She was surprised but she wouldn't say she doesn't like it. The warmth of Mark's lips is penetrating into her brain as she opened her lips to his expert tongue, and her whole body said YES to the onslaught. He wasn't just kissing her, he was Kissing Kissing her! With his fingers guiding her head, he slowly tilted her head to deepen the kiss.
And damn, the man could kiss. She could feel her cheeks flush as his tongue navigated her mouth. Her eyes which were wide open because of her shock are now slowly fully closed in bliss, and she responded. She wrapped her arms around his neck and fervently met his lips. Slanting her head, she met his tongue and joined in the sensual dance that their bodies long know the rhythm.
The kiss went on longer. She could feel Mark's hands crawling up and down her spine, kindling the sexual fire inside her that she thought was long gone. She may be a virgin after all the years of her relationship with Richard, but she damn knows how it goes. She has been long been liberated from all the books she has been reading. She may not be a great kisser, but she knows dang well that she is not putting herself to shame at the moment.
She bit his lower lip, just enough to hurt, then licked the same spot as she massaged the spot where his neck meets his shoulders. That earned her a groan as he grabbed her bottom and dragged her closer to him. She can't help but smile inwardly because she could feel how much he liked it judging from the bulge she just felt. He liked it. It's her time to groan now. She liked it.
She wants more but he already broke the kiss. Seems like her groan has broken the spell.
There goes his stare again. But this time, his irises are blown. His breathing labored. His lips wet from her kisses. What a good looking aroused guy. Whoo!
"That's what you get when you become my girlfriend." He said through his teeth. She can see him struggling, his fingers curling on her arms are starting to hurt from him stopping himself. She can see his internal struggle. She is just waiting for him to move first. Her mind is still in mush after what happened. She does not know how she looks right now. He may have messed up the already messy bun she had. Her cheeks may be as red as she feels them be, and her lips are still aching from that kiss. He may have heard what she said in her mind since he now looked at my lips and then licked his own.
Sexy. Her mind is now playing things she wants to do to this guy. And oh how it plays. She would first--
"Goodnight, Mara." He just turned around and left her alone.
She just couldn't understand this guy.

Present Day
Fuck. That's all she could say about the current situation. Of all times and days to be stuck in the elevator with a guy you don't want to meet, it has to be this day. The day where he has been on her mind. A second fuck for that. He was actually standing right beside her, and the woman on his other side.
She didn't make it show that she recognized him. She looked at him with questioning eyes and then turned her eyes back to her phone. She didn't let anything show on her face as she told Richard on the other end that she is ending the phone call. She could hear his protests before she pressed the end button. She could see that her fingers are shaking as she tried to scroll through her playlist to help her calm down. She found a song and she tried to jam along with it by bopping her head to it, but she can't calm down the nerves in her whole body.
Mark's silent stare isn't helping a bit. Yes, she can feel his burning stare on the side of her face. She forced herself to not look at him. Thank God she had her Airpods, making it possible for her to look as if she has herself immersed in her music. She's a nervous wreck right now. She even asked the person in front of her to press floor 17 for her, which is 5 floors lower than the exact floor she really wants to go to. She couldn't take having to stay there longer with Mark right beside her.
Her neck is starting to ache a little as she tries her best to not look to her left while waiting for the elevator bell to ding for any floor now. She is too antsy for her own good. Any floor will be okay. She would definitely run for that door whichever floor it opens for.
The floor number 14 button is now lighting up on the dials. She does not understand the song playing from her playlist anymore when she felt her left Airpod was taken from her ear and she heard again that deep thrilling voice that made her whole body freeze.
"Mara." Her name was never spoken in a way that made her shiver deliciously. It's as if it caressed her inside out. "I know it's you," he added.
She had to look at him this time. His eyes were so intense that she was made to suck in her next breath. He is still as perfect as he was before. His eyes promising her----
DING! went the elevator, signaling it is opening its doors for those who are about to get off. It broke her train of thoughts. She quickly snatched her Airpod from his hand, and the contact made her want to groan because of the heat it made her feel, and said, "Sorry, I don't know you." And then she almost ran to the elevator door before it closed on her. She looked back to make sure it closed without him following her. When she saw the doors close, she felt all her strength leave her legs and she slowly sank to the floor.
He knows it's her. He still remembers her. Not that he could forget her after what she did to him. After she ghosted on him. After she left him without a word. After what happened to her... he is to never learn about Marco. He is to never know about what happened five years ago...

Mara. It's Mara.
This was all that Mark could think of as he was looking at her walking into the elevator. She was smiling at somebody on the other end of the phone. She is shining. Her eyes are sparkling with laughter.
She no longer was the Mara he knew from five years ago. The Mara he has loved his whole life is now beside him in a packed elevator, smiling at something the person she is talking to on the phone said. Then her expression looked as if she is trying to think of an answer to a question, and then looked his way.
It was subtle but he saw the glint of recognition from her eyes when she met his gaze. But she was able to hide it without difficulty as if she is practiced to do so. She even had the audacity to tilt her head as if asking him if she knew her, and then she focused back on her phone. She smiled at the person again, before saying goodbye.
Who is she talking to? A lover?
Now, she asked to be stopped on the 17th floor.
Is that where she is living?
Mara is showing all the telltales of somebody who is uncomfortable. Her neck is strained as if trying not to look his way. Her hands are fidgeting on her phone, as well as her tongue that she uses to lick her lips whenever she is nervous. Does she know that she has such a habit?
Good to know that she hasn't completely changed. Because as far as he can see, she has changed. A lot. She can see now that she is no longer wearing her glasses. Her straight hair that she had is now curled at the ends as if asking him to wrap his fingers around it.
Guess that his hand got the memo and reached out, but he did not go for her hair. He took her Airpod from her ear and whispered, "Mara. I know it's you." Oh, how he loved her reaction when her eyes bulged at her realization that he recognized her. She recognizes him, but she's trying to leave him again by thinking she can do so by acting like she doesn't know him.
"Not this time, Mara." He whispered as she was running away from him, out of the lift. "Not this time."
