Chereads / It Can Only Be You / Chapter 46 - Caged her

Chapter 46 - Caged her

Lowering his shotgun seat window Ryan asked with little confusion and irritation. "What are you doing here?"

Squinting her eyes she asked back. "I was going to ask you the same."

"Going back home." Giving her a small sigh he answered her question first.

With a small nod she paused before replying to his question. "Me too."

"Don't you still have classes to attend?"

"Got cancelled."

"Then get in." He plainly said.

"..."

"Get in Nora." This time his voice had a pinch of sternness in it.

Which was clearly noticeable to both Mike and Nora. Which also confused not just Mike but Nora too. For her they were not even close enough to give each other advice, let alone orders. However, not wanting to insult him in front of others, Nora gave one look to Mike as a goodbye before getting inside the car.

Even once the car left, Mike didn't budge from his place. What just happened stunned him a lot.

He knew that Nora is different and also that she has got so many unexpected revelations for him. But having connections with titled people is out of the box. Her unexpected relationship with Ryan Gill was too sudden for him.

Just now their interaction looked very close but only from Ryan's side. From Nora's, all he detected was the distant and cold side which she shows to everyone everyday.

The way she looked at him only shows how unfamiliar she was to him. He felt Nora's coldness but also felt Ryan's genuine warmth and care.

As a man he could see what other men thought or desired easily. There his strictness towards Nora was not just for her, it was also for Mike to see. Ryan wanted to show his authority on Nora to Mike on their first meeting only. That shows his possessiveness too.

Mike wasn't threatened but got a lot curious. He couldn't understand their relationship at all. He finds Nora interested, however her relation with Ryan doesn't sound good to him or to their future.

Ryan's possessiveness or even his presence in Nora's life can be bothersome for them or for ... Parth.

"Drop me anywhere near the subway." Nora said to Ryan. She did get in the car for Ryan but letting him drive her back home everyday isn't right for her.

Not minding her words he spoke. "That I'll decide. Now tell me how was your first day in college?"

"Ryan-"

"I have got some work with Uncle Cater too. So how was your day?"

"...Nothing special."

"Someone bullied you?" He worriedly asked.

"No."

With a relief he nodded his head. "It's a good start then. Amm... did Parth come for you?" He looked at her for an honest answer.

Without looking at him, Nora passively called him. "Ryan."

"Hmm?"

"Never order me again."

"Sorry for that. I thought Parth's friends were bullying you."

"Mike won't bully me. And I hope next time you talk to me first before telling my matters to Mr. Gill or Uncle."

Without having any debate Ryan agreed to it. "Okay. But for that I need your number first."

"Mr. Gill has mine." Nora shrugged the question.

"I can't ask my dad to give me a girl's number even if it's you. That would be a little awkward."

Nora couldn't understand what awkwardness he was talking about, though she still gave her number. "...××××××××××××."

"×××××××××××× give me a miss call on this. I can't feed yours for the time being."

"Sister, I am telling you this school is so old fashioned that I can't imagine another day here."

"You sure know how to be picky. One day you compliment and another day you complain." Nora sighed helplessly. She was on her way to the library when she got Krish's call.

"They don't allow cellphones in class! They don't allow dating, even though I am not interested in it. They asked me to keep my gadgets in my locker. I am at a loss for words to describe how annoying it is." From the other side of the phone Krish aggrievedly complained and complained.

After Krish's admission in middle school, Krish although got a lot of friends he also had a hard time to adjust with the new environment.

His habit of speaking in English, made him little distant from the ordinary life of the students around him. His peers would judge him as an arrogant boy until they actually started knowing him.

Apart from that, his mischievous and blatant behaviour made him popular but also a good target for his teachers. Not to forget, how much Krish himself finds it hard to adjust himself to all those rules and regulations which he never followed before.

Giving another sigh, Nora spoke. "They are not old fashioned, they are strict. And that's good for your character development. Please don't make your home teacher call me again and again. It's too much pressure for me too."

"I don't do it purposely. Sister, I want to change my school. Please." Krish begged. Friends matter to him, but not more than his comfort, which he cares about the most.

"Krish. Don't be spoiled just because you can." Nora sternly reminded him of his boundaries.

No matter where they decide to live, she won't allow him to use his power just for his convenience. Moreover the school Krish is in, is the best in the country.

"Then Sister please do something at least~" He coquettishly called her.

Nora's nose squinted by his call. Melting to his call, she decided to put a reward to persuade him. "I can't do anything about that, but If you top the exam, I'll buy you a polaroid camera."

"..." Krish paused. Knowing that it's impossible to make her change his school anyway, he accepted the deal. "...Promise?"

"Promise."

"Okay i'll do it then. But only for the camera."

His instant cute affirmation brought a small smile to her lips. "God boy. Now- Ahh"

Before she could complete her words, a sudden pull to her elbow made her almost shout in horror. "What the-"

"Sister? Sister!" Krish afraidly shouted for her. His voice clearly shows his part of horror.

Without wasting her time to check on the person who pulled her, Nora instantly replied to Krish's voice. "Hmm. I am here. Worry not."

"Are you alright? Why did you shout? What happened?" He vigilantly asked.

"Nothing. I just lost my control over the phone." She made up her lie.

Krish sighed deeply. Taking two deep breaths he calmed himself. "You scared me sis. Take care. I'll go first."

"Hmm." Humming to his words Nora hung up the call.

"Look who I got here." Parth smirked as he caged her between his arms and the wall behind her.
