In the kitchen Leonardo was whispering something to Rebecca. As a result, Rebecca gazed at Angela who was making the dough peeped at them from time to time. The old lady grinned and nodded after listening to the boy. Leonardo looked at Angela from afar and fleered at her. Angela lips widened and formed a cute smile, she responded with signs which said, "Crybaby!"
Leonardo always loses his cool whenever Angela called him by with that word. He frowned at her in anger. "Goblin princess!", he made signs in response. Angela brows raised in surprise; she narrowed her eyes, "I will make you pay later!", and gestured with her hands. Leonardo pouted and left the kitchen. Rebecca was enjoying the view of the young ones, therefore she sighed in helplessness.
In the hall, Leonardo was cursing out loud, "Stupid! Stupid! I hate her so much!"
"Who do you hate so much?", Jennifer asked from afar when she heard his loud curses. "Oh~ no one!", Leonardo answered with a forced smile. He didn't notice Jennifer's presence. "Hmm~ are you lying to me, Leonardo?", asked Jennifer with a focused gaze and closed-in the distance. On the other hand, Leonardo had a hunch of being questioned by his grandmother, he quickly ran upstairs and said out loud, "It's nothing grandma, don't worry I was just saying some dialogues from the story book. See you later!"
Jennifer knitted her brows at his sudden behavior. She indeed wanted to ask the reason behind his loud curses but Leonardo was quick witted and ran away. "Leonardo come back here!", she ordered from behind. "I need to go to the restroom grandma! I'll come back later!", he replied without even looking back. "Then make sure you tell me or I'll punish you for lying to me!", Jennifer warned him. Leonardo turned around and looked at her from the staircase and said with a serious gaze, "You are so mean, grandma! At least let me keep some secrets to myself!"
Jennifer gaped at his rejoinder. "What secrets?"
"I cannot hold it in any longer, we'll talk later!", said Leonardo and ran into his room and locked the door.
Jennifer chuckled, "Look at this sneaky little brat keeping secrets from me at such a young age!" she shrugged her shoulders despondently and went to the study room.
At night, Leonardo was playing video game with Angela who lost to him eleventh time in a row. Angela was getting agitated while Leonardo was laughing in joy of beating her. Angela's veins were pulsating after listening to his mocking laugh, "(chuckles)—didn't I warn you not to take me so lightly! Now who's the crybaby! Hahaha!"
Angela averted her gaze and looked the other way for a moment. Leonardo laid down on the floor and said lazily, "I am feeling so satisfied right now!", as he glanced at the girl next to him. The latter looked back at him with annoyance, "Hahaha!" Leonardo scoffed her again.
Angela bit her lips in vexation and said, "Shut up, you crybaby! When I'll beat you tomorrow in the playground you'll go crying to your grandma, like a crybaby you are!"
"How rude! You are also a crybaby Angela!", Leonardo retorted. While Angela was getting upset at his mockery; she got up and turned off the screen and went down stairs without giving him a glance.
When Leonardo confirmed that Angela has really gone down stairs, he immediately picked up the receiver and dialed a number from his telephone.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
"Ah! Leonardo! How did it go sweety?"
"It went okay! She has already left!", replied Leonardo.
"That's my boy! Very good! –now do as I told you in the morning, alright?"
"…Aunt Amanda…I think Angela might cry if we do this. I don't want to hurt my her, she's my best friend."
"I know sweety! It'll be hard for her and for you too…but when we'll surprise her, she will definitely forgive you!"
"…"
"…Hmm— if you don't want my help then I will tell your grandma everything that you planned." Amanda apprised him.
"No, no, no! don't do that! Grandma already suspects me. Please, don't tell her! I want to surprise Angela too!", Leonardo pleaded to Amanda. "Okay, then do it as I tell you…do you understand sweety?"
"Okay!"
"Good boy! Now go to bed it's already eight!", Amanda hung up. Whereas, Leonardo put down the receiver and went to sleep.
...….
The next morning, Angela and Jennifer were waiting at the table. Few minutes later, a female maid arrived before them and delivered a message to Jennifer that Leonardo was not coming for breakfast and would like to eat his breakfast in his room. Jennifer knitted her brows upon his unexpected behavior. She looked at Angela and asked indifferently, "Did both of you fight last night?"
Angela was also seemed to be in dismay; she just shook her head in response. Jennifer read her expressions and ordered, "Fine! If he wants to eat breakfast in his room, then so be it. Just make sure he eats well!"
"Yes ma'am!"
"This boy is getting more and more mysterious day by day!", thought Jennifer. She glanced at Angela who was dazing before her breakfast. "Angela dear! What's wrong? Are you not hungry?"
Angela recovered from her daze and began eating. She finished her meal and went into the kitchen. In the evening, the girl was waiting in the garden for Leonardo to come but Leonardo didn't come and delivered a message through a maid that he was not feeling well. Angela couldn't do anything except for accepting his excuse. She went back to her room.
The next day same thing happened, he didn't appear for breakfast and didn't play with Angela either. And like that a whole week passed, Leonardo didn't appear before Angela in any way. During these days Angela tried her best to apologize to him for what she said but no answer came from his side except for silence. She even went to his room for apology but Leonardo never responded to her; he either went under the bed or the hide in the closet. His irrational behavior devastated her so much that she often cried while apologizing to him and asked Rebecca for help. Rebeca asked Jennifer to help the poor girl out but Jennifer was helpless as much as her. It pained Jennifer to see such a fragile little flower to suffer like that; she tried to ask the reason but Leonardo didn't say anything in return. Because of that all she could do was to cajole her somehow.
And like that another week passed. Angela stopped coming to breakfast table and in the evening, she ceased waiting for Leonardo. She kept herself busy and focused all her attention on cooking. Surprisingly, her progress in cooking was also affected. She often made mistakes. Even her instructor was worried after seeing her worn out every day. She even inquired Rebecca about Angela's current condition but the old lady was unable to come up with an answer.
...….
One day, Angela was working in the kitchen when Amanda showed up suddenly and stood behind her. All the workers in the kitchen stopped working when they saw her, except for Angela. Amanda was second in command after Jennifer, the current president of the Guryon Complex, who takes care of all household affairs efficiently. Nobody ever dared to look her in the eye except for few people like Jennifer, Leonardo and Rebecca. She was strong, intelligent, dominant and a gorgeous young woman.
Amanda examined Angela from behind; the poor girl seemed really worn out. Her complexion had become pale at such a young age. She was performing her duties with puffed eyes and sad expressions. Amanda had this feeling of guilt after witnessing such a beautiful girl in such condition.
A child of her age should be living a happy life but the latter kept working even though she was heartbroken for the past two weeks. Amanda's chest tightened after observing Angela for a moment.
On the other hand, Angela observed the pin drop silence in a place like kitchen. She traversed her gaze around the kitchen and noticed that everyone except for her were gazing at the floor with their heads lowered. Not knowing the reason for such a posture, Angela kept staring at the them in confusion until she heard her name from behind.
"Angela!"
Angela turned around and saw Amanda. She was surprised after seeing the current head of the family. She immediately ceased working, jumped down from the stool and lowered her head in respect like others. Amanda ordered, "Follow me!", and lead Angela out of the kitchen.
When they left, everybody heaved a sigh of relief and went back to their work. Some ladies in the corner began gossiping: "I thought I was going to die due her sudden arrival!"
"Hey! Why did lady Amanda come for her?"
"I don't know maybe she did something or maybe she could have stolen something from master Leonardo's room!"
Bang!
A female in her early thirties hit the table in anger. She glared at the ladies in the corner, "She is the grand-daughter of Miss Rebecca Evergarden; who is best friends with Lady Jennifer. If the word goes out who knows what might happen to you all?" She was the current instructor of Angela, Jean Bates. "We're sorry! We didn't mean that!", they confessed and concentrated on their work. "Hmph! useless people!", Jean muttered.
Meanwhile, Amanda led Angela to the garage where many cars were parked. All of them were those that she never saw before in her life. A black sedan car was on stand-by, Amanda opened the door for her. Angela was stunned with the current treatment by the latter, she gazed at the former with baffled expressions.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Get in already! We don't have the whole day for this!", said Amanda sternly. Angela nodded in puzzlement and pointed her finger at her dress. "It's fine! Just hop in!", ordered Amanda.
Angela entered the car. The sweet aroma of branded scent entered her nostrils. She was captivated by it for a moment and kept inhaling it. From the other side, Amanda entered and ordered the driver, "To the shopping mall!"
"Yes Ma'am!"
Angela leaned back on the seat and put the seat belt on. She didn't know why Amanda brought her out of the kitchen and taking her to the shopping mall all of a sudden. The young girl didn't have the slightest idea what was happening and neither have the courage to ask the lady of the house. And even if Angela asked her, she didn't know whether Amanda was familiar with sign language or not, so the girl just kept her head low and waited.
