Out in front of the Guild the duo of the still astonished Clarence and the now giddy Nathaniel walked up the stairs. In the Guild Hall Nathaniel placed the four mason jars on the counter in front of the Guild worker Rachel. Rachel's face was filled with astonishment but, before Nathaniel could question it Clarence started to give a debrief of what happened. As Clarence told the story her face slowly started losing emotion. By the end of the debrief she simply handed Nathaniel three of the mason jars stating that the quest only required one before turing around and heading upstairs.
Nathaniel looked to Clarence in utter confusion. Clarence simple muttered "She's going to get the Guild Master."
Shortly after, she came back downstairs followed by a huge being. Nathaniel looked in awe at the Guild Master. His name is Fumi a Bronze ranked Adventurer and the Guild Master. Outside of Samuel he was the strongest and most notable Adventurer in all of Welbrook City. Known as Oni Kage he stood at least three times taller than Nathaniel, his body was large but, not fat. His long hair tied in a chonmage and a thick bushy beard that nearly hid his face below his cheekbones. Each thunderous step he took cause the stairs to bow in his wake. After what seemed like an eternity to Nathaniel but, truly only a few seconds in reality Fumi stood before Nathaniel.
With a voice as thunderous as his footsteps Fumi asked "It seems like you've given my staff quite a shock. It's not very often that people come in here wishing to take the Exam let alone pass it. You do understand that the quest you took was a promotional quest used to gauge who should be promoted to the next rank. The manner in which you completed the quest would be hard to replicate even for a seasoned Iron ranked Adventurer. This could truly only be accomplished by the Kin of Samuel. Well anyway I just wanted to congratulate you on passing the Exam and becoming a member of our Guild." he finished it off with a heavy hand pat on the shoulder and a hearty laughter before returning upstairs.
As to snap Nathaniel out of his trance Rachel called out to him before explaining that there are a couple more steps before he can receive his license. Of course Nathaniel already knew this but, quietly let her finish.
"First I must prick your finger to get a drop of blood to put into the abilities analyzer and Second evaluate your rank based off Exam performance and your ability results."
Nathaniel put out his index finger allowing Rachel to prick it. Placing the drop of blood between glass strips before securing it into the abilities analyzer. It will take a few minutes before the blood is analyzed and the results are ready. So Rachel decided to explain a little further about the analyzer.
"The blood analyzer takes the blood of Adventurer's and looks for specific traits and gene markers comparing them to a database. If its' unable to recognize a trait or markers it will evaluate it, log it, and make a prediction of its use. At the end it gives an understandable readout of its' evaluation. We use this to grade ability stats and special skills that can be seen on the guild license."
Shortly after the explanation an audible noise was produced by the analyzer indicating that the results were ready. Rachel showed the results on a screen in front of her and one that faced Nathaniel so both could look over the results. Nathaniel looked at his results running through it in his mind.
Race: Half Dwarf/half Cloud Giant
Age: 14
Class: Tanker
Rank:???
Strength: A
Dexterity: C
Speed: D
Durability: S
Intelligence: C
Wisdom: C
Charisma: A
Skills:
Suidae Blood
Mellivorinae Skin
Mass Protect
These stats were OP, to have an A ranked ability was already considered great but, having two was crazy. Then there's the S ranked ability which is an indication of a future Bronze or higher ranked Adventurer. On top of all this are three skills although he was only familiar with Mass Protection, a skill allowing a person to take on the damage of their party or group of people. He then saw his class Tanker the shield of a party taking the damage and allowing others around him to rest or attack. Behind healers they are the most appreciated members of any party.
Rachel snapped him out of his thoughts to tell him that she evaluated him as a Tin Ranked Adventurer as that is the highest rank anyone can begin at without special consideration from the central office. With that she smiled trying her best to hide her shock and handing him his new license. Clarence having looked at the same screen as Nathaniel nudged him before saying " Hey we should form a party." Nathaniel responded with a resounding "Yes, sounds great!" before leaving the Guild to tell his father William the great news.
Behind a desk on the second floor of the Guild unbeknownst to anyone Fumi looked to the scene smiling the only thing that could be heard was "Samuel's Successor".
