Yami. Yami. Yami. For some reason that name continued to ring in his mind. Tatsuya didn't understand why, but it was almost as if he was called that before. Tatsuya got interested and he wanted to see what the word meant and it translates to...
"Darkness"
Right after he said that, he felt a sharp and extreme pain in his shoulder. He lifted up his sleeve only to find that his mark, which used to be a darker flesh color before, was now a pitch balck color with a red outline. It felt like someone was driving over a hundred needles into that spot at the same time. It was the most pain Tatsuya had ever experienced. He groaned and winced in pain until the pain slowly subsided. Tatsuya inspected the mark, but after that intense pain and change in color, which makes it look like a tattoo now, everything was back to normal. Since he couldn't do any more, he decided to try to go to sleep. He layed in bed for a long time, tossing and turning before finally drifting to sleep.
'HAHAHAHAHAHAHA'
'No please stop it! I beg you! Don't kill us!'
'I'M SORRY, BUT I GUESS THAT SURVIVING THIS IS NOT IN THE CARDS FOR YOU! NOW, GOODBYE'
'Noooooo!'
Tatsuya sat straight up and as he awoke from the dream. He was shivering in a cold sweat and was hyperventilating.
'What was that? Why can't I remember anything other than those words? Who was screaming? Who was killing them?' His mind was filled with many questions as he got ready for school in a daze.
Just like any other day, he went through his normal routine and went straight to class. During class, he was so confused and anxious about what had happened the day before that he couldn't focus at all during the lesson. Halfway through the class, the principal called for an emergency assembly. Tatusya became tense for he knew precisely what it was about.
The principal cleared his throat and began, "Now I know you all must be wondering about why I have called you today. Yesterday there was an inccident involving your fellow schoolmates, Aki Shimaki and Haru Komoto. Yesterday they were both found dead behind the south wing of the school." about five or six policemen walked out and onto the stage, "These fine gentlemen are here and will be pulling in students who are thought to be on the scene. They will be pulling in students in groups of five or so at a rime. Please, cooperate with these man. We only want to solve this case, so please answer truthfully. That is all, thank you for your time. You may all go back to class."
Tatsuya sat there in complete shock. Many thoughts were racing through his mind. 'Will I be called in? Will I be a suspect? Will I be questioned? Will I be arrested? Will they find out that it was me who killed them?'
Still, in a daze, he followed his class back to the room. Though after the assembly Tatsuya was even more on edge than before him trying to focus seemed impossible.
During the whole day, they were calling in students to be questioned over the PA system. Then during lunch the speaker announced, "Tatsuya Saburou, please report to the front office immediately, Tatsuay Saburou, please report to the front office immediately."
Once Tatsuay heard those words he knew he was done for. He nervously entered the room and then the questioning began.
The officer said, "Ok, so I'm going to ask a few questions and it would be best if you were to answer truthfully."
Tatsuya nodded his head shyly.
"So, where were you during lunch yesterday?"
"I-I was behing the school near the north wing. I was hanging out there because I normally don't eat lunch anyway and it's usually quiet over there."
"Did you hear anything strange like screaming or sounds of a struggle?" the police officer began.
"No, I didn't hear anything." he replied quickly.
"Was anyone with you to confirm your alibi?"
"No, I'm usually alone anyway and I only have one friend here at school and we only really talk in the morning and after school."
The officer looked at Tatsuya suspiciously as he was trying to figure out if he was being truthful before saying, "Hmmmm, ok well your free to go."
Tatsuya smiled and left the room. He was stunned. Even though that was super nerve-racking, it was short, and he survived. Though the fact that he has no one to confirm his alibi may be a problem later on. There was a thought in the back of his head that this wouldn't be the only time he would get called in.
He walked home as usual, with today's events still troubling him and in a daze. Before he realized it, he was already in the safety and comfort of his apartment. Tatsuya relaxed a bit, did his homework, and studied.
By the time he was finished it was about 6pm. Since he was poor, he often had instant ramen since it was cheap and he could buy it in bulk. While he was eating, he had a sharp pain that grew right behind his eyes. Tatsuya just thought that it was a migraine and took some medicine. Though this pain was intense and it felt like someone was pushing there finger directly into his temples. He held his head while groaning in pain. He strained to keep his eyes open as he turned off all the lights and went to bed.
To his surprise, he went to sleep quickly unlike the restless night he had before. In the middle of the night, Tatsuya was awoken by slight banging and ruffling sounds accompanied by the sound of footsteps. As he woke up, he drowsily looked to his left to find a tall man that was shrouded in darkness. Then, all of a sudden the world went black.
