"What do you think you are doing Ryan?" Raina angrily looked at her Son.
"Mom please don't create a scene over such a small thing."
"Small? That is a small thing for you? My son being someone's driver is nowhere small thing to me!" Raina sternly spoke.
Her blood pressure kept rising in anger. This morning she got to know about his son's interaction with Nora Steave. She was stunned to know how that girl was doing the same thing her father had done to her husband, Karan Gill.
She instantly wanted to talk to that girl but at the end of the movement Ryan stopped her. He also took away her cellphone to make sure that she won't be able to call her.
His son, taking some other girl's side, irked her immediately. She couldn't accept the fact that his son would support the girl who she hates the most. He would take the side of the family who she despised the most?
Forgetting all her reasoning she started shouting in anger. And before they could fight more, Karan entered the drawing room too.
"What is going on?" Karan asked with little dissatisfaction.
Raina mockingly sneered at his question. Turning to face her husband, she regarded nothing and asked back to him. "Oh so you finally have the time to check on us?"
Karan could only give up his hopes on his wife and ask his son instead. "Ryan."
"Yes dad."
"Speak."
Ryan got a little awkward. He and his father rarely talk to each other on personal subjects. He didn't know where to start or what to say about Nora. "I... Remember weeks ago you asked me to bring Nora back home after classes on her first day of college?"
"Yeah so?"
"Later I checked and saw that our schedules are kinda similar. So nowadays I am dropping her back home." Ryan honestly answered.
However there was one lie hidden behind all this drama. Every student got the right to choose his own teacher and Ryan did all accordingly, matching to Nora's scheduled classes. It wasn't a coincidence but more like everything went according to his plan and no one would know about it.
His intentions weren't wrong, nor was he trying to hide something from anyone. In fact he himself doesn't know what he was doing or why he was acting this way because of Nora.
The first time when he met her, he felt something different, something he never felt before. He doesn't know what it was, but the more he stays with her the more he wants to have it.
Acting so weirdly was something he wasn't embarrassed of, but more like confused about it. He cares for Nora, that he understands. But more than that he never thought of having it.
Before Karan could say anything on that, Raina angrily shouted again. "Nowadays? You have been doing it regularly for weeks!"
Ryan felt embarrassed by her words. All his dad asked him to do was for Nora's first day of college, after that he himself took all those decisions.
Knowing that because of his mother's reaction his father can easily suspect his actions, Ryan got angry too. "Mom, it's not a big deal!"
"Shut up! Nothing is a big deal for you. And Karan, how dare you send my child as someone's driver just because you want to serve that person."
After all these years, she doesn't care what her husband does with Steave's or with himself. But if Karan interfered with her son's life, she wouldn't sit and watch. Knowing that it was her husband's order for Ryan to take care of that Steave's daughter, she got all angered again.
Karan's eyes got squinted with clear discontentment. He knows that his wife despises his actions and he didn't object to her even. But her hatred for his friend is never acceptable to him.
"Raina. Mind your words. What's the problem if Ryan wants to drop Nora back home? If he had done the same for his girlfriend then what? Would you still mind?"
His words shocked Ryan. His eyes widened hearing such words from his father, but he didn't speak or react to anything.
Raina scoffed loudly. "I would be mad with joy. But that girl is not and can never be his girlfriend. You just want my son to serve her the same way you did to her father. But I won't let that happen no matter what. My son will serve no one."
Ryan walked to his mom and held her elbow to calm her and assure her unsettled heart. "Mom, you are thinking too much. I am not serving her. In fact Nora doesn't like me to come and pick her up even. I do that because I want to."
"I said shut up Ryan! I am not talking to you anymore." Without listening to her son or believing anything he says, she turned back to face Karan and spoke.
"Karan, I compromised with you and with your morality. But if your morality comes anywhere near to my son, and asks him to do the same as you did, I won't let that happen."
"Why are you exaggerating things?"
"I am not Karan. My son won't be anyone's servant like you. If you had listened to me earlier, we would not have seen this day. That hotel would have been our totally. Not just half with someone's partnership."
"That partnership came with their investment, which my friend did for my future." Karan sternly corrected her right away.
"My dad could help us too." Raina said back.
"I won't take your family's help ever."
"And here comes your ego."
"Not my ego, but their evils."
"Karan." Raina bit her lips with self-consciousness.
"It won't change the fact." Karan didn't stop.
The hotel where Nora stayed for her initial days was owned by no one but by Karan Gill with 40 percent of shares. Whereas as of now, as a partner, the one who owns 35 percent of that hotel shares was owned by Nora. Earlier by her father, Naitik Steve.
Years ago when Karan got an idea of opening his hotel, Naitik helped him a lot with all his connections and investment as being his friend. Although Karan brought that idea, he was incapable of handling the investment fully alone.
At that moment Naitik helped him with everything he needed. Where Raina's, his wife's side family was also capable of helping Karan on that, however they were also capable and also good at doing evil bad things. The corruption runs in their veins. He preferred to only have loose ties with them.
Not minding if he hurt his wife or what, he walked to his son, placing his palm on her shoulder he assured him.
"You can do whatever you want. No one will stop you." Saying that he left the hall.
"Karan!"
