Chapter 5 - Chapter 3: Bay

"Approximately 11:29 A.M. RST, experiment number 13X's brain waves reactivated causing manual function in other body parts. Approximately 11:45 A.M. RST, experiment number 13X shows signs of regaining conscious." a voice said. My face felt stiff and my body felt numb.

Darkness. That's all I could see. But that's completely different compared to what I remember. Blood. Everywhere. Piles of bodies. Screams. Cries. DEATH. The sounds of guns firing like firecrackers. And the blue ribbon that belonged to the little girl in a blue dress with white frills. And the outstretched hands that never managed to reunite.

"Strange, monitors show signs of consciousness, but experiment number 13X has shown no signs of waking." A question asked without actually asking a question.

"Give 'm time, put a camera on 'm and then take a break. Two years and no success on any prototypes of experiment 13 working, at least this time we got the body to function. Maybe 13Y will actually wake up."

"I guess, but we're so close it's kinda depressing. I'll just finish the logs then go hit lunch."

"Whatever floats your boat pal, well I'm going to take a smoke, if you need help don't call me."

"Thanks, you wouldn't exactly be much help anyway!" With that their conversation seemed to be over because no voices colid into the air. But something was bugging me. It didn't feel as if I was lying in a bed or something, in fact I don't think I was touching any solid surface. With this I began to panic and the pace of my heart began to accelerate. And because I didn't have full command over my body I panicked even more, attempting to thrash around trying to feel a sense of something, anything, it didn't even have to be familiar. I just needed a solid surface or a sensation of some sort. With my panic my mind went into overdrive and I forced myself awake, gasping for breath and opening my eyes, with how crazy I was getting I couldn't even focus on what my eyes were seeing, if you looked at my eyes you could see that they were darting around as if I was going haywire on a sugar rush. It seems like my gasp wasn't all that silent because the person that was left behind seemed to gasp just as shocked as me. When I started to realize my surroundings I was in glass prison, a gas mask attached to my face and tubs sticking into my arms. I think I even had a collar around my neck, but I wasn't exactly sure. When I started to calm down I noticed I was in some type of liquid and I was just floating inside the glass capsule. Bubbles huffed out with each breath I took, completely causing me to forget the other person nearby.

"HOLY FISH STICKS!!!! WE DID IT!!!!!" A boastful cheer of joy echod causing me to look away from the bubbles and at the man. They were cheering and an odd way jumping around and screaming "YES!!!" YAHOO!!!" and other stuff like that. The man had on glasses and his hair was a mop of untidiness. My initial panic had flew out the window and I was much more calm than before. I observed the lunatic with a foreign coldness. I didn't know why but it was as if something in me has shut down. I wouldn't say that I lost my humanity more like I wasn't sure what I was anymore. It wasn't really a lost rather an expansion that caused me to forget. What is it like to feel? I felt like I didn't have much emotion anymore. What happened?

Before I knew it, other people came rushing towards the room, I wasn't sure why I could sense this, but right after I sensed the people coming they soon entered the room. "I'll be damned." the voice sound familiar but I wasn't exactly sure why. I then thought back to the conversation I had heard before going bonkers. Ah. it was the smoker that had the conversation to fish sticks over there.

"12:02 P.M. RST experiment number 13X is conscious." the smoker said. "Get the trigger prepared before we drain the restoration bay."

"Already on it." said Fish stick. It was a sudden jolt for me when the liquid started leaving the prison and as the fluid drained out. I slowly found myself with bambi legs and crashed to the bottom of the capsule because I didn't have enough strength in my legs to stand up. The crash caused a wave of pain to hit me, my throat seems dry and unused so only grunting sounds were made. When I opened my shut eyes I felt as if they were being burned. Why was it so bright. In the capsule I cried out in agony from the immense sensation of having my eyes be deep fried. Due to the pain I thrashed my half unresponsive body around in a violent rage. The gas mask still plastered to my face and the tubs inserted in my body seemed to coil around me as if I had just gotten tangled up. I wasn't sure what was going into my body but I knew it was making me loopy.

By the time I woke up again, I was lying down on a soft bed held back by the cool metal cuffs that held my wrists and ankles in place. I wasn't sure of where I was, and I didn't know what was going on, where was momma? I turned my head to look around, but the only thing I managed to find out about where I was is that it looked like a room you would find at the hospital, not the room you go to when you have a check up, but rather the ones with a bed, tv, and bathroom. Realizing that I was all alone made me start to panic. Who were the weird people from earlier something X, something Y, and … I don't really remember… whatever they had said was a bit hard to understand.

After a few minutes of internally panicking, muffled sounds of shuffling and people speaking, the door opened. A tall man in a lab coat with dark hair and black glasses frames along with a head shorter women in black clothes and tall leather boots entered the room.

"Look you moron! Experiment 13Y is already awake!" The woman yelled, she wasn't anything like mama, she had blond hair and a mean looking face. I didn't really like her.

"It doesn't matter, 13Y was said to be rather dull before he came here. They said something about emotional state plateauing at emptiness." The man explained to the load and boarish women.

"I don't care, I just need the thing branded so I can drag him to train." grunted the woman as she crossed her arms.

"Well, it will take a bit, 13Y will need at least to remain here for another two to three months. We need to make sure nothing happens while he gets us to his skill." The man said as if he were talking down to women. The women grunted once more and swiftly turned towards the door and left the room.
