(Shobek's POV)
I slowly looked around, the release of my tension was everywhere. I glanced down at myself and grimaced at the black blood that coated me. I sighed and rolled my shoulders back, noticing the sound of quick and quiet footsteps on the ramp. I faintly remembered passing her, I looked back at my mess and frowned.
"Oops." I sighed and kicked a limb out of my way as I sauntered towards my bathroom. I'll have to clean all of that up by hand if my powers haven't replenished by the time I finish my bath. "Kasey probably won't be returning here for a while."
I slowly stripped off my clothes as I walked to the steaming water, letting myself sink into its warm embrace as I relaxed. I leaned back and stared up at the ceiling.
Kasey was doing pretty good all considering. The few times when I've gotten sick of playing games, I ended up watching her. She made her own routine. Still trying to find familiarity in this place. Though her stamina and strength increased, her powers were still dormant. Fine by me I suppose. She'll be safe as long as she stays nearby. She has yet to actually find the way out of here anyway. "She's safe. For now."
I jumped when I heard her yelp, my gaze looking towards the bathroom door.
"...the hell happened to you?!" Kasey yelled.
"...n't matter. Where is.." That's a male voice.
"I just had to say something.." I got up and walked to the locker, quickly drying and sliding on my clothes.
"How did you find this place?" Kasey's voice was growing louder as rushed steps came down the ramp.
"I have always known it was here." The voice was familiar. I couldn't place it though. I was sliding on my shirt when the footsteps faltered. "What the hell happened..?"
I winced as I remembered my mess. I walked out and looked at the newcomer, stopping a few feet away from him. "What are you doing here?"
He was disheveled, bandages were messily wrapped around his arms and torso; his only article of clothing was torn-up denim jeans that had splotches of dried blood. Dirt was smeared around him and all in all, he looked like shit. Apophis looked towards me with a worried look before relaxing slightly.
"You two know each other?" Kasey seemed baffled and stared between us with confusion and concern.
I sighed and scowled, "sadly."
Apophis turned to look at Kasey and seemed to inspect her for a few seconds before giving her a wide grin, "Glad to see you are ok."
"Yeah, I am fine. Now what the hell happened to you??" Kasey practically shouted at him as I stood back and snickered. I instantly fell quiet again when she glared at me.
Apophis made a pouty face and whined like a child, "I'm hungry though~. Can't we eat first?"
Kasey crossed her arms and stared at him, rage filling the look in her eyes. I slowly stepped between them and looked at Kasey, "how about...You go get something cooking while I help him clean himself up. Afterward, we can eat and talk or kill each other... whichever comes first. Deal?"
Kasey stood still before finally turning towards the ramp, mumbling an 'Okay'. We both waited until we were sure she was gone. I looked at him and looked him up and down. "Damn, Cahtora did a number on you."
He scowled, "she wanted to see if I could shed skin like a snake as a human. When I told her I can't she insisted on proving me wrong." Apophis shuddered and an exhausted look finally appeared. "She took her time and forced a new drug down my throat. It hasn't fully worn off."
"That's why you can't heal?" I walked towards the bathroom, leading him towards the tub before turning and going back to the lockers.
"Yeah."
Apophis winced as he undid all the bandages as I scavenged around two different lockers before finding what I was looking for. I walked back over and sat the clothes to the side along with the towel. I looked towards his clothes he had discarded and frowned. "Can I burn those?"
"Be my guest..." He mumbled as he sank into the water, a moan slipping from him as he grimaced. "Damn, that hurts.."
I kicked his old clothes away slightly before letting a fire spark to life. "I honestly expected you would be dead."
"Yeah, well... No one's plan is going right apparently. Samael is combing every inch of his land for her."
"He won't find her. He wasn't supposed to find her when she was with you. Mind explaining?" I watched the fire burn the clothes to ashes and turned towards him again.
He peeked up at me, "are you going to join me or just stare at me the whole time? Because I would be flattered, but that form of yours is creeping me out. I don't understand why you like it so much."
"It makes me look less threatening."
"I don't know...A twelve-year-old slaughtering dozen of monsters seems even more terrifying than a grown adult doing it." He closed his eyes again and I took that opportunity to crouch down and force his head underwater. He flailed a little before I finally let him lift his head back up, he started coughing and gasping as soon as he broke the water. He turned his gaze to me as he used his hand to wipe his hair out of the way, "asshole!!"
I smirked, "I guess you were right. It's scarier being overpowered by a little kid, huh?"
He simply grumbled a reply as I stood back up and walked over to the lockers again. I grabbed a bar of soap and threw it at him, it hit his head and he howled a curse as I walked out of the bathroom, "clean yourself up."
