Chapter 20 - Vol. 2 - Chapter 5: The Successor´s Mission

A week before in Tapatio:

"A-A-A teacher! You mean I´m going to teach? That is my secret mission?" Uriel says to Juan de la Trinidad as he stands up.

"Not exactly muchacho, you see you are going to be a substitute teacher of the Sun City Abroad High School Division." Juan says to Uriel as he sits down in the couch, drinks his coffee and continues to explain:

"I am a friend with the Principal, the History teacher needed to leave and they needed a replacement so I pull some strings and you´re in muchacho."

"Okay so he will be the teacher then what is his mission?" Maria asks Juan as she sits next to Uriel.

"His mission will be to investigate these peop.le" Juan says to them as he shows them 5 pictures in the table. Uriel and Maria were shocked to learn who those people were.

"The people you are going to investigate are Darius Lucifugus, Olivia Lucifugus better known as Ms. Jameson, Aleister Lucifugus , Nathaniel Gonzalez, and his son Alberto Gonzalez you know them right?" Juan says to them as he points at the picture with a big smile.

"Yes we do, that bastard is still alive?" Maria says with a furious tone as she points at Darius picture.

"Yes, Darius survived and he is now the mayor of Sun City. Not only that, Olivia is the principal of the High school as well." Juan says to them and he continues with his explanation:

"Darius belongs to a secret organization that I still don´t know about. However I won´t go into details with that. First you need to concentrate on his son Aleister who is a student in that school. Alberto Gonzalez is a Dean in the College division but getting to him would be more difficult. If you can learn about those two you might learn about their parents who are in control of the borderland."

Uriel closes his eyes to think for a minute. He opens them and says to Juan:

"Okay I will do it, but first how do you know so much, Tio"

"Well let´s say we are partners but it's only for my benefit, so don´t worry." Juan says to Uriel, but Uriel is suspicios of Juan along with Maria and Sister Griselda. Nevertheless, they play along with him because Uriel knew that he needed the money.

"I´ve trained you for 8 years muchacho, thanks to those powers your intelligence rose to the roof. That is why you finish your college degree at the age of 18. You graduated from the International College of Guadalajara. Now you need to pay me back for everything I've done for you and that is how you will do it." Juan points at Uriel. Uriel replies:

"I know and for that I am grateful so I will do it, not for you, but for my family and my late father who always believed that I would be a great teacher."

Juan laughs and says: "Just like your father"

He turns to see Maria and Sister Griselda and says: "Roberto lives on, be happy hahaha"

Maria and Sister Griselda begin to smile at Uriel. Uriel is clueless and he did not understand the situation. Juan stands up and takes out a pair of blue reading glasses out of his pocket and puts it in the table.

"What are those?" Maria asks with a suspicious face.

"Well it will take a long time to explain so let me just demonstrate." Juan says to Maria as he grabs a cross out of the wall and points it at Uriel.

"Ahhhh" Uriel screams of pain because his power does not let him stand anything holy.

"Stop that!!" Maria screams with fury.

"Calm down, niña" Sister Griselda says to Maria as she grabs her hand.

"Uriel, put those glasses on quickly" Juan says to Uriel as he hides the cross.

Uriel quickly puts the glasses on and Juan points the cross once again at Uriel but this time he isn´t affected by the cross.

Everyone in the living room was surprised as Juan laughs and says:

"See, nothing happened those are great glasses given to me from my friend "Isabella." These were enchanted to prevent people like us to be affected by the holy artifacts of the church. You will get use to the holy, and later on you will not need them. These glasses are special and there is another trick to them."

Maria and Sister Griselda begin to look at Uriel with a suspicious expression causing Uriel to ask: "Is something wrong?"

"Nothing is wrong it´s just that when you wear these glasses people who know you will have doubts about knowing you. This means that Maria and the old hag know you but have doubts when they see you thinking that you are a different person." Juan explains to Uriel as he laughs.

"In other words those who know me will think I am a different person, am I right?" Uriel says to Juan as he takes off his glasses causing Maria and Sister Griselda to look at him normal.

"Well you are a fast learner muchacho, but don't wear them too much on the place where you will live okay." Juan says to Uriel as he finishes his coffee and continue to talk:

"Unfortunately I won't be able to go with you immediately Uriel, in fact I will go visit a few days before the Red Moon appears in the 1st of September so that means you have 6 months to try to find out about Darius objective, muchacho."

"I understand, I will do my best Tio but why are you not going there yourself?" Uriel asks Juan as he puts his glasses in the pocket.

"Well that is because I have other things to do in the city of "Zapopan" and that is all I have to say muchacho." Juan replies as he takes his hat and goes to the door preparing to leave.

"Well señoritas good night, I´ll see you in a couple of months." Juan begins to step out of the table but before he leaves he turns around and tells Uriel:

"Remember Muchacho that if you fail me, I have a replacement so do your best hahaha" Juan leaves the place, and he leaves Uriel thinking about the silhouette of a girl with mariachi attire."

"That guy gives me the chills, mi niña please be careful" Sister Griselda says to Maria and she turns around to Uriel and says:

"Mijo do your best but be careful and try not to die. The Borderland is full of evil so please keep your eyes open, I will go visit you at the end of July."

"I will abuelita, do not worry." Uriel replies to Sister Griselda as he grabs his glasses thinking:

"I should be careful with these and only wear them in school."

(Riiiiiinnnnnnngggg)

The bell rings meaning the end of the school day and Uriel begins to prepare himself to leave his classroom to meet up with Valerie who was waiting for him at the front.
