"Ever since that day I throw up once every three months." I say. A portal appears right before me and a hand pops out.
"Hi. Sorry to disturb you but here's your medicine." A boy's voice says.
"Thank you, Aiden." I smile and grab the bottle of black liquid from him.
"Aunt Kiara said that you have to drink each and every drop and you're welcome." The portal disappears along with his hand.
"Eh? Who was that?" Ren asks finding it hard to believe that a hand appeared out of thin air.
"Aiden Halo, Aria's younger brother." I reply. I scrunch my nose up when opening the bottle of black liquid. I take in a deep breath before taking a mouthful. I gag at the taste. "Urgh!" I say in disgust holding the bottle away from my face.
"Is it really that bad?" Ren asks looking at the liquid.
"Yes. It tastes worse than tar."
"How do you know what tar tastes like?"
"I've been in many fights in many places which some I deeply regret." I shake my head when remembering the time I once fought someone in a sewer. Ew!
Ren opens his mouth to say something but closes it looking hesitant.
"What?" I ask him.
"The other day you said that I didn't have proper training I was wondering when did you have proper training?"
I stifle a laugh at how he was hesitant. "As soon as I was born I started training. First it was how to control my powers and hide them. Second was using my powers and controlling the amount used. Third was physical training. Fourth was sparring with a partner and after the partner we were put into an arena to fight four opponents. Fifth it was missions and sixth was Royal training which only I did." I explain.
"Where do you think I'll get to?"
"Probably wouldn't get passed controlling powers since you have none and everyone else who trained had. But there is artificial powers which you can only get the most common powers which would include, shape shifting, elements, speed and strength. Even if you get artificial powers you wouldn't pass physical training." I nod feeling I'm right.
"What do you do in physical training?" Ren asks feeling a bit scared of the physical training.
"It depends on what instructor you get. We, the Myth's got to scale the old Renata castle and for our first official field training we did a take back mission in the alpines." I say recalling the time when we were seven.
"If I was going to field and physical training which one would I get?"
I look over at him and my eyebrows furrow. Why is he asking all this? Does he want to do training? I know I wouldn't if given a choice. "It depends on what's available and your rank."
Ren nods knowing he wouldn't get a high rank.
I sigh when seeing him depressed. "Not everyone gets training. The ones that don't get physical training and is taught the basics of fighting if ever attacked. Kiyoshi for instance. He didn't get the proper training when young because he didn't have any powers but he's the chief of the animal kingdom hunting group. Old Kitamura is the Royal Librarian."
"Royal Librarian?" Ren asks confused that's a job. "I thought seers and griffins looked after it?"
"They do in the to the most precious books like Renata history books but there's a huge library that takes up the left tower in Renata which Old Kitamura looks after with some precious books which he defends."
Ren nods. "What other jobs are there in the castle?"
"There's a key keeper, portal instructor, teacher, cleaner-" I start.
"Cleaner?" Ren exclaims.
"A cleaner in Renata Castle is a real privilege they get to learn of all the hidden rooms and secrets that are hidden. Actually we are still finding hidden rooms or passages every year because the ancestor who built the castle died before she had the chance to tell her children where all the hidden rooms and passages are."
"Really?" I nod. "So that means that Renata Castle is a secret?"
"Yes."
"Cool." He says before smiling and going to his room.
"What's with him?" I ask Asra but Lion's the one to answer.
"He wants to discover all the hidden rooms to find the 'treasure'." She says.
"Why? There's no treasure for him unless he likes ancient books and heirlooms." I widen my eyes realizing. "The heirlooms would be the treasure." I nod and smirk at his stupidity.
He don't get any heirlooms. My brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles and I get them. If any person not blood related gets an heirloom it would be the Royal guards that protect the royal family or the pixies. Old Kitamura would at least get one but he still has a few hundred years left before he dies but that'll go to Kiyoshi and by the way I see it he's going to give it to Minato the second son.
I roll my eyes and am about to stand up to get a snack when my phone rings.
"Hello." I say picking it up.
"Adira Chikara Astrid Yukimura!" Nicholas' voice says. By the way it sounds he's mad about something.
I can't help but play with him. "Nicholas Adolph Lobo."
"Are you vomiting blood?" He asks.
I freeze. How in the world did he know. "Ren!" I growl. "That snitch."
"He didn't tell me." Nicholas says.
"Then how do you know?" I ask.
"The bond. Did you forget that when you're hurt we'll feel it through the siblings bond?" Nicholas explains.
Sh*t. Forgot about that. "Do the others know?"
"No. They would have felt it but considering it's you it's normal. I only know the difference because I specialize in the human body." Nicholas answers.
"Okay." I sigh in relieve. If the others knew they would freak out.
"Did anything happen in the time since you had it last?" Nicholas questions.
"...Yeah. Ren happened. I'm just being really worried that he might die and I'll be locked in Renata Castle again. But other than that nothing much except the usual fighting and killing schedule." I respond after thinking.
"You don't have to be so uptight like you usually are during missions. He has Ocean." Nicholas reminds.
"I know but Ocean can only do so much. This mission is like no other protecting mission I've ever done." I sigh, pulling my knees up to my chest.
"That's true but still. Don't be a worry-wart." Nicholas laughs.
I scoff. "What about you? First mission you ever went on you pissed your pants."
"That was a one time thing. I'm used to healing people not killing them. And I was only 5." Nicholas hurriedly defends himself.
"Sure, sure. What about when Aunt Cora shifted into a Pegasus? You cried because her wings almost hit you."
"She was huge! One flap and I would've been thrown 50 feet."
I roll my eyes. "I was there and did I cry? No. You can obviously tell who's better." I flip my hair.
Nicholas laughs. "Yes. You're obviously better." He says but there's an emotion that I've never heard before. Regret.
"Is something wrong?" I ask him. I sit up straight worried about him.
"You have surpassed all of us, Adira. The others feel the same." Nicholas says slowly.
"So?" I ask not getting where he's going with this.
"We failed our brother duty to protect you. It's you protecting us." Nicholas says.
"You protected me from our half-siblings many times. You were the only ones that brought food for me and Oreo after Ellora died. You would beg Henry to let us go even if that meant getting a beating." I inhale deeply. "When everyone else considered us dead or slaves you were the ones that never gave up and still treated us the same. To me and I know Oreo feels the same, you are the best brothers that we could ask for." I smile when finished.
"Even when we fight?" Nicholas asks remembering the beating on Sage's birthday.
"Especially when we fight. It brings us closer together afterwards." I chuckle.
"Aye! You're such a sweet talker." Nicholas laughs.
"I got it from Zane." I flip my fringe. "How is he by the way? Still wearing Ellora's dresses?"
"You know it. But now he's starting to model." Nicholas sighs. "He's starting to look a bit more like mother than Henry."
I smile widely. "I support him. He should follow his dreams and it's best if he looks like Ellora more. You all should at least look more like a Yukimura than a Lobo."
"You're right." Nicholas nods.
"Doctor Adolph." Someone says on Nicholas' side.
"I have to go. Love you." Nicholas says.
"Love you too, bro." I smile and hang up.
"Who was that?" Ren asks walking down the stairs.
"Nicholas." I answer. "Doctor Adolph from school." I say when Ren's confused. He's not the best at faces or names.
"Okay." Ren nods and walks into the kitchen.
