the ground.
"Riga! Get ready to crush him!" Shout Najeen.
"Always." He answer and gripping his sledgehammer tightly. I sheath back my sword and watch every single things.
The dragon is literally just following the Griffins. Well, just one Griffin cause the dragon seems not interested in other Griffins. The Griffin's rider is maneuvering his beast and try not to ger caught by the big monster. And as soon as his Griffin landing on our front, he quickly fly his ride again and let the dragon land roughly.
Riga is not hesitate to hit the dragon's head as soon as he land, and make the dragon more confused. I run swiftly to dragon's back, while Najeen hold the head with force shield. I climb the scaly and spiky body of dragon, and try not to mind the pain I got. When I'm on the top, I try to stand steadily and ready to hold the snot. I glance at Valerie, she's doing something I don't understand, but I assume she's chanting.
"How much longer Valerie?!" Ask Najeen while he struggling to keep the shield on.
"Give me some second!" Answer Valerie, but the dragon seem impatient to open the snout. I watch the shield closely. I found it has some spider web cracks pattern. From the dragon theeth gap, there's raging fire ready to launch. And suddenly the shield destroyed.
"Wha-" Even Najeen surprised.
"Get back Riga!" I shout and then leap to his head. "Argghh... You better worth to kill." I says to the dragon as holding the mouth to keep it shut. My position is blocking the dragon view and hugging the snot. I feel burn feelings around my arm through my brigandine. The dragon shaking his head extremely. But soon, I lose my grip and fall forward.
I feel my body flying forward and then the next second is blur. I remember the flash of fire. But I dont know if it's the one burning me, or it's Valerie's sun strike spell. But sure thing is, it's hot.
