The other person also stole some glances. She smirked at Linda and said, "Aren't you Fein's girlfriend. He is penniless so why stay with him? He isn't gonna give you anything. Well a poor person will get together with a poor person."
Linda just looked at her for a single moment and went to wash her hands and retouch her makeup.
The other person, "AH! How did you even get here? Who did you pay lip service too?"
Linda once more glanced at her through the mirror; she kept her silence. After finishing what she came for, she went out of the restroom. The other person also followed after Linda.
"Ms. Casper, I don't care about whatever you are gonna say. So for god's sake be quiet. You are very loud and your voice sounds DIS-GUS-TING." Linda said with a smile that did not reach her eyes; if a person looked just at her eyes, one could say she was extremely annoyed.
Ms. Casper shrieked, "HA! Who are you to tell me that? You nonsense. You are the third party between our relationships and now you say that."
A few guests turned around to look at them. Some even whispered, "So a third party. She looks so young yet being like this. Sad. What will happen to the future, I wonder?"
Linda smiled at the guest who commented that, "Thank you for calling me young."
They she stared down at Ms. Casper, "You say I am the third party." She closed in on to Ms. Casper. She held Ms. Casper's chin and continued, "Dear, I have never even been in a relationship. I never dated anyone. Nor did I go in between you and your ex. You say I ruined your relation but we never even saw each other like that. And tell me have you ever even see me stay with your ex when you dated? Huh?"
Ms. Casper slapped Linda's hand away from her chin and pointed it haughtily towards Linda and said, "What about the day you spent out together at night and came back in the morning?"
Linda smirked, "That time was for work. We were at the company. And just for your loving information, there were five people with us that day."
One of the aunties who was watching the spectacle suddenly asked, "Then, girl why didn't you tell that before to the lady?"
Linda looked at her and said, "I did tell Ms. Casper but she ran away from the house they were staying and found herself a man for the night….. Well I guess you know the rest."
That aunt just made a 'O' space and became quiet. Linda looked gloatingly at Ms. Casper and said, "HAHA! Now you can't lie to people saying I am the third party. More to that Fein was so nice to you, he even said he didn't mind what you did but you kept on hurting his pride by going to other men at night. So ironic for you to call me a third party when you are worse."
Suddenly Linda saw Fein coming towards her. Fein looked angry at me, "LINDA! How many times I told you not to do this? Why do you keep testing my limits every time?"
Linda looked aggrieved, "But I didn't start it."
Fein ignored his boss and said to Ms. Casper, "Sorry, and Ms. Casper. My sister is at fault. If you will excuse her."
Linda got frustrated, "Why do you still care about her? So mean. Let's go. Hump! Grumpyyyyyy"
She just ran towards Mr. Yemek when she saw him, "You are finally here.do you know how much I missed you?"
Mr. Yemek found it hard for himself to believe that Linda would act like that. He scanned through the perimeter with his eyes when he noticed the pompous woman, Ms. Casper standing and Fein also stood still. He looked at Linda again and whispered to her, "Calm down." It was as if he was lulling a very young child.
Not many know it but Mr. Yemek has seen Linda grow up. He took care of her like his own daughter when she was young not like that he doesn't now. Mr. Yemek knew why Linda was so annoyed. But he didn't say anything when the snobbish woman spoke up, "See, you call her a young woman but see how she flirts around with other men… he is even so old….. Hai!"
Linda clenched her hands; anger was evident on her face as she really wanted to slap Ms. Casper right then and there but she held herself when Mr. Yemek's voice sounded, "Ms. Casper, I request you to keep your opinions to yourself. You already have hurt my colleague more than once. And now, how dare you slander my niece? Who gave you the authority?"
He was really angry when Ms. Casper said such sullying words to Linda. He saw Mr. Casper in the corner and called out to him.
"Mr. Casper, how have you been?"
Mr. Casper came out of the corner and glanced at Linda. He saw how angry he was yet she still didn't lash out on his daughter. He thought to himself, though my daughter said such hurtful words to her but Linda still didn't do much other than retaliate once. Mr. Casper ashamedly looked toward Linda, Fein and Mr. Yemek.
He did a forty five degree bow, "I am sorry Fein and Linda," he again stood up to his fullest height and continued, "for my daughter. Please forgive her this once and let it all go. I will be sure to discipline her and never let her meet you guys in any way."
Though Linda and Fein didn't say anything, Mr. Yemek spoke up, "Mr. Casper, since you saw for yourself what your daughter does and is, we will not interfere with anything more."
Linda was quite throughout, from the time Mr. Yemek came by. Mr. Yemek and Mr. Casper knew how much of a sensitive topic, this third parties, were to Linda.
