The air in the car was suffocating to everyone. Fein kept on fidgeting while Mr. Yemek kept quiet. Linda just kept a look outside of the car.
She kept on remembering her mother. Her mother was wrongly labelled as a third party. Though she got her justice, it never left a good taste in her and Jammy's mouth.
Both of them never talked about this kind of things because they knew if they even said just one word they felt hurt. After all no one would like to hear such sullying words towards their own mother.
Fein spoke up, "Lady, I am sorry. I shouldn't have said that to you."
Linda looked at Fein; she was silent. Her disappointment was evident in her face. She just then moved her eyes once again out of the car. Fein wanted to say more when Mr. Yemek sounded, "Fein, be quiet."
Fein shut his mouth immediately. They finally reached the hotel. Linda was back in her room when her tears flowed out from her eyes.
Right at that moment, Linda's phone rang. She saw it displayed Ren's name. She wiped her tears away with her forearm. She picked up the call.
"Hello." Although her voice sounded hoarse, she still could bring out her sweetest voice.
The moment Ren heard her, he could tell that Linda was not herself.
"Is something bothering you, Linda?" Ren worriedly asked.
Linda smiled when she heard his sonorous yet slightly rough voice. "No, what do you ask?"
She thought a little like this would be unnoticed by Ren. But she was utterly wrong on this point.
"Dear, I can tell just from your voice that something is wrong. Wanna share it with me." Ren patiently said. He was waiting for her to open up to him on her own. After all he couldn't force her to do that.
"Maybe…. Sometime soon you will get to know a lot of things about me but not now." Linda melancholy said. She was continuously wiping her eyes. It felt itchy after all that rubbing but she still kept doing that.
That was when Mr. Yemek came into her room. "You look so ugly right now. Are you sure you can get a husband with that face of yours, Linda?"
Though Linda was on her phone, she hissed at Mr. Yemek, "Why don't you go and just find yourself a wife instead of looking after me. Hump!"
Ren suddenly felt he was drowned in a whole jar of vinegar. He just heard his future wife flirt with another guy, "Linda, who's that?"
"Oh! Sorry about that. That was my uncle. He is looking after me."
All the vinegar washed away as easily as it came when he heard her words.
"So when are you coming back?"
"Huh! Soon."
On Ren's side, his driver said that they had reached the airport.
Ren, "Why don't you stay a few more days? I am coming to china."
Linda, "Really?"
Ren, "Hmm. Are you in shanghai?"
Linda, "Yes. Are you coming here?"
Ren, "Yeh. It just means I get to see you earlier."
……
Mr. Yemek just came up to Linda with a grave face. Linda peered at him and cocked her head as if asking what happened.
Mr. Yemek said, "Young master Jammy has been injured."
Linda shouted at Mr. Yemek, "What? How?"
Ren also heard what Mr. Yemek said. He got worried too. Jammy was Ren's best friend, they were more like brothers from different parents.
He asked his subordinate to hurriedly find out what happened to Jammy. Linda had already hung up on the call. They once again missed one another for this misfortune.
...…..
At Linda's end
She asked Mr. Yemek to book the earliest flight back home. He had already booked the next flight which was at 1 am. By the time it was 4am, she reached her country.
She rushed to the hospital alone in early morning. Mr. Yemek and Fein stayed back in china for the collaborations. She finally reached the hospital.
Outside of the operating room, Mr. Yokov and Mrs. Yokov were standing with a few of their subordinates, PA Wekn was also there. They stood nervously though Mr. Yokov looked pretty relaxed to Linda. She sneered at him and went up to Mrs. Yokov, "Mother, what happened to Jamjam?"
Mrs. Yokov finally looked at Linda; she shook her head. Linda glanced at PA Wekn. She pointed her head towards the other corridor. PA Wekn followed after her.
Linda asked, "What happened?"
PA Wekn, "Lady, nothing happened just drunk driving."
Linda irritatedly asked, "Is that why he us having an operation over five hours? HUH?"
PA Wekn looked down and didn't dare to answer. Linda was getting frustrated when she took out her phone and called the commissioner of police, "Been a while commissioner."
The commissioner, "Yes. It has been. What do I owe the honor for your call?"
Linda sighed, "Uncle, help me out. Find out what happened to Jamjam and who did this. Please."
The commissioner, "Obviously, I will but you know he told us to never to divulge any kind of information of any accidents he gets involved in."
Linda, "So, will you tell me?"
The commissioner, "I can't but I will not stop you from doing any kind of investigations on your own." He smiled.
Linda caught the main point, "No worries if you can't."
PA Wekn advised Linda, "Lady, you shouldn't get yourself stuck in this deep mess."
Linda skimmed PA Wekn, "Just tell me one thing."
PA Wekn nodded his head, "Does this incident have anything with the new company?"
PA Wekn's eyes widened. He knew that his master still didn't tell Linda about the company. He wondered how she knew. Though he asked himself that, he couldn't ask Linda that.
Linda asked annoyedly, "Yes or no?"
PA Wekn could only disclose the information he didn't even tell his master's parents, "Yes."
Linda squinted her eyes, "Does Mr. Yokov and mother know?"
PA Wekn, "No, lady."
Linda heaved a sigh, "Thank god. Don't let them know. Especially Mr. Yokov."
PA Wekn, "Yes, lady."
