Chapter 20 - An Attack From An Old Enemy.

Friday at 3:15 PM... We were dismissed early than usual so I and the Assistant went to the lab from there we continue our research but for that day we research and improve my mixture for the medicine that my little sister is needing right now for her applications for her patients. A way to give medicine to children that are afraid of medicine, since she's known for her child-like appearance

and she can communicate with her age group to know what they usually don't like in medicine, is it the taste? The color? Or the name? I don't know what my little sister is usually doing in her research but yeah she ask some help with her development and I agreed. "Ma'am I am shocked that your little sister can work at this level and yet she's still at an unreasonable age of working," I replied from the reaction I received from my Assistant. "Not really... Deep down in her mind, she's still a young kid. An impressive feat if I'm honest, though right now I live alone at my house since Mom was called to visit her in Japan in one of our research headquarters." We talked a bit while developing the medicine when we received a radio call from a medical outpost... "Sierra-Greyhound do you read me? This is outpost Hotel-Bravo-3-4-Charlie. We received a specialize emergency

call since a situation near Bristol has been found a patient is currently very sick and need special treatment since you're the only Kirkstoic in the area we called you immediately. We've sent you the coordinates to your cellphones the situation has been up for 10 minutes now good luck. *static*" I quickly prepared my examination tools and all of the medicine that can be used to stabilize the patient. Then my Assistant said something. "Hey, Ma'am we should take my bike it would be faster than a car," I replied with a quick response. "Sure anything that would help us arrive there fast." As we ran to the parking lot and seeing my Assistant had a sport-bike as his daily vehicle in his commute. "Ma'am, have you ridden this kind of motorcycle before?" I nodded and replied. "How did you manage to get a hold of a huge sports-bike on such a young age Assistant?" Tom replied. "Not is the time for explanation Ma'am let's go!" He starts his bike and within 5 minutes we're already moving fast. "Let's take the motorway it seems no one is there from what can see. And also don't hold back we are already identified as an emergency vehicle so go full out." I said to my Assistant. "Then hold on Ma'am we're gonna do above 200 Km/h in this motorway."

A high pitch whine can be heard from his motorcycle as all four cylinders gave out a howl that echoes throughout the motorway. From a blink of an eye, 100-230 Km/h is just a blur. As we move as fast as we could possibly can, "Hey, Tom are you sure about the speed we're going?" I said to my Assistant through our comms system. He replied. "It depends Ma'am, I can still go further if you want." He twists his wrists further bringing more speed into his bike. From what I saw in his speedometer he was just touching 273 Km/h while I was riding at the back. After 10 minutes he spoke to me after being too focused on his riding. "Ma'am we're nearing our exit and I am expecting our arrival there is within 5 minutes if traffic isn't bad. Hold on Ma'am corner I'm about to lean towards it." We've slowed down now since we exited the motorway and now maneuvering through town and finding the house through our navigation with the coordinates given to us and we did arrive within 5 minutes just in time. I hopped off the bike and headed inside quickly and I ask the people inside. "Are you all people all relatives of the patients?" They nodded. "Okay, who's the person who knows more of the patient's sickness." A young man stood up and said: "I do doctor." I replied. "Then bring me to the patient." I follow the young man to the patient's room. "Here Doc, she has been having this high fever and she's paler than usual," I replied to the concerned young man. "It's okay we'll handle it." My Assistant entered the room and said. "Ma'am anything I can help," I replied to him. "Sure Assistant, put the emergency response on hold until I give out the results if the patient is positive or negative in the exam. If it's positive then you can give them your signal to immediately bring them here." My Assistant nodded and calls the emergency response. "Okay, now I'll begin the 3S exam. Saliva, Sugar, and Sodium." The 3S test is used to identify the special disease that we or a Kirkstoic trained doctor can do this test accurately. I begin with her Saliva, I used a special tool for this test, after that I tested her Sugar with her blood sample, then finally her Sodium, using her sweat since she is sweating hard.

The tests took 10 minutes to finish and it gave out its results... "Oh no... Assistant, now!" My Assistant already called the response group and I talked to him. "It seems that we got a patient that has a sickness from an old enemy..." He replied. "Don't tell me, is it the time plague?" I replied quickly. "No, it's origins are from the Time Plague but it's exactly that more like a much weaker variation of it since this kind of sickness is quite rare now." A few moments in the emergency response picked up the

patient and was brought to a special hospital made for those kinds of diseases. I can't say that it has returned but I think we're far from that horrible incident from coming back... I better tell Dad about this, and begin our countermeasures. I'm not panicking yet I'm just concerned about this kind of disease is being seen again after all its been hundreds of years now since the last appearance of that plague. I still haven't figured out how could these kinds of symptoms came back from the past. This kind of high fever and paleness yet her blood is normal... It's a Type 3 Time-Evo symptom, Time-Evo is what we are calling the newer form of the Time Plague which they originated back then they call this sickness as then as 'Dead Man Timer' and you know why because the symptoms that date back to the original symptoms that lasted within five days... And the symptom I saw is from the bridge before the patient back then was entering his/her's fourth day of being infected. Within that period Great Great Grandfather said that when the patient has been infected for four days now he considered them as dead because on the fifth day... Pain and Suffering occur for 3 minutes before killing the patient from the inside. For now I need to go back and discuss this with everyone. "Assistant we're going home. Let the family know that their loved one is being quarantined in the special center in the nearby town." My Assistant nods and we headed back to the lab.
