At the end of the day we walked home as usual, talked as usual and smiled as usual but his expressions were starting to slip and from the beginning I could tell that he wanted to talk about today. The eavesdropping and the school it was as obvious and as suspicious as the sun rising from the west.
We went home and he went to shower first without a word. I went to the kitchen to prepare for dinner, we had more time then others so I was planning on making a full course meal.
The sound of water stopped and as did my hands. The taps clanked from the sudden closure and I started to move. Walking up the stairs with a determination for an interrogation. This time, it wasn't a criminal, but a cage around a mind and I was planning to obliterate it.
I stood outside the bathroom door as I heard the shuffle of cloths from within. Footsteps were next, then a hand on the door knob, then the twisting of the door knob and finally, the push of the door.
His golden eyes looked straight into mine as he then closed them and sighed.
"My room,"
He said, where else, I thought.
"Heir,"
I said to him, narrowing my eyes.
"Yes, I have full intentions to make you my heir, currently as head of Regalia if I don't have an heir or a woman then my reputation will take a downfall in the last years of my rule."
"A woman? Why not?"
He scowled, not masking his expression towards that at all.
"My father has been pressuring me to marry for years, scheming many unwanted marriages and meet ups. His standards are simple but then again frankly so are mine. "
I nodded with empathy, I wonder, is Regalia worse then my world? So far it sounds all the same.
"And what about the species barrier,"
He scratch the back of his head.
"I'm working on it,"
"The travel?"
"Working on it,"
"My unexplained absence?"
"Working on it all right?"
I sighed and smiled at him.
"All for the name of Regalia and a little girl,"
He looked up.
"You heard that?"
I nodded.
"Luella Yonder Regalia, my baby sister, abandoned by my mother for being a bastard child and has been under the 'care' of my grandfather. My father hates her and my mother always sided with father."
Complicated family situations are the worst, aren't they mother? I recalled the events that my mind showed me during my sleep. Atticus, mother, why did you have me in the first place if you knew this was the hell that awaited me?
"About the school, what is the school actually?"
"And where did you hear that? You definitely weren't there,"
He asked suspiciously.
"Noah described the school as a disguise,"
"It's for raising the future heads of the family, this school was not taken over by delinquents but by demons. The joker is always chosen by the last joker but there is a gap where there is no heir to train yet so they hand the school over to a trusted ally they found during their time at the school and in this case it's the high priestess unless..."
I raised my eyebrow at the fading away of the sentence.
"Unless what?"
"Nothing,"
He brushed it off, suspicious. I sighed as I thought back to the first point, heir of another family? Actually I don't think he knows yet.
"Osric, you are aware of the social system in this world are you not?"
I asked him, planning to reveal my own status, maybe he'll reconsider his decision.
"Yes, a simple system of classes, low, middle, high and noble,"
He told me, so he does know. But how? He did say he had come to this world before but he never went any deeper then that.
"Do you know how many noble families there are,"
"The regalia family are told this because of the involvement in the dark side, there are 3, noble families and 2 noble guard families."
I nodded.
"And their last names?"
He furrowed his brow at my questioning.
"The three noble families are the Hu, Coltus and Zevary, the two noble guard families are the Kamada and Daemon,"
I nodded my head and made a sound of approval.
"Now what's my last name?"
"I dont know,"
"My full name is..."
This is it, your days of being treated normally are over.
"Michael Malligane Coltus,"
