After an unknown amount of time, Lucifer woke up. Due to his head being dizzy and the pain in right arm it took him some time to gather himself and remember about the incident before he fainted. He looked at himself to check his injuries and again got surprised to find that the wound on his arm was already closed. Looking at the ground he found some patches blood there.
Trying to remember how many times he got surprised after waking up from the lab incident, he didn't waste much time thinking why he didn't find anything wrong even after losing a lot of blood. Turning around, he gazed at the island he currently standing upon.
This island was much bigger than his initial one. It would be exaggeration to say that it was filled with greenery, but still it was much better than the one he was on before. There was a large mountain in the center of the island that could be seen even from the shore. From the hot sand beneath his feet and the hot temperature he arrived at the answer that it was a volcanic mountain, mostly the reason of him arriving at this conclusion was the help he received from his 'sixth sense'.
Just ahead of him was a forest with tees and bushes. He started his exploration. Entering the forest, he felt much calmer because it reminded of the picnics he had with his family. He could even hear the birds chirping. After walking for some time, he arrived at a small pond, which was surprisingly clean. There he saw a pack a rabbit drinking water.
He sighed at this scenery, thinking how peaceful it was, but it truly had been more beautiful and peaceful if only the seemingly head of the pack of rabbit didn't have sharp teeth, a third eye and a pair of small wings. Excluding the stares, the rabbits were giving him, of course. Which felt like he was being hunted rather than them being hunted by him for food.
Keeping in his mind the setting of sun and with nothing at hand that he could use as a weapon he decided to not try anything funny. So, he excused himself from there, after drinking to his heart's content, and returned to the shore. With no experience of living in wild and with no help from his 'sixth' sense, he decided to sleep where he woke up.
The night was quite uneventful, not minding the strange screams or especially strange sounds coming from the forest. He decided to find himself a weapon for defending and, of course, to have a higher chance to turn the menacing-giving prey to an edible prey.
He built a shabby looking spear from a sharp rock, comfortable griping wood, and also, after trying his luck, found veins hanging of the trees with the discovery that you can feel a lot of chills down your spine when trying to climb a tree whose surrounding is filled with a bone-cooling atmosphere, and with some creepy stares who knows from where.
After going to the pond, he found a smaller pack of rabbits with no 'new advanced version' of rabbit in them. There were only three rabbits. He readied himself to try his luck, because of having no hunting experience, and with the element of surprise, he managed to kill one of the rabbits and after some sprints of full force he managed to secure a second rabbit.
With some dried woods he started a fire, with enough effort to make his face red, after drawing the blood out of the body, and started his 'worse than worse' dismantling, which caused almost half of the meat to go to waste, with the mind set of 'something is better then nothing' he started eating. Luckily, he had watched some TV programs which showed the basics of the basic of dismantling which earned him the achievement of not wasting the whole rabbit.
It took him quite some time to find the objects for the weapon, adding the time which he wasted by walking around, killing and roasting the rabbits, thus by the time he was done securing food in his stomach and cleaning the place the sun had already set.
Fortunately for him, today was a full moon, which he could easily vote as one of the most beautiful things to exist, he kept looking at the full round moon which made him forget about his situation and everything troubling his mind, providing him peace of mind which he truly needed.
Just like that, without him knowing his mind drifted and soon he fell soundly asleep.
Deep into the night, when moon was high up in the sky, the sound of crawling, dragging, bones rattling, and some heavy footsteps started echoing in the air with the strange moans of someone or something, who by the sound, was in extreme. By the sound of it, there were many of them.
Lucifer who was sound asleep, started feeling uncomfortable. In his sleep he was hearing strange voices which he couldn't trace. He slightly opened his eyes and saw a twisted foot coming in his direction slowly, very slowly. His mind being blanked couldn't make out what was happening, so he shut his eyes again. Being disturbed by the voices again he again slightly opened his eyes and found the scene he saw before but a little closer, still not figuring the sight he saw he closed his again intending to ignore it.
Lucifer couldn't help but open his eyes again by the increasing volume of the voice a little annoyed. What he saw was a pair of feet distorted at an impossible angle moving towards him.
'A foot.... something...moving...…
A ...…. foot...a …. Moving?.....one...…
A….moving foot??...A MOVING FOOT??!!'
Lucifer abruptly opened his eyes and found the foot was already right beside him. He looked up to see its owner, only to see something horrifying moving towards his neck. Lucifer instinctively backed off and saw the owner of the foot in clear moon light.
It was face with an equally twisted expression on it. It had one empty eye socket with a broken nose, tilted neck to a fearsome degree, the top of his spine sticking out from the of the back of its neck and a pale green skin with worms moving in it.
Focusing on the number of sounds coming towards his direction he turned his head only to see him being almost surrounded by members of same species. His heart beating fast enough for him to hear it beat. He jumped in the pond, the only escape route he could find, and started running once out of it.
Taking advantage of his speed he moved in the direction of the mountain. Luckily the 'friends' he encountered in his 'race' didn't seem like they were in the mood to run and there didn't seem to be much of these 'friends', at least in this area.
He had already assumed devil-may-care attitude in figuring from where they pop out from. He arrived at foot of the mountain and just when he thought that he could, at least, catch his breath, he felt the ground shaking, which cause his face to be distorted.
Because he can guess the cause of the ground shaking. Well, it seems that mister mountain got fed up for holding himself for so long, so honorable mister mountain decided to release it pent up 'feelings. In short, the volcano is about to erupt.
