One drop. One drop is enough, I told myself.
I woke up in daze. All I could see is the white walls and white ceiling accompanied by the smell of disinfectant that I'm quite familiar with.
"Your vital signs are stable. We can go home after breakfast" Dad said while shoving my breakfast tray.
"Thanks Dad, I'll be fast. And oh! Are you perhaphs going to the university today?"
"Uhuh, need to drop some documents to the department. Why do you ask?"
"Maybe, I can drop you off then? I need a ride to work hehe." I responded with mouth half full.
"You need to rest for the day. Work can wait"
I pouted. I know he's weak when I'm cute. "But, we're meeting an important sponsor today. Please, just this once. Let me borrow your car. You know, Becky is still at the service station"
"Okay young lady, you win. But be home early"
"Done!" I exclaimed as I swallowed the last portion of my breakfast.
I quickly change out of the gown into my casual clothes. Soon after, dad arrived with discharge papers.
While patiently waiting for the elevator, I fidget my phone to check the time. The elevator dings signaling the arrival of the elevator car. Nurses and Doctors in white coat are getting off. As I am putting away my phone, one has accidentally brushed it off my grasp. 'Tsk' I immediately looked for it when the swarm has faded but unfortunately, It might have slided off to somewhere.
"Let's go" Dad reminded as he was gesturing for me to get on the elevator. I complied.
"You look like a lost kitten haha"
"My phone got missing. It was just in my hand a moment ago" I complained.
The elevator arrived at the basement.
"Let Mum buy you a new one."
