Chereads / The Unwilling Heir / Chapter 110 - The Room of Cosmos

Chapter 110 - The Room of Cosmos

I woke up on a desk with something warm on me. I fell asleep? That's right, on the roof. So why am I on a desk? I got up and on me was a black trench coat that I recognised, I looked around for the person it belonged to, Osric was nowhere in sight. I got up to have a proper look at the room and in one corner I saw Noah. He was sitting on a stray stool, on leg over the other with a boom in his hands that he was reading. He looked up at me.

"Osric is downstairs with magician, in the room of cosmos,"

They must name the rooms as well. Cosmos, names are made to be pretty self explanatory too. Why was he in there?

I walked downstairs after saying my thanks and farewell to Noah of which he didn't pay attention to. I had eyes staring at me from all directions as soon as I got down the stairs. The level upstairs must be entirely reserved for him then. I walked along the rooms until I walked upon one where I heard the Magician's voice coming from. For some reason I didn't go in, I stayed outside and hid. I then started to eavesdrop, I don't know why.

"What are you going to do then? Drag him back to regalia?"

I heard Magician say.

"All I need to do is check in Luella,"

Osric's voice came through but it didn't sound normal, he seemed distressed and desperate.

"And what are you going to do about the boy, you still don't know what he's capable of, it's you he summoned remember that,"

Magician told Osric off sternly but still in his normal high pitched voice. What on earth were they going on about and who was Luella? A lover? His relative? A dear friend? Oh frick, I didn't know what I dragged him away from when I summoned him. Frick, what else is there? I'm so stupid and clueless!

"I told you, I'm going to make that child my heir,"

Did he say heir? No, I just escape from one but now you want me to go back into that position. Heir, what a despicable position to be in. Once you hold that title a bunch of expectations are just dumped on you, the weight breaking all your mental fortitudes agonisingly slowly. If that doesn't happen, rest assured that the family will fall as quickly and surely as a rock in water.

"I know that but how? It's not like the demons are going to just accept a human,"

The magician said. That is a good point, I don't even know if they even know humans exist for that matter.

"August Phillip Regalia, who do you think I am?"

Osric was now the one in charge of the conversation. I was still hiding and listening, careful to conceal myself and not be spotted.

"Cyrille Emmanuel Regalia, I know exactly who you are, but I'm starting to question what I know of you all because of that boy,"

Cyrille? That must be his real name and I didn't know he had a middle name. Such a nice one too. I wish, Malligane sounds so plain.

I accidentally let out a sigh at that.

"Someone's at the door,"

Magician said as he walked towards the door where I was standing beside. My forehead sweating. I heard a sniff, then silence. The footsteps didn't continue coming forwards but they moved back.

Silence.

All of a sudden heavy quick footsteps suddenly sounded and was heading for me. I click signified that he had pushed the handle and with that he pushed the door with force.

I looked at the door in a nervous wreck but then I saw that the person wasn't magician but Osric. I instantly gave him an innocent but guilty look. He closed the door again with a sigh but an amused look in his eyes.

"No one there,"

He said as he walked back in.

"Brother, I didn't know you were such a softy for the boy,"

August said in a childish manner.

"Of course you'd know, otherwise you wouldn't be speaking like that,"

Speaking like what? A child? Then what's his other voice, an elderly man?? And here I thought multiple identity disorder was rare.

I went inside to announce defeat when footsteps behind me made me turn around.

"Finished eavesdropping? How much did you get?"

Noah told me with a hand in one pocket and a book in the other.

"I don't know if any of that was true or not, magician knew right from the beginning,"

Noah gave me a smile.

"Yep, just like him,"

He said with a chuckle, I have a feeling he's done it before too.

The door slid open and August came out with his arms out and a big smile on his face.

"Have you two gotten acquainted? Because if you haven't you'd ought to now. Your going to need each other,"

He said with a wink in a very showcase manner then he strutted off in a very enthusiastic mood. Melissa, the high priestess came walking towards us and didnt even look at the queer magician as he walked past her.

"Honestly, when is he going to grow up?"

She said as she came up to us which earned a bit of a sly smile from Noah.

"Now. You, you need to come with me,"

She said to me then walked off. I as well as everyone in the group followed her. As we walked out a group of 3 people walked into the room we were just in. I'm assuming they were the three that were meant to be in the room of Cosmos, that means they were the moon, the sun and the star. It was a very interesting group, there was one person at the front of the two who was so obviously the leader that the other two might not exist and just be hallucinations. He was big in aura and stature and was bright, to others a glow might be emitting from him. His aura is large but not flexible, it could be troublesome to use as it has the potential to be very clumsy. The next one was little girl, she seemed no older then 10 but I wasn't a fool and could tell the lethality in her movements. She also had a trance like look in her eyes that made it look like she was dreaming with her eyes open. The last was a young woman with straight black hair and strict but pretty facial features that were almost in pain. She herself seemed to be in pain but wasn't showing it. It was like she was a corpse just waiting for death, but reluctant to do so.

All these people were interesting and no doubt the rest of the people here in the building of the royal court are even more so. This might be a bad place to stay but the question is how.
