Synopsis
In the distant future humans have discovered the most important secret in the universe: the existence of an immortal soul in every living thing and mastered the art of reincarnation. After another death, a bored soul in his path to reincarnation discovered an extremely unusual phenomena: a small dimensional rift that leads to a parallel universe. The soul decided caution be damned and jump to the dimensional rift to (probably) reincarnate in a parallel world. Our protagonist eventually discovers she has reincarnated as a noble in a world where the inhabitants have evolved to use the power of anima (the enclosure that protects the soul) to manifest physical phenomena know as magic. Let's start a new and interesting life as an OP heroine in a world where the starting point eerily resembles the origin story of the villainess of an otome game.

Chapter 1 - Death, dimensional drift and reincarnation in another world.

There's only a few minutes left for my second death, it will happen a lot sooner than I expected, all because of an accident while doing a supposedly easy lab experiment in school. I can't believe I have lived twice and I have not yet completed my mandatory 60 years of education required to become a full fledged citizen (prerequisite to go to college, get a job or join the army).

This sucks and was totally not my fault but that jackass Aaron who was just so sure he could find the melting point of that weird piece of otherworldly junk from the dimensional incident. Who knew that piece of crap would suddenly turn into plasma and somehow produce a bunch of gamma rays which poisoned all of us because our heat resistant suits did very little protecting us from radiation.

Is true that we could have technically survived but it was much more cost-effective to reincarnate to a new 16 year old body (only soul-noobs on their first ever run start as a baby). At least the guy was rich so he payed for cool new bodies with all the hottest genetic features for the four of us. Mmm ... I think that after my last 5 years of mandatory school I will go to college and study about genetics, there's been cool new studies that point to the creation of a whole new discipline of genetic mutations associated to the soul subspace, like telepathic communication and "on-the-fly" soul swapping between the genetically modified individuals.

It seems is time, I can feel the same white light and subsequent time-stop phenomena from my last dead, thank God this is a lot let scary the second time around. Everything becomes grey, immobile and very slowly start disappearing (in fact they are only an illusion of my soul which remembers those things to be there).

I think of all the generations before which their first death was their last, with no information of what would happen, saw a strange time-stopped world and had their anima eroded until the little particle that is their souls fussed with that soul-behemoth waiting over my head and that everyone believes is God, *goosebumps*, good thing that my anima have a reinforcement grade 7.2 (the best bellow military grade, courtesy of Aaron) so I can think normally in this place to avoid any reincarnation trauma syndrome. This is a big difference with respect the first time when I felt like I was thrown in a blender and pureed in a new body.

Before creating a pathway for my reincarnation (a process in which your anima sends an encoded signal from anywhere in this subspace for the "Soul server" to create a pathway that match your unique ID), I decided to use such a reinforced anima to perceive what I have "around" me, just to see if I am one of the fortunate that find something interesting in this huge place (only the newest military versions of artificial anima can actually move around). The trick is to use your anima to create a dominion: a sphere of influence around your soul in which you have the power to perceive and manipulate the space around you (you cannot perceive anything beyond your dominion, because there is no "sight" in here).

And just like that I found something really interesting and, as far as I know, extremely rare: a crack in the subspace that was about to generate a small dimensional rift. Theoretically, that dimensional rift would open a door to a parallel world so .. let's take a peek, legend says that if the dimensional drift was artificially created by another advanced sentient race you may be able to reincarnate in that race in a sort of parallel universe interchange program, but that was like an urban legend.

So when the dimensional rift opened I felt a trippy sensation and the perception inside my dominion changed in a weird way, for all purposes it was like I have died in this other world, not that I could actually see it. The next stage was to make a search for non encoded soul servers that are currently transmitting a signal in this universe, not that I had much expectations.

Amazingly I found ... something. There was like a big anima that was slowly attracting me towards it, and it was so massive that could have easily caused that small dimensional drift by just moving, what was that? It was like it just existed naturally creating an attraction to any anima towards it.

After a while longer the humongous anima was withing contact range of mine, so I tried to establish some kind of communication. What I found intermediately was that it was not sentient but a residual of billions of animas which souls have been recycled since millions of years ago. This thing has become like an almost living planet because their inhabitants have evolved to use their own animas as a source of power and the residues have been accumulating on the planet itself creating a weird anima ecosystem. This was only possible because according to the laws of this universe, souls and animas were not as difficult to perceive as in my original world, probably some relatively powerful animas could even have a quasi-physical manifestation in the form of something like ghosts or spirits.

This was so freaking cool, this was a universe and a planet where animas could relatively easily interact with reality in a physical way, where ghosts and probably powerful creatures like monsters existed. And better yet, I easily found a species that looked exactly like humans in a fantasy magical setting, after I die in here and reincarnate in my own world again I probably will be like a celebrity telling amazing tales from a far away land. And my reincarnated body in my own world should be available for the next 100 years, and if it comes to worst and I loss my reservation for that body I will just use the standard government subsidized reincarnation center, it was not THAT bad my first time.

After taking my sweet time searching for a good place to reincarnate (keep in mind that I can only perceive what I have an approximate 5 meters radius, which apparently is the radius I can extend my dominion in this world) and the world is completely time-frozen while my anima is partially anchored to the soul subspace in this dead state, even while moving at any speed my thoughts could process the chore was very difficult, but here I am.

I am inside a big mansion in front a late-twenties or early-thirty something lady that is surrounded by servants and a doctor. After doing a quick check she is approximately three months pregnant so it is the perfect time for a soul to latch on the fetus and I call shotgun.

Why I chose her you ask? For once she is rich and if I'm reincarnated in a strange world I want a comfortable life, next the fetus has a really interesting gene collection that I could mix to select which genes to develop and supress to become a powerful anima user, the lady is very pretty so I'm looking forward to look like her in the future and finally there is already a big brother so there should be less pressure as the little baby girl, I'm looking forward to be spoiled rotten. So new life ... here I come.

Ok, I immediately discovered that there was something I didn't think through... as I expected in this world the anima was used as a source of magic power, however I didn't want to replicate the usual process for a reason: if I chip away my anima as a source of power and I use the anima around the planet to repair it like my mother (and I assume everyone) did, that would cause that I loose the protection that separate me from the anima from this planet and become part of it's ecosystem. Which in turn means that after I die I will just reincarnate here without my past memories like everyone else, and no way in hell I will loose one of the greatest gifts of humanity: perfect memory reincarnation. By keeping my anima intact I could either choose to reincarnate back in my universe or, if I really liked this world, to reincarnate here indefinitely while keeping my memory.

Finally I found my answer, I could use magic inside my 5 meter radius dominion without chipping away my anima, moreover the magic inside the space of my dominion should be specially powerful and by assimilating atmospheric anima, which apparently is what here is called as "mana", I could even increase it's size. So let's start the gene mixing to develop and suppress the correct genes before I'm fully developed and start practicing my range limited magic, new life here I come.
