Chereads / The Rapper’s Angel / Chapter 3 - School

Chapter 3 - School

It was early in the morning. Gus woke up to the sound of the alarm going off in his phone.

He slowly shuts off the alarm and heads to washroom to wash up. He then puts on his black ripped jeans and a plain white hoodie he took from ali's wardrobe. Even though it wasn't that cold to wear a hoodie outside, he had no choice as he didn't want to show others in school his tattoos and stand out. He just wanted to get through his final year of high school as he promised Ali he would graduate high school and then fully focus on his rap career. He then headed over to the kitchen to start preparing his promised breakfast. He start to cook pancakes, eggs and bacon. Right when he was about to finish, he hears Ali come out of her room half asleep.

"Smells good...." she mumbled half asleep.

"It's almost done..... sit down let's eat." He said smiling at her who's acting like a small kid even though she is older.

They then had a hearty breakfast filled with a comforting silence.

"I'm heading to school... see ya" he said while picking up the plates and leaving them in the sink.

"Bye Gus, try to have some fun in school" she screamed as Gus was heading out the door.

"Yeah like that'll ever happen" he mumbled while getting on his bicycle and then headed straight to school.

................

It was a 5 min cycle ride from Ali's home to school. He was so used to this trail that he could do it with his eyes closed. After all, he stayed at Ali's place maybe 4-5 days a week rather than his own dads house. He however hoped that after his song release today he'd make enough money to move out to his own apartment. He know Ali didn't mind him staying over all the time but he felt it wasn't right and wanted to move out to his own place. But he felt that he would miss Ali too much if he moved. What a dilemma.

He reached school, parked his bicycle at the parking and headed straight to class. He kept his earphones in to avoid talking to anyone. He went and took his usual seat right next to the window.

He wasn't a bad student by any means, he was mediocre. He just wanted to graduate, he couldn't care less about his grades. He just wanted it to pass by quickly so he could go back to doing what he loved.

Soon the class stared filling up and everyone were in their own groups striking a conversation. No one even noticed Gus sitting at the back near the window. Maybe a few girls did, after all he was a handsome young man. However, no one wanted to talk to the school loner. So they just ignored his presence.

He looked at his watch to see how much time before class started and as he glanced back up he saw her walk in like an angel walking through the gates of hell.
