Waking up to glaring light from the sunrise, I'm startled when I first glance around me but remember where I'm situated now.
Shaking off the drowsiness, I'm surprised at how sleeping on the ground had no effect and felt like how you would sleeping in a normal bed.
With my body rearing to go, I decide that water is my top priority as of now.
Remembering that animals gather around watering holes and that I need sustenance for this Goliath-like body, I set forth in a straight line north in an attempt to find a waterhole, embarking on my first journey as a lion.
2 hours later...
I've finally come across a watering hole, although a tad bit small it's good enough.
As I move onwards to the water, I remember that you have to purify the water as a human, but unsure if I would have to.
Deciding to take the risk, I begin drinking from the murky water as animals have stronger stomachs than humans.
Feeling refreshed and hydrated, I assess my situation and find multiple smaller animals on the other side of the water hole.
Taking my pick from the numerous choices, I choose my first prey in this new life, the warthog.
I can clearly see 4 warthogs on the other side, with only 2 being adults, I camouflage myself among the tall grass and casually make my way towards them.
As I trek closer and closer, I feel my heart pounding crazily and think to myself. 'This is crazy, I shouldn't be doing this, why am I doing this?'.
But pulling my shit together I move forward until I'm only a couple of meters away from my targets and decide upon killing the largest.
Knowing how dangerous this is. I make up in my mind to aim for the neck and bite as hard as this body will allow.
I pounce forward with surprising speed and reach them in an instant, alerted, the warthog turns around and charges me, lunging in for the neck I dodge it's pointed tusk and bite down.
The unpleasant sound of bones being crushed reverberated throughout the watering hole and instantaneously my prey becomes still as all life leaves its body.
Trying not to look into dying eyes I observe for any other predators looking for a quick snack.
With none in sight, I look upon my handiwork, nothing but a mangled esophagus and blood spilling out.
I silently pray for it to live peacefully in the afterlife and feast upon my first kill.
Unknowingly to me, a small white light entered my body as I began to dig in.
After...
Relishing in the taste, I am pleasantly surprised by the rich taste of the warthog, with the meat tasting very much like pulled pork and its blood not tasting like iron contrary to my expectations.
Whilst eating I head the sound of multiple hyenas approaching my locations, how I knew this you ask.
Well, their resounding laughs are a good indicator combined with the low growls.
Out the corner of my eye, I see about 7 or 8 hyenas rapidly approaching me.
I take a step back and observe my situation. As they casually encircle me I give off a thunderous roar, declaring this food mine.
They flinch at my booming roar but return to encircling me. It would seem I'm not intimidating enough.
With only a couple meters separating me from them. I can clearly see I overshadow them by a large margin and I'm multiple times over their body weight.
Ignoring that for a second, one of the cunts lunge at me and nip my leg.
'Ouch you dumb bitch, I'm gonna get you back fuckface'. I internally said.
As I keep getting bit all over here and there, I make up my mind and chase down the supposed pack leader.
Catching him in my jaws, I relish for a moment and end its pathetic life with a vicious bite upon its skull. It's pathetic pack members attempt to stop me but to no avail.
Like butter, my teeth go through its skull and into its brain. Furthermore like before, a slightly larger white light enters my body upon killing the leader.
Watching their leader being killed so easily the hyenas choose a tactical retreat as their for was far too strong.
Watching those useless fools run away I did not give chase as it was pointless and a waste of energy.
As I inspect the now dead pack leader, I come to the realization of how putrid-smelling they are. Remembering that they bath in their own piss or something like that, I'm disgusted by this poor excuse if a predator in front of me.
Washing my mouth out in the watering hole, I observe it and see no other animals in sight except for my victims, I finish filling up my stomach with the half-finished warthog and decide its time to end the day off.
With a full stomach and desire to sleep, I move away from the watering hole leaving 2 carcasses behind, an intact hyena and the head of a warthog.
Finding a shady patch of grass relatively far away from the watering hole, as it can attract all sorts of dangerous predators trying to quench their thirst.
I look up into the beautiful sunset and rest my eyes as I see the first star of the night.
Chapter End:
This chapter just flowed really well and wasn't hard to write up, also this was the first fight scene so please give me some of your thoughts.
I appreciate any and all criticism in my writing whether positive or negative, I won't respond to those who ask where the story's going and spoilers as I find many authors struggling with this among new novels.
If you have any ideas as to where this novel can progress, please feel free to comment them so as to give me more ideas I can write upon.
