Chapter 9 - Chapter 7: Not Alone

Ten felt her head spin, reaching out towards the wall to hold herself from collapsing. The voice that she could hear was causing her energy to drain as if she was connected and able to communicate with them. This has never happened before, Ten was rather confused, so was the child she was examining but for a completely different reason.

Thirteen had his head hanging down as his breaths came out in labored pants as if he had ran a marathon.

"Hello?" a soft voice called out to him. Thirteen was too tired to cause a reaction not replying to the call from nowhere. He actually felt that he was hallucinating due to a lack of blood.

"Hellllooooo~" the voice called out again. "I know you can hear me!" the voice seemed to pout. "It's rude to ignore people who are talking to you."

"no people." Thirteen replied.

"Psh~ of course you don't see me! I'm telepathically speaking to you." The voice proudly stated.

"Voice in my head?" Thirteen asked in all honest.

"I am a person!"

"Expressing physicality and awareness?"

"Oh My Gosh! I am not just a voice! I'm Ten! Currently stationed at base 4AA!!!!" The voice cried out feeling wronged.

"Prove it." Thirteen stated. Ten really wanted to strangle this person! She had finally managed to reach out to them and they were an antagonistic robotic meany! They actually thought she was a figment of their imagination and called her a voice in their head! Not only that the longest sentence they even managed to spit out where less than 5 words!!!

Thirteen was rather distraught right now, he wasn't exactly sure if he should trust this voice, it could be a ploy to give him hope and use it to break him down once more. He wouldn't allow himself to be such an easy target. Thirteen came out of his little head space when the straps binding his arms and legs to the chair came undone. He was lifted up and carried away to be strapped to a bed to be shipped to his goal. There in Guardian was an opportunity, it was his second chance to live once more. This trip will either cause further destruction to his soul or be his last chance at salvation.

Ten really wanted to rip her hair out, who knew a child could be so hard to deal with, she could just imagine the type of facial expression the boy had, she bet it looked like a block of wood. Or maybe stone, either would work as ways to describe her image of what the boy would look like.

Ten didn't realize how true her thoughts were then, cause the comparison between thirteen and a block of wood… there was no difference between the two, so what was there to compare?

There was an odd silence between the two, Ten didn't really know how to prove that she was actually Ten. "How do you want me to prove it? I don't even know where you are or who you are so how can I prove it? I can't exactly send an image of what I look like, not that I would want to." Ten grumbled.

"Then come find me." Thirteen whispered softly before falling asleep. Thirteen didn't say anything more to Ten, causing a small wave of panic to explode into her head. But when Ten finally realized what was happening in front of her she paused. The child she was just examining was forcefully pressed down and she was pushed back into a wall and blockaded by a group of staff.

"What are you doing!!!" She cried in a fluster.

"Experiment EEE will be detained and put down due to an investigation of their physiological state from earlier this morning." one of the staff robotically responded to her dramatic scream. The child struggled as it was captured and treated like a rogue animal, kicking its legs and screaming for help while crying. Ten struggled to reach the child but was being held back by a number of staff, she was very sufficient in the art of combat, but her being against an estimate of seven different people was out of her league. She wasn't specialized in fighting, rather she was in the informational field, after all her skill was telepathy. This didn't stop Ten from trying to reach out to the child that was going to be executed, she was meant to save lives not take them. Although Ten's thrashing caused a devastating aftermath to the staff, she was unable to reach the child before he was shot down. Ten's entire body trembled as she was actually thinking of killing the man who just shot the young child. All of her muscles were tense and you could see the veins popping out showing the depth of her suppression of her anger. Due to her rage she didn't realize that she was hit by a tranquilizer and soon felt fuzzy and unable to focus.

Thirteen who was currently no where near where Ten was felt as if his mind was fuzzing too, the connection he had with ten was very dangerous, he realized so when he felt the haziness that he could tell was coming to him because of Ten. He bit his lip hard to wake up, he didn't want to lose the chance to memorize the route to Guardian.
