Skylar giggled slightly as Bears fur tickled her skin. "I see Bear has taken a liking to you there" She jumped at the sudden voice, then looked up to see Kovu walking up to her.
"I-Ive always had that effect on dogs..." she mumbled softly as she continued to stroke Bears fur.
"Oh really~ why do you think that is...?"
Skylar shrugged her shoulders before looking down at Bear as he rested his head in her lap.
"Its always been like that ever since I was little, though I do remember seeing a strange statue in a forest once when I was 5 years old"
"A statue you say?"
She quickly nodded, then Bear began to growl at Kovus closeness.
"Leave her be Kovu, if you value your life that is..."
Karma had entered the living room and approached Skylar.
"Here are your pancakes, sorry for keeping you waiting"
She smiled happily as she began to eat "it's okay and these are so good"
"Glad you like them"
Bear had moved his head off of her lap to allow her to eat, wedging himself between her and Kovu even more.
"I was only curious about why Bear was so fond of her.."
Karma sighed in annoyance before flicking him squarely in the forehead.
"OW why'd you do that for!!!!"
He glared darkly at him as he spoke "I know what you are like, and you wonder why Bear doesn't trust you"
"That doesn't give you the right to flick me in the forehead..."
Skylar watched the exchange between them as she continued to eat.
"I flicked you cause I know you were up to no good,again."
When Skylar finally finished her pancakes, Kovu asked
"So what did this statue look like?"
She hesitated slightly and spoke softly,
"umm it was tall, shaggy but well groomed hair, it had an eye patch over his left eye and he had a cane. Oh and he was wearing a smart magician styled suit with the top hat to match."
Karma frowned at the description, his smile fell from his face.
"By any chance did this statue have an outstretched hand like he was waiting for someone to shake his hand?" he asked in a serious tone.
She nodded slightly "Yeah it did actually....."
Karmas eyes widened and he continued "uhh which forest was that statue in?"
"I think it was the forest next to my uncles place in demon valley, I used to spend my summers up there when I was younger, my parents weren't very nice people so it was always fun visiting him."
As they spoke, Bear moved his head back onto Skylars lap asking for attention.
"Did you ever make a wish on this statue??" asked Kovu
She shrugged slightly "I only wished for one thing...I wished for something or someone to always be there for me.... then my uncle found me and told me to never go in the forest again and to stay away from the statue."
Karma and Kovu looked at each other their expressions mirrored each other.
"Say what was your uncles name??"
"His name was Robin Nightwood...why'd you ask"
"No reason just curious is all...."
After awhile, the other members of the gang appeared and Karma replaced the bandages on Skylars leg again. Bear continued to pine for attention from her, making her smile happily as she scratched him behind the ears.
"Wow he's like a puppy dog around her." Kai mused softly the Karma.
He nodded in agreement as he watched the bond between them grow.
"As long as shes happy and feels safe I don't mind Bear being a puppy around her..."
