Chereads / The Unwilling Heir / Chapter 89 - An Identity Crisis

Chapter 89 - An Identity Crisis

"Young miss I told you that I am not,"

I was starting to get a bit annoyed at this girl. She might be a fan of the mask but she'd better stay away from the demon underneath it. He curious brown eyes were staring at me the whole time and her mouth was covered my a pale blue scarf and she pushed it down with her hands that were wearing mittens when ever she wanted to speak. I opened my bag to take my laptop out to make more excuses but that was a mistake. I wasn't thinking properly and when I did opened my bag the girl hadn't left yet. She saw the white and red on the side of my mask.

"Omg, you are! That mask!"

I cringed at the volume and then looked around quickly to see that everyone was looking at me. Ah frick.

"You are the ghost noble."

She said it in an exciting whisper. Now I was just staring at her trying to decipher what the hell was going on in her head. She stared right back then started turning red for some reason.

"I sorry for disturbing you,"

Then she hurried away with her face in her scarf and hands over her chest. That... was strange. I'll ask the girls if they know anything.

Michael: any of u girls online?

Eleanor: right here

Michael: if a random girl comes up to u and asks if ur the ghost noble, then realised that u are, then runs away with her face all red saying sorry, what does that mean

Eleanor: what did you do to the girl before she ran away?

I though about it, I was trying to decipher her, that's it.

Michael: I was trying to figure out what she was thinking

Eleanor: physically?

Michael: I was staring at her and she was staring right back

Eleanor: god, what am I going to do with you?

Michael: what?

Eleanor: if u stare at a girls eyes for an extended period of time what is she going to think

Michael: idk

Eleanor: she's going to think that your checking her out you idiot!

Michael: oh

Michael: thanks

I turned off my phone and stared into the distance. What am I going to do! When I looked around to see where she was I saw her talking to a friend while her friend was gawking at her. I mentally hit my head. Now she's telling a friend of my identity. I went through my options. If I stand up and walk away I'll attract attention, if I stay seated they'll probably work up the courage to approach me again. The best option would be... I looked along the seats and saw a business man packing up his stuff and his feet were drawn back. These actions all pointed to him going to stand up. I moved along the seat with my ethereal just for extra protection then when he was about to stand up I got up with him. The girls were still talking so I wasn't in danger. The area for this plane was large so I moved to the other end and finally I couldn't see them anymore. At the time I didn't know but as I was leaving they happened to notice and then took their phone out and took a picture while I was walking away.

I sat down on my new seat with a sigh and got my laptop back out. My hand speed has improved by 3 words per minute but it's still not fast enough. Why the hell is my brother so good at this stuff!

...

I arrived at the airport and with a quick phone call I got through security without suspicion, I got my last name changed and a new card was being sent over as I was walking to a taxi.

"Take me to The Palace Hotel,"

I told the driver who's eyes were wide as he looked me through the mirror. You want to know why? I'm sure you already knew, this hotel is a rare 10 star hotel, one of the few in the world, there are 6 star hotels over the states, 7 stars in selected states, 8 in countries, 9 in selected countries and 10 in hidden locations. Openly, the palace is a 9 star hotel but in this period it is one of the hidden 10 stars.

I got to the palace and he bowed his head to me and a bead of sweat ran down his forehead. He knows I'm rich. And I didn't hide it either.

I walked away with my suitcase in tow and heard the taxi drive off. In front of me were two guards and a door that lead into the stupidly expensive hotel.

Two attendees came out and bowed.

"May I please take your bag young sir,"

"Right this way,"

They said as they lead me inside with me saying a word. I went to the reception and a smiling man was at a computer.

"Michael Malligane. I booked a room on the 79th floor."

He looked back at me then behind.

"Are your parents here?"

He asked in a kind voice, as if treating a child.

"No, I'm here alone,"

He hesitated before nodding his head and going back to the computer.

"The royal suite?"

"Yes,"

"I'll need identification for that,"

It wasn't the first time I've been here as my parents placed me here when they didn't trust me in the household. We never needed identification.

"Last time I was here I never needed it,"

He just kept smiling.

"Young man, it's the royal suite, I'm sorry but you'll need identification."

He was getting annoyed. Still treating me like a child huh?

I went to my bag, not to get my passport but to get my mask, I put to on before standing up to meet his eye.

He looked up at me then scrambled out of his seat, his smile wiped clean off his face and he bent down into a bow.

"I'm sorry for offending you, esteemed guest of nobility."

He told me. I looked around awkwardly too see that no one was around. I sighed a breath of relief then turned back to the matter at hand.

"Sit down and treat me like a normal customer,"

He sat down with a bit of a surprised face, he didn't expect me to say that of all things.

"Noble ghost, I am honoured to be in your presence, please make your way to your suit."

He told me, I doubt he was going to treat me normally.

"You spill my identity to anyone and you'll find yourself without a job, wipe the security footage as well,"

I told him. Then just to make it polite.

"Thank you,"

I then left for the elevator without another word.
