Nanami's feet froze with fear. She had heard from some of her friends that the Land God's Shrine was hunted. She hurriedly read the name of the shrine. As she had thought it was the dreadful shrine of the Land God. She thought that the man she had saved was one of the many ghosts of the shrine.
The eerie feeling and the voice that was coming closer every moment made Nanami feel like fainting. She thought that her eyes would now close, she would be eaten by the ghosts and will wake up in heaven.
But out of the blue she saw two children dressed in a kimono and masks over their faces. They came to her and said, "Master Mikage you have returned. Master Tomoe will be very happy to see you. Please follow us." Nanami thought that the children had gone mad as they failed to notice that there was a girl standing before them and not Mikage, their master. She was about to tell them but they had already taken her inside the shrine.
She saw a tall man with two knifes in his hand. The man was grinning. He suddenly shouted in the top of his voice,"Mikage, you left me for 20 years and now I am going to kill you. You said you were going to see the town. And now I am going to show you the hell."
He had brought the knife near Nanami's throat when he suddenly shouted at the two children, "Damn it, Onikeri, Kotetsu. How could you say that this teen girl is the Land God Mikage?? He is much more great than this mere mortal. Girl who sent you here???"
Nanami who was already fainting at the sight of this ghostly man replied, " Kind Ghost, a man named Mikage sent me here. He kissed me on my forehead and gave me the directions of this shrine. He said that from now on I am the mistress of this house. He told me that by a sign you a would believe my words. Please don't eat me dear ghost. I don't have anything personal against you." Nanami had used the last bit of her strength to say this. The man looked at her quietly for a minute and said to the children,"Put on the lights so that I can see this girl!" The children obeyed him and put on the lights.
Nanami saw that it was no ghost but a boy of about 18 years. He was the most handsome face she had seen in her life. He had silvery hair with a matching long, bushy, silvery tail. He had two ears on the top of his head like a fox. Nanami gasped and said to herself,' he doesn't look like a fox. He is a fox, a fox-man sort of person." Now she felt as if this was the biggest mistake of her life that she chose to believe the words of a stranger named Mikage.
