Chapter 2 - Settle Scores

Tiara Jewels

Inside the office

"You are impressive", Ruby beamed as she held Sara's hands. Both were slender and tall but Sara was taller. The pink skirt suit Sara wore complimented her caramel skin while Ruby wore a dark blue pantsuit that complimented her fair skin.

Sara smiled, "Is it?"

"Well, Mr. Xi is on the phone", Ruby nodded, "He sounded quite happy."

"Okay", Sara nodded, "I won't make him wait."

She neatly picked up the handphone and began speaking in fluent Chinese, "Hello, Mr. Xi."

"Little Sara, how are you?" Mr. Xi spoke happily, "Your designs are rare and exquisite. We are happy with the collaboration."

"I am glad that you said it", Sara smiled.

On the side, Ruby raised her eyebrows before glancing at the closed door. Anyone who would see her all-natural smile just now would be freaked out for the rest of the day!

Soon Sara hung up with a smile, "It's done."

"Wow", Ruby was overwhelmed, "The Xi groups are going to release their fourth 'X' type perfume, and that too after almost two decades and our exquisite piece is going to be featured in it! The new is surely going to explode tomorrow!"

Sara smiled faintly, "Okay, let's go. It would be even better if we finalize the deal with C nation's top entrepreneur too."

"Yeah", Ruby nodded and led her out. After they left, another bout of deep sighs filled the air. The air stank with admiration and disappointment.

...

The door to the conference room opened and both Sara and Ruby entered. Everyone was smiling and appeared quite happy. Sara and Ruby exchanged glances and nodded. Sara went to her seat and sat down while Ruby casually stood beside her. Both appeared as logs of ice beside each other. This time, Mr. Steve spoke, "Miss James, your proposal is extremely eye-catching and profitable. We are happy to invest and collaborate."

"I am glad you said that", Sara spoke calmly in response, her face devoid of any emotions.

But her words instead felt like, I am glad you agreed or God knows what could I have done instead.

Mr. Steve gestured to Henderson and he spoke, "If nothing else, we shall leave. We hope to see you in the capital city soon."

"Sure", Sara stood up as well as the others. They all shook hands and exited. Ruby was beyond happy, "Finally!"

Sara suddenly became quite and sighed a while later. Ruby understood her quietness and spoke up, "Well, about the annual funeral ceremony, the arrangement has been made. The head priest would be there. Don't worry."

The seventh death anniversary of her parents was next week. Seven years have passed since that tragic night. That night...

A ringtone suddenly interrupted her thoughts. She glanced at her phone and saw an incoming message. She frowned as she saw the message, "Baby, will you meet me tonight?"

When she was about to type something, Ruby snatched it away from her hands, "I told you numerous times. Cut the crap and block this piece of shit of f*cking pervert! From your life!"

Sara closed her eyes and let her best friend vent all the anger, cursing. Finally, she had no choice but to cut her out, "Okay, Mom. I will block him after I settle scores with him tonight."

"Huh? Are you seriously planning to handover the villa to him? The one your parents gifted you?"

"Assholes would do that", Sara rolled her eyes.

"Then?" Ruby smirked and quirked her brows as she leaned closer, "What will you do? Drug them like they always do?"

"I will let them have a taste of my medicine."

"Oh!" Ruby gave a wry look before she chuckled, "Are you willing to take the risk?"

"Yes. Over the years, this money and powers I acquired cannot go into waste. I will execute everything. By tomorrow, their pride will crumble."

"Their pride? Those three-legged toads have pride, you say?" Ruby chuckled sinisterly. No one understood Sara better than her. If she failed to know what was going on in her mind, did she deserve to be her best friend?
